I have my issues with the modern era, but it’s refreshing to hear how self-aware Jeff is. Makes it sort of easier knowing that it’s conscious decisions that are being made with the best intentions.
I love this interview so much. There is just so much passion from both Rob and Jeff about the game. It's why Survivor still works: the creators and fans still care after 45 seasons!
Rob and Jeff are two sides of the same coin. Watching them interact is like watching Batman and Superman; sometimes they fight, sometimes they disagree, but they both work together (either directly or from afar) toward a common goal: providing the best possible content for this show we all love so much.
Rob, you're always a great interviewer but let me just say, you killed this one! Questions so good that I think they impressed Jeff too. Perfect episode to have as 5000. Great Job!

Season40 was kind of a natural end to my survivor obsession, as it was already waning. However, couldn't help give this a listen. Congrats on 5k. I genuinely remember in jan/feb of 2020, you posted on facebook about you and Nicole doing a recap of the HvV premiere. The post has 3 likes, I was the 4th 🤣 Instantly hooked and Ive undoubtedly spent 10k+ hours listening and relistening to so many episodes. Gunna miss so many as its been years, but thanks rob, nicole, fishbach, shannon, mike bloooooooooom, Taran, Brent, Alex, Melissa, Jordan Parhar and SOOOO many more, not to mention the 100s of guests, for helping me through some dark times in the mid 2010s. Truly got into survivor when my mom was going through cancer on 2014/15. I would download seasons and binge them. it was my fuzzy blankent i needed at the time❤

You can tell your questions were extremely thoughtful. There were questions Jeff has never been asked! LOVE EVERY MINUTE OF THIS INTERVIEW! 💙💙💙 "Winners at War" was like Survivor's "Endgame." My whole family (mom, dad, & kids) has watched "Survivor" since season 7. I had "Survivor: All Stars" (Season 8) on DVD. I took pictures of the finale on my TV with a "Kodak" I dreamed of visiting Panama just because All Stars was filmed there. Yes, Jeff! As long as you like it that's all that matters. ❤ I want to meet Jeff, but I will NEVER play "Survivor," because I HATE the outdoors! 90 minute "Survivor" is PEAK! SO EXCITED it's back! You get to know players better. I can't forget Jake's "weight story" that only exists in a 90-minute format. ❤ LOVE that Jeff LOVES the audience! ❤ "They're loyal." ❤ Certain "Survivor" moments live rent-free in my head. ❤ "Survivor" 50: 2x as many players as normal like "The Hunger Games." LOVE that "Survivor" is still SHOCKING 20+ years later! ❤ "Make it impossible for the person who could win to win." THAT'S INTERESTING!!!!! ❤❤❤ SO EXCITED for S46!!! So very cool. Congratulations! I'm watching this a few hours before the new season begins. Am I excited? YES. And why am I excited? Some have had the same experience that I have had. And this ages me, but I watched the very first episode on the very first season. And I KNEW the show was a winner. I've watched every season and every episode of every year. I'm not obsessed like Rob. I don't have a perfect recall memory of every person on every show or season. But I have loved every season. Even the seasons that weren't really popular. I love it so much that I wish I could work on the show. The creative side. I have so many fun ideas that would work and be memorable. I do plan on sending on my ideas for the 50th show. And I have to send them now. Because they do plan ahead. And the 50th season has to be so Very special and Unique. I also would like to record my voice for the opening native song and "scream". Mostly they have men singing the theme. I can dream. Thank you Rob for making the special effort to get Jeff on your podcast. Rob you did a great interview. And Jeff even observed you had put a lot of effort into your questions. And you asked Jeff a question he had never been asked before. Again, way cool. Please thank Jeff for us. 5000 episodes, what an incredible milestone. Rob it's been a treat seeing your evolution over the years, I can't think of a more prolific content creator and somehow your passion never seems diluted. I love that you included the context of prior history with Jeff, which in light of his comments in this interview leads me to believe his prior reaction to you was heavily colored by some criticisms you had at the time that he must have taken quite personally. It's great to see the respect he has for you has grown as he's become more familiar with the podcasting side of things and also learned to detach from criticisms and take them both with a grain of salt but also as a suggestion for the product rather than an indictment of his ideas and his intent. Top notch everything, you guys are the best!

Rob this is so amazing and I know you are beyond freakin' out... after all these yrs Survivor is still one of my favorites... loved hearing Jeff talk about his job and show... love seeing him still so excited about the beginning to where we are now with the show... can't wait for the new season to start... hahahahahaha love that he said he's gonna bring back a little of his edge by stickin a knife in the bag of rice... lol I would love to see Jeff play a bit of the game like set up camp... light a fire... survive on a bit of rice and play some of the games... just to see him do it... 😆 Oh Rob was so excited to watch this that I forgot to tell you and your team congrats on your 5000th episode... way to go everyone much l.o.v.e.

I'm a lifelong fan of survivor but have only really discovered RHAP 2 years ago. I'm a big fan
So very cool. Congratulations! I'm watching this a few hours before the new season begins. Am I excited? YES. And why am I excited? Some have had the same experience that I have had. And this ages me,
but I watched the very first episode on the very first season. And I KNEW the show was a winner. I've watched every season and every episode of every year. I'm not obsessed like Rob. I don't have a perfect recall memory of every person on every show or season. But I have loved every season. Even the seasons that weren't really popular. I love it so much that I wish I could work on the show. The creative side. I have so many fun ideas that would work and be memorable. I do plan on sending on my ideas for the 50th show. And I have to send them now. Because they do plan ahead. And the 50th season has to be so Very special and Unique. I also would like to record my voice for the opening native song and "scream". Mostly they have men singing the theme. I can dream. Thank you Rob for making the special effort to get Jeff on your podcast. Rob you did a great interview. And Jeff even observed you had put a lot of effort into your questions. And you asked Jeff a question he had never been asked before. Again, way cool. Please thank Jeff for us. 5000 episodes, what an incredible milestone. Rob it's been a treat seeing your evolution over the years, I can't think of a more prolific content creator and somehow your passion never seems diluted. I love that you included the context of prior history with Jeff, which in light of his comments in this interview leads me to believe his prior reaction to you was heavily colored by some criticisms you had at the time that he must have taken quite personally. It's great to see the respect he has for you has grown as he's become more familiar with the podcasting side of things and also learned to detach from criticisms and take them both with a grain of salt but also as a suggestion for the product rather than an indictment of his ideas and his intent. Top notch everything, you guys are the best!
Wow this was so sweet. I literally was smiling the entire time. The survivor father and the survivor podfather bonding over their mutual love child. 😂 why can’t it be longer. Please Jeff invite Rob to be a guest on the On Fire Podcast, we need more.

Such a great conversation between you two, Rob. Jeff really is 'Survivor'. I wish Julie had Jeff's infectious enthusiasm and immersed herself into each season of Big Brother the way Jeff does with Survivor.
