The guy I went to gencon was able to grab this and we played it that night. I couldn't believe how satisfying the dice placement was with all of the controls, dials, and switches. The limited communication also added a lot of tension. I'm not surprised this one had big lines and sold out.
This very much looks right up my alley. Can’t wait for it to be available at my local store. Kinda reminds me of Under Falling Skies, the overall design and dice placement, the decision making. Very cool
@@tmcd5049 I've played UFS co-op the same way I've played many other solo-only games... take turns being "in charge" for the round, but leave discussion open> But yeah, I guess you could split the dice between players and hide them, like in this game, though that would make the game so much tougher :)
Really enjoyed your review of this awesome game! Also wanted to say it was a pleasure meeting you at Gen Con AND playing Donkey Kong with you, Mike! :)
I saw those and they look like they might work. Not gonna be my preferred way to play, since my kids and wife all love it and are game to fly whenever, but I'd love for it to be fun for solo-only players too!
@@OneStopCoopShop Ha! I just don't enjoy the dice placement mechanism as a thing, but heck, if this was at a table and someone asked me to try it, I totally would, and maybe I'd be pleasantly surprised!
Thanks Mike. Great amount of info packed into the short format never fails to impress. I've not seen anything about Sky Team before and the theme looks interesting. I have taken on board (pun not intended, but will take it! lol) what you said about the limited comms between players, but thematically this seems weird. Pilot and co-pilot need to communicate irl! watched a video a few weeks ago when a lack of communication on the flightdeck caused the loss of a flight into the briny! (no lives lost thankfully) Will be more interested in Sky Team depending on how well the solo options work. Having said all the above about lack of comms, my right hand doesn't know what my left hand is doing, which would possibly mean I could get away with playing the game as it comes in the box! 🤣🤣
I've seen at least one solid and simple sounding solo option on BGG already. For me it's easy to get my family members to play 2-player, so I don't think I'll ever need to play this solo, but it's nice to have the option!

I’m really happy it’s getting so much attention, especially for a little game from a small-ish publisher.

That's a good comparison, and I love both games :)
Does that suggest a possible way(s) to turn UFS into a co-op?

@@OneStopCoopShop Thanks, Mike (I'm guessing)!
@tmcd5049 yup it’s me. Generally we will sign our comments if we are popping into someone else’s video (like if I respond to a comment on a colin vid)
One of my favourite games this year, love it!
Wow, this is like Flight Simulator: the board game! That's great, thanks Mike.

It was great seeing you too. And not sure if either of us was “playing” donkey kong since we couldn’t beat the 2nd stage 😬😅
@@OneStopCoopShopLet's blame the adult beverages for that lol ;)
The Bgg solo options may make this one for me to hunt.

This would be right up my alley (I love the theme) if it *wasn't* dice placement, ha! Thanks for sharing with us!
Just pretend they are… cubes?! Like a euro!!! 😜

I'm on my Jack Jones most of the time so have to fly solo! lol

It's only £25 on pre-order so SkyTeam just got even more tempting! lol
