    I m so glad at such young age you realized what life is really all about and left stinky New York 😅

    2 out of 2 well done. Banana and Hibiscus. Love your stories about the man that fell. Made me wonder, how long does it take for an ambulance? Where is the closest hospital. Summer in the village is so bright and cherrie.

      Oh I’m so glad I got the two right 😅 I honestly was a bit worried I was making a fool of myself but it looks like my “plant recognizing” skills aren’t as bad as I thought lol. It makes me so happy that you noticed the quick tale about the man who fell because he was a very big part of our village and truly lived a memorable life. I have actually always been so intrigued by him that I made a video dedicated especially to him. I will add the link below in case you are interested.
      I regret to admit that the situation with ambulances and urgent care is very poor here on the farm. There used to be a hospital 30 minutes away by car in the closest town (I have my own share of memories there) but they shut it down. Now the closest hospital is an hour away by car and ambulances take about that long to get here. As scary as it sounds people out here are pretty much on their own as far as quick medical care but we have a very tight knit community of people who know a tremendous amount about traditional medicine. It’s enough to at least hold off for the hour hour ride to the hospital. One of our biggest fears is snake bites (we have no antivenin on the farm) but I haven’t heard of any fatalities in the recent past. Somehow people get by and actually the majority live very long lives, many into their mid 90’s 🙏🏻

      I was so confused at first because we have never had a banana tree on the farm before. Looks like someone went abroad and brought back a nice souvenir 😄

    Mmmm.. figs❤
    As always , beautiful scenery. It’s quite sad that the village is so deserted. Hopefully you can bring back some younger people by showing the lifestyle.
    There really seems to be so much potential for a simpler life
    Cheers my dear❤

      The figs are fully ripe now and sooo delicious 😋 I wish I could send you some!
      I hope so too.. the reason I started filming was because I find life out here to be so fulfilling and just as you said- so full of potential. I don’t think enough young people know just how beautiful a simple life can be. I sincerely hope more people return as well 🙏🏻
      As always thank you for watching. Big hugs from Bulgaria! ❤️❤️

    Since I last talked with you, I searched the internet around Yabol, Elkhovo. I did find some examples of what might be available in the future. Then, I went a little crazy and looked all over Bulgaria. Nothing really came up that looked interesting to me. I seem to be drawn back to the South Eastern
    area. Most likely because I'm convinced the longer growing season and much milder winter. I did look at both Slivan's and Haskovo. I did find a little
    village "Kirilovo" 7 km from Elkhovo, pop 306, with two English families there. TH-cam had a couple of videos on it. Is it correct that the winters are
    milder due to the closeness of the coast and southern position? Thanks so much for your time and consideration. Warmest Regards. Ed

      I’m so sorry for the late reply Ed- we have been struggling with intense drought and had a rough past few days. I know about Kirilovo 😊 It is a very peaceful little village about 20 minutes from Stara Zagora. This is good because Stara Zagora is a larger ‘city’ so you can always pop over there if you ever need provisions, medical care etc. Yes, winters are much milder down south. The banana tree in our farm center is a testament to how mild winters have become down here in recent years 😃 Stara Zagora is known to have much warmer temperatures than Sofia so I don’t think you will have a rough time over the winter 😊

    The forbidden fruit….made me think of Eve in the Garden of Eden in the Bible! Perhaps we will have to change your name! Anyway, another excellent video and looking forward to what happens at the river

      Oooooo what a clever way to look at it! “The Garden of Eden”- I love it ❤️ haha I think I could pull off an “Eve” 😃
      As always thank you for watching and for this comment especially- you made my day! 😃❤️

    Thank you for your rapid reply. Yes, I will look up Slivan, and Haskovo. Thanks for the recommendations. Had not thought of Casinos in Bulgaria.
    That was interesting. Looking for small town with postal service, cafe, and community type. English is my main Language, I have a little Spanish but
    no Bulgarian, but anxious to learn. We shall see. Again, thanks. Warmest Regards.

    • @sistersofbulgaria9396
      @sistersofbulgaria9396  ปีที่แล้ว

      Don’t worry, most people in Bulgaria speak English (at least enough for you to communicate). I know it can be scary not knowing the language but don’t stress 😊 I’m sure you will pick up Bulgarian quickly!
      Both of these towns have exactly that.
      P.S- Svilengrad and Sliven are two separate towns but now that you mention Sliven, it is very nice there too. You could add that to your list of options to check out. Again, don’t stress- you will be just fine with English and if you ever have any questions or need anything at all just message! ☺️

    Looking at Southeast Bulgaria for the longer growing season and mild winters. Looking at Yambol and Elkhovo. Are there other properties for sale in your village area? Love your videos. Subscribed on your first one. Warmest Regards, Ed

    • @sistersofbulgaria9396
      @sistersofbulgaria9396  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Ed! Thank you so much for the kind words and for subscribing. It truly means a great deal to me😊 Yambol is very nice and has a nice balance between small town feel and small city vibes. Elhovo is also beautiful but much smaller and more relaxed. I have been asking around and right now there aren’t any houses for sale exactly in our village but if you like the small town feel I recommend Svilengrad. I often see “for sale” signs when we drive through. It is not too far from us (we actually drive over for lunch regularly) and is very peaceful, yet relatively lively. They built a few casinos there which attracts many foreigners but you really don’t feel them in the town itself. You can also look at Haskovo. Many of our village’s youth moved there because it again has a good balance between “town feel” and “relaxed vibes”. Based on the two areas you mentioned I can confidently recommend these two towns as definitely being worth checking out. I hope this helps! If you ever have any questions or need help with your move I am just a message away! 😊

    Doesn't it snow in winter, wouldn't that kill the banana plants???

    • @sistersofbulgaria9396
      @sistersofbulgaria9396  ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s exactly why I was so confused when I first saw it lol but in recent years we haven’t had any snow at all. We used to get A LOT of snow but not anymore. Actually winters on the farm have recently been warmer and sunnier than usual. but I’m not sure if you remember my winter videos but they were filmed in December and I was wearing just a thin sweatshirt and my grandpa’s hunting jacket which I ended up taking off. We are all the way south but I’m not sure how ‘normal’ this weather is 😕

    Why did you chose to move to Bulgaria instead of a rural area in the US? I'm just curious.

    • @sistersofbulgaria9396
      @sistersofbulgaria9396  ปีที่แล้ว

      Very good question 😃 I am Bulgarian and grew up on this farm every summer with my grandma and grandpa. My roots are here and I feel a connection here that I just don’t feel in the U.S. I guess that’s the reasoning behind it 🙂

    • @alexgee248
      @alexgee248 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@sistersofbulgaria9396 Thanks for your reply. That explains it. I thought you were only born there but have never been there since you left. I'm Bulgarian too but grew up abroad and have only visited the country twice for bureaucratic reasons only. I don't have much of an attachment to it and it's effectively a foreign country to me. I've considered it as a place to move to for a quieter life that is closer to nature but if I lived in the US I'd just move to another state.
      Успех.
