@Nathan Featherstone Um they mean Jeff Varner, not Jeff Probst. And also Jeff Probst has only hosted 3 seasons since: Island of the Idols, Winners at War, and Survivor 41’s filming is already done
That's it. Sometimes you should just never say something because once you created the damage, you can never get it back. Honestly, I don't feel that he is really apologetic. Can't feel it.
Chu_OW nope editing makes you think that’s but tribe still needed Ozzy around for challenges and he was strength of it. Why else would Varner feel the need to fight for his life like he did, he ain’t no rookie of the game, he was a veteran who played right at the start of it, post mid phase and then later stage, you’d think he know what’s up as a whole going to tribals
Sometimes I feel like there’s a format for certain seasons. I feel like if I was on the show I would realize it. Cambodia and Game Changers had the same format. 2 tribes of 10, 2 eliminations, tribe expansion into 3, 3 go home, dissolve into 2 tribes of 7 and 8, 2 leave, merge. Had they realized this, Ozzy would’ve gone for sure.
I don't know how a human being could be capable of spewing personal information about someone like he did. That was a total dick move, and I hope karma has paid him a visit many times over. That could have pushed a weaker person over the edge.
I don’t even think Varner is this horrible monster. He just was grasping at straws and made a really STUPID decision in the heat of the moment. The man is gay himself and I’m sure he has done lots of work for and supported gay/trans rights. I know where his heart is on the subject and on Zeke. He just absolutely made a rash, very wrong decision and I bet he has beaten himself up ever since and would take it back if he could. I respect Zeke for just wanting to be Zeke the survivor and not the token trans survivor.
Tina King I disagree completely. It was completely premeditated, as Varner himself admitted. Furthermore, his attempts at apologizing and comments after the show aired indicated that he still wasn’t truly contrite and if anything felt like he was the one who had been shortchanged, rather than taking responsibility for his despicable and depraved actions.
His logic made no sense, he tried to say Zeke is capable of deception but then quickly said "I'm not knocking him". Then what was the point of saying it?
@@marcpower4167 actually the real point is that Jeff assumed the worst in OTHER people. Jeff himself probably doesnt think being trans (or gay) is a bad thing so he isnt knocking Zeke.....But what he is doing is indirectly saying that he thinks other people would get horrified and feel lied to and then they would want to get rid of Zeke for being untrustworthy. And actually for his own Age as a 50 year old guy he isnt completely wrong. If Varner did this in the year 2001 when he first played the people would either be split 50/50 or the majority would even be on his side. But in the year 2017 people had evolved their thinking enough that they were all horrified by Jeff Varner and so this completely backfired on Varner. Varner was like if a guy grew up in the 1960s around prejudiced people and then in the 1990s made a completely racist remark about black people to win over some fellow white people. In his own mind he may or may not be racist but he certainly thinks the white people would be and they would like his comment....only he is too out of date. Varner may or may not be transphobic, but he certainly thought some or most of his tribemates would be. He actually thought way less of them than of Zeke.

Varner is the 2nd worst competitor ever to play Survivor, my list of Worst Competitors are as follows #1) Dan Spilo (WORST!!!). #2) Jeff Varner, #3) Colton Cumbie #4) Abi-Maria Gomes #5) Pete Yurkowski #6) Sophie Clarke

At first, he seemed passionate about standing up for trans people, but then he feels burdened, as if to say, “Oh, what do I have to do to get everyone to stop yelling at me”
He thought he was gonna save himself by throwing Zeke under the bus by outing him, He thought the tribe would be outraged at Zeke. He quickly realized it was an idiotic misfire and tried to go on damage control. Too late.
@@marcpower4167 but it was only a misfire because he is playing int he year 2017. This move would have worked when Varner first played in 2001. People back then would have thought trans people were weird and/or freaks and wanted Zeke out. What this episode showed is that trans became normalized by 2017 and the people defended Zeke. I'm sure Caitlyn Jenner had a lot to do with making trans normal.

@@Cheesecake0001 Game Changers is not 38. 38 is Edge of Extinction. Game Changers is 34.
Varner really? You let me down man. You were my favorite in Australia.
The original “you need to leave”
That's it. Sometimes you should just never say something because once you created the damage, you can never get it back. Honestly, I don't feel that he is really apologetic. Can't feel it.
Ozzy would have gone home had he not crossed that line
I bet Jeff instantly regretted asked Varner to "continue..."
I don't know how a human being could be capable of spewing personal information about someone like he did. That was a total dick move, and I hope karma has paid him a visit many times over. That could have pushed a weaker person over the edge.
Someone hug him damnit

The moment two men's lives changed forever
@Nathan Featherstone bruh why you gotta do that? What are you accomplishing?
Who's speaking at 1:42?
Ozzy
patar365 I’m trying to see that it was Ozzy, it is so hard to see lol
I remember watching this with my family when it aired
lol - crazy. Glad Zeke was able to respond and react in a positive way.
Zeke is a beautiful person
Oddly they are friends to this day he was truly sorry and went to therapy to get over this mistake
Jeff Probst: You’re SORRY??!?
You could see the disgust ripple through the casts' faces. 😬
I remember watching this tribal council when Jeff outed Zeke and I my reaction was "What the fuck" followed by Jeff is so definitely being voted out tonight.
This was a shock the night it aired
Varner is the 2nd worst competitor ever to play Survivor, my list of Worst Competitors are as follows
#1) Dan Spilo (WORST!!!).
#2) Jeff Varner,
#3) Colton Cumbie
#4) Abi-Maria Gomes
#5) Pete Yurkowski
#6) Sophie Clarke
Pete was entertaining though.
@@bomberdawesome No he wasn't, I hated how he planted the Idol clue in RC's bag, that was so UNNECESSARY!!!
@@thewachannel4537 Wasn't unnecessary since it worked in his favor. RC and Abi we're the closest so he needed to split them up. Not only was the way he split them up smart but it actually worked.
@@bomberdawesome those two were probably falling out with or without Pete planting the idol, he just so happened to light the match. Overall, it did help his game as he gained control of the tribe and had the numbers at the merge before Skupin and Lisa backstabbed him.
how on earth did Sophie make the list and yet Skupin didn't?
Omg I remember this. My jaw hit the floor when it happened and within a hour, social media went crazy.
Varner was fired the next day from his job.
Whenever people on these reality shows say "It's just a game" stuff like this, shows that it isn't.
Varner is such a fake ally. At first, he says “I fight for the rights of trans people every day. I would never hurt anyone here.” Then, two seconds later, he tells Jeff, “I’m arguing for my life. I feel like I have to throw everything at the wall.” It just sounds so inauthentic.
This made me cry. This didn’t need to happen. 🏳️⚧️
you cut it short..
I wonder what would have happened if Jeff went “Not so fast, I have a hidden immunity idol.”
This just changed his life forever..
there's an even longer version where Sarah spoke out against Varner as well idk why nobody uploaded it
Andrea crying made me cry. But dude so wrong for him to do that to Zeke.
Horrific. Poor Zeke. That asshole.
Tai comforting jeff
2:03 is the moment you realized he was not sorry at all....
How so?
I know Debbie is crazy but I loved her a lot in this moment.
I feel very bad for Zeke and he didn’t deserve it. But I also feel a little bad for Varner because he was very desperate and wanted to make the jury so bad and threw everything he could, it just was stupid what he did
This tribal began and I thought damn, Varner is on fire! Then just when I felt he was about to flip things, he went completely nuts. It's pretty much Michael Scott in The Office telling a killer joke, then immediately spoiling it by saying he'd shoot Toby twice over Hitler and Bin Laden.
He really thought he was making some slam dunk case for being kept on the island. “That’s not the intention I had.” Your intention was to throw someone under the bus to save yourself.
Doesn’t even look at him when he says he’s sorry
Just a hard tribal counsel to watch everyone was shocked and emotional as fuck. 😬
I can't believe this has so many views, I go out of my way to avoid this cursed tribal. When my husband was watching this season I literally left the room.
