MAXTON DESIGN REAR DIFFUSER INSTALL ON MK2 FOCUS ST *HOW TO* (Read Description)

- This was the maxton design rear diffuser for the pre facelift mk2 focus ST.
The fitting is very straight forward, just ensure your markings and measurements are correct.
However maxton should definitely supply a fitting guide and bolts with this kit, they should also slightly alter the shape so that it fits more flush without me needing to add additional thread and bolts.
Please note: once I applied the tiger seal I was not happy with the fitment. I thought it was wrong, but it was perfectly fine. I wiped the car clean of tiger seal and bolted it on dry. It will stay this way until I make 2 new threaded bolts and screw them into the bumper along with the 3 from factory( the custom bolts I make will have the same function as the 3 that come pre fitted inside the diffuser). I will then use the tiger seal knowing the diffuser is going to sit flush to the bumper. I have read online people have used clamps overnight after using tiger seal to keep it flush to the bumper while drying. Something to consider if you are fitting one yourself

The fitting is ridicules maxtron design are not cheap products. You’d expect this fit from a £10 eBay copy . Nice to see you’ve adapted it to fit . But when your paying that sort of money it should fit like a glove out the box . Well done bud . Took your advice and bought the eBay diesel slam panel . Now that was a good buy . I got one for my facelift st and I didn't know everyone had to do this after the information on the diffuser said "not additional modifications required"
Looks a lot meaner now, it’s on my list of things to eventually do when I start with cosmetic mods.😎

Using 3M VHB tape around the edges (especially the top edge) would have helped eliminate those gaps. Would much prefer a replacement diffuser than sticking a "cover" over the existing one. End result looks good though.

if i can use a ford focus mk2 3dr hatchback bumper.. on a 5dr hatchback.

Sorry mate. Is this the same for the FL? I can’t seem to figure out how it dose fit.
I’d like to say it is... however if I remember correctly the FL stock diffuser can be unscrewed, so there’s a possibility the Maxton one screws on? Best bet is to email them and ask bud if you can’t find else where! Hope this helps
Hi mate , do you know if this diffuser should fit on a regular ford focus . Not a xr5 or st . Pretty much just the standard version. Do you also know if all the body’s for the mk2 focuses are the same

I would have just used more tiger seal and c clamps in those areas so you don’t have any visible fixings.
What size are the tail pipes? 4.5 or 5 inch?

Enjoy it mate! KMS are the best out there in my opinion. I debated 5” however I’ve heard people’s diffusers have melted !! 4.5” is big enough !! 🤣👌🏼
