    Just catching up with your videos and looking forward to seeing more!
    You're spot on about needing to love a place. Obviously the nature, weather and cheaper cost of living is a big attraction, and when we first arrived we did have a bit of a culture shock. Bulgaria is definitely like Marmite in that respect, but we soon found it very endearing because of the people we met while househunting - they are so warm and friendly and funny too.
    Really good advice about choosing a larger populated village which has better amenities especially as dying villages are also likely to have more frequent water and electric issues in our experience.
    It feels horrible taking down trees, but they only have a limited lifespan anyway and a little haircut never hurt anyone lol. Lovely to have a walnut forest though - even if on a steep slope!
    The stray animal situation is hard to see, and you do need to kind of turn a blind eye, but that is against everything we were brought up to do when it comes to animals so really difficult. To be fair though since we moved there in 2006 there have been some improvements in some areas, it just doesn't happen fast enough for our liking.

      @ulgaria_Bucharest How easy is it to communicate? Do Bulgarians generally speak English?

    • @Baku_Bulgaria_Bucharest
      @Baku_Bulgaria_Bucharest  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      @jamesportrais3. In the cities and holidsy resorts they speak English. In the villages, usually they don't, or a few people will know a little. I recommend learning some basics

    I am wondering if you could get a visa if you open a small business in Bulgaria. Do you have a good lawyer there? Sorry if I missed the info from the video, it's very early here.
    Anyway, welcome to Bulgaria. The region you chose is beautiful and has a lot of ease of access to many interesting places and services. Good luck and enjoy.

    A wonderful and thoughtful video. This may seem a weird question but does Amazon deliver to the small villages and if so how long from order to delivery?

    • @Baku_Bulgaria_Bucharest
      @Baku_Bulgaria_Bucharest  8 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      No Amazon in BG. You can get stuff delivered to neighbouring countries. But they have Emag which is next day delivery and the same, essentially

    Is there home internet in the house? Which village did you choose?
    Is it difficult to adapt to Bulgarian cultures?
    Did you find Arabs in the village? (Just because I am Arab) :)
    Thanks again :)

      @Baku_Bulgaria_Bucharest  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      We live in a village in VT. The Internet in BG is excellent but does go off sometimes. And Arabs.....not personally but all nationalities live in BG and the people are very kind and welcoming

    • @jordangrigorov
      @jordangrigorov หลายเดือนก่อน

      Please no arabs. Western Europe is already ruined by the Arabs. If you can assimilate with Christian culture, you’ll be accepted. Eastern Europe is not that tolerant as the West. People are a lot more into preserving their culture and traditions.

    All British people who move to Bulgaria say that they want to learn about the culture, traditions, to learn the language and for some reason most of them move into the Veliko Turnovo area, where most of the Brits go. This is not the only nice area in Bulgaria, believe me I know. But Brits go where the other Brits go, which makes me think that they are not very willing to embrace the culture and traditions as they claim and that they are not willing to mingle with the locals very much. Brits just want to live in Bulgaria but the British way of life together within a British community. I might be wrong, but this is what it looks like to me.

    • @Baku_Bulgaria_Bucharest
      @Baku_Bulgaria_Bucharest  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Well, that's not how I feel. I found the areas of Burgas and Yambol full of Brits who wouldn't integrate. There are a fair few British here in VT for sure, but a lot are here BECAUSE they want to integrate. There are 1300 souls in our village, less than 10 are British. Maybe places like Palamartsa where there are lots of Brits, for sure.

    • @huskytail
      @huskytail 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      It's very normal for people to look for like minded people. That's often the case with everyone moving to another country and it has nothing to do with wanting or not to learn about the culture. We Bulgarians do it as well, although less than others, it's not much different to what the British people do in Bulgaria.
      It helps with the initial move, it helps with having some help around in villages that often have just a few houses inhabited 100% of the time.
      They all try to learn some Bulgarian, you can see how many respect and enjoy our traditions and incorporate them into their own. Just compare with the Russian immigration who live much more bunched together than the Brits and not only don't learn a single Bulgarian word, but don't participate in any of the Lindal traditions.
      I think you are having an unreasonable expectation of what immigrant life is.

    • @krasimirkirev5291

      Really? You think I have an unreasonable expectation of what immigrant life is. Let me tell you something -you don't know anything about that. Мисля, че приключих с дебата си с теб.

      What on earth are you talking about? Are you commenting on the wrong video? For one thing, I HAVE a house so your grand declaration that I can't have one is moot, and for another where is the greediness? Unless you're calling me fat, which I am.
