B-Wing: Considering that even the characters in-universe have a hard time flying this ship, it’s probably a good idea that it’s not available to the players. T-70 X-Wing: “It’s not that different”. That’s likely why they didn’t include it in the first place. What incentive could they have to bring people to the T-70 if the more iconic and beloved T-65b is available? TIE/d Defender: This one is probably not in the game because of balance issues. It’s objectively the best version of the TIE series, and absolutely crushes whatever the Rebels throw at it. How do you balance that for a multiplayer game? Millennium Falcon: Again, balance. I could see it as something akin to hero units in Battlefront, but that removes the co-op team composition aspect. ARC-170: This required three people and an Astromech to fly properly, and wasn’t _really_ meant for frontline engagements anyway. Much like it’s special forces counterpart (ARC Troopers), it’s arguable that it wasn’t utilized properly in its initial deployments. Just because it _can_ dish out a lot of damage doesn’t mean it’ll make w good dogfighter.

That’s 50m long by 50m wide target probably unlikely.. But you Might see a Fang class starfighter once modding starts.. it’s a little brother of the Kom’rk ..
The TIE advanced v1 did appear in the game but it was piloted by Lindon Javes when he defected from the Empire and was not available to be piloted by the player (likely because it would have been too powerful and unbalanced for normal gameplay).
@@EyeOfMagnus4E201 I think you over thinking it little bit. Yeah you are probably right the TIE advance would be OP, but i honestly think it would be easily fix by adding another game mode. Have a elimination mode that goes for 5 or the best of 7, the only starfighter you can fly is the Tie Advance or Defender vs New Republic equivalent superiority fighter like the E-wing. It somewhat fits the canon and we all have the chance fly or favorite fighter. P.S I want to fly the x1 not the v1
NewtMeister J Flying the x1 would be cool, and likely would be even better than the v1. Hopefully they’ll eventually make a game with a longer single player campaign (where balance wouldn’t be a concern) where you can have a much better variety of ships to choose from, including the TIE Advanced and E wing.
I think it depends on how they handle the cloaking device- charge time, how long does the cloak hold, firing (or maneuvering) while its on... and if there were reasonable trade offs, (was it more fragile than most TIE models, scanner deadzones due to interference from the cloak, etc), I could see it working well.
Also depends on how they are going about adding legends ships to canon. I think it would be cool to see them get added through this medium, but not sure if the Disney overlords will allow it
@@bobbuilder1009 I think you would just make an interceptor and its characteristics would be that it is slower, has shields, remove heal loadout and replace with cloaking. Could work nicely.
the v wing with the ungodly speedy boost and rkt pods. good lordy that would be amazing but a bit broken and i would say yes to the naboo starfighter though i would more so love to see the police cruiser variant both bigger slower and more armor at the cost of shields it had dumb-fire concussion missiles and a nice timed laser system i would love to see that.
The V-wing was only an airspeeder, so no in space battles for it. And do we really need another snowspeeder vs AT-AT level? I've been tripping those things up since the Shadows of the Empire days on the N64. lol
The Composite Beam used by the Prototype B-Wing is the same weapon available in Squadrons - the Quarrie Composite Beam Cannon, although it is used by both the Rebels and the Empire. You can tell since the name of the Mol Cal creator is in the weapon's name.
If you played Star Wars Starfighter you know the pain of flying a B Wing like craft. Its not fun with a large hitbox that is in your blindspot. The Arc-170 is based off of the Black widow night fighter.
I believe the cockpit view of a B Wing is also hard to render because of the rotating cockpit design (render one that don't "rotate" would most likely upset many SW fan players)
The arc 170 actually reminds me of the p-61 black widow, I similarly set up American night fighter which excelled where it was, sporting a radar, new to fighters. The arc 170 should've been made black and stealthy and it wouldve been been perfect
The problem with that is, despite having recon in it's name, the ARC 170 is generally far better as a fighter than as a scouting or recon vehicle. Due to this, I would actually say giving it stealth capabilities would be a waste.
@@blurb9319 if its sensors are powerful enough it would be good for recon. As a bonus its competition in the clone wars and in the Galactic civil war dont have the range the Arc-170 has.
Yep in the orginal tie fighter game the defender was a god overpowered ship with lasers , ion cannons, missles, and tractor beam. A wings were cake if you could get a tractor lock on them and shoot them like fish in a barrel.
Bomber classes are usually THE overpowered ship in star wars space combat from the last 15 years or so. Tanks that dish out the damage of an interceptor AND can decimate capital ship systems? Yes please.
4 ships to add in 2 dlc packages here you go EA *New Republic* *B-Wing* : Dont worry about fixing the gyroscope cockpit, simply fix it in position and the craft is fine the way it is doesnt need complicated control scheme. *Imperials* *Alpha Class X-G Assault Gunboat* : Pay homage to the games roots of xwing vs tie fighter and bring this classic back. Same role as bwing heavy attack craft. 2nd DLC *Rebels* *Z-95 Headhunter* : high powered armour and heavy blasters for medium long range engagements. As well as boom and zoom tactics. *Imps* *Tie Defender or Tie Advanced* : Same tactics as above mention z95 I would love to have a trench mode, involving attacking an enemy base. That would be awesome.
I half agree with the first 2 choices but the XG-1 is very different from the B-Wing. the TIE Brute is a more direct answer to it, also I would say that giving it a complicated control scheme would be a good way to balance it, make the Y-Wing and TIE Bomber easier to fly, and the B-Wing / TIE Brute a high point of entry. I VEHEMENTLY Disagree with the Z-95, it's NOT high powered at ANYTHING, it's weaker than the A-Wing and slower than the X-Wing, while having the lowest firepower of any rebel ship. it's a low tier ship that would only work if it had a lower morale cost to your team if destroyed. The TIE Defender is the opposite, it's SUPERIOR AT EVERYTHING that the others specialize in, so it would either A) require it's own mode and/or B) would have a MUCH higher morale cost if destroyed. Possibly making the difference between full morale and falling back entirely.
@@moffxanatos6376 I'm not talking about actual stats. I'm talking about DLC add ons for this game. You got the info, that's great. But Brute isnt Canon. I was discussing more so options that are actually available. And the control scheme with the BWing the only thing I can think on the consoles for the control is changing the "view" right analog click would be the rotation button. HOWEVER with the amount of things you have to do in this game constantly, adding rotational hull, most gamers wont beable to comprehend it. Let alone some pilots. It was the hardest starfighter to fly in the republic navy for a reason.
@@moffxanatos6376 in argument of the Z-95 because I agree it is underpowered (i just personally like the design of either the original or clones wars version) perhaps a augmented ARC-170 updated for the republic. With Rear gunner it's an interesting option.
You know having specific missions like Co-Op from Battlefront 2 where these ships can be used in their specific scenario could be really cool. Like a Hoth mission with Snow Speeders, or a blockade running mission.
If they gave us T-70 and T-85s at all, I'd love it if they were just reskinned X-Wings. Plain old model change, no rebalancing or adding another ship to the Imperial side needed, just a fresh model. Keep content simple and frequent, and I'd be so happy
T-70 prototypes were actually introduced at the time and I think they could counterbalance TIE Defender. Not a chance for T-85'e, as it is way before its time, even if it is amazing.
@@meeperdudeify You didn't know that his controls were actually cybernetic toe implants>???? On point, yeah I think more skins would solve a lot of the problems. The hitbox size difference doesn't matter as the game makes the hitboxes bigger than the craft already. I think the model for the newer versions would at most make that even more obvious.
@@ObliviousNaga that would be a REAL first person flying exoerience. You dont experience it from the pilot, you see it from the ships perspective. Like the Vulture droid, either a fighter or an interceptor, and instead of a cockpit, you just have a stylized hud. I want the Vulture almost as much as the TIE Defender or Phantom.
@@red9mm it would be interesting to see if they will add legends ships like the punisher. Would love to see it, not sure if Disney overlords will allow it
I think it's a pretty good selection "For Now" considering the attention to detail both outside and the great looking inside even the area behind the cockpit which isn't ever seen without a VR headset. Let's hope to get more ships as time goes on.
Having a rear gunner for the Y-wing would be good also. You are almost a sitting duck when attacking a capital ship. Good to have eyes in the back of your head. You can still have 5 ships but have back seaters in Y-wing and 2 gunners in the falcon and copilot in the reaper and U-Wing could increase the fun level and reduce the risk to the supply ships and Canon fodder.
@@meeperdudeify self deployed tractor beams do that lock on to a pice of debris and 90 degree turn... right into the other side of it. Yea every thing slower you down its annoying but there you have it.
Game studios often think that playing "just a gun turret" wouldn't interest people, but in all the games that have the capability I find it a lot of fun. It makes it a better game for the pilots of larger ships and you have to adjust to what someone else is doing on your own ship. I mark it as a highly desirable feature in a game.
@@Michael_Archer78 2 seater bomber one flies and shoots while one controls payload. The ships are what they are. Shielded Rebel ships and over powered laser Imps.
If I am going to be a non-force using pilot then set me up with with a Legends TIE Hunter. It's the Sienar version of the X-Wing. It: Is as fast or even faster than an A-Wing Has ion cannons and several proton torpedoes Is equipped with a hyperdrive and shields It is very arguably the best fighter in its era. Otherwise, send me the TIE Silencer if I can use the force. Despite the trilogy it comes from, that thing is an overpowered race car.
@Amber Hoke No I'm saying that if the mission is to escort a B-wing to the target then why would you use a bomber to protect a B-wing, which is also made for anti capital ship. I suppose you can outfit a bomber with anti-fighter armaments but its not very popular approach to the class.
theres no *way* to add it to the game and do it justice, either it will be super nerfed in the name of balance which i really dont want, or just be better than every other ship in the game at pretty much every role like id love it to be there but I can never see it being balanced with whatever rebel ship they add as its counterpart
@@ImperialZorn686 a B wing has similar amount of firepower, but is far far slower and less manoverable The tie D just is so insanely ovrrspecced it can match a b wing in firepower, an A wing in speed, a Tie inteceptor in manoverability and a Y wing in shields All at once
My X-wing setup is basically a b-wing, it has -60 maneuverability, Iona and proton torpedoes but I’m currently averaging 80,000 capitol ship damage per game.
Wish they had a ‘free-for-all’ mode that would allow you to choose whatever craft you want so they have an excuse to add a bunch of random ships as DLC.
TIE Ripper is Empire Assault Craft. Contrary to old video games movies actually use that term properly. Look Acclimator Assault Ship. TIE Advance was a Snubfighter similarly like TIE Defender.
E-Wing, Tie Defender, Tie Advanced, Tie Phantom to name a few. The Missile Boat that Thrawn designed would be epic as well or the Star Wing please. A "comment section" version of this would be great btw. ;)
While only Vader is shown flying one, I suspect the TIE Advanced, a precursor to the TIE Interceptor, should also be available, possibly as a reconnaissance fighter (as it supposedly did have shields and a hyperdrive.) It should be a challenging alternative option....
It's not a dogfighter. It can survive runs on capitol ships. You have to play it smart and working in groups is preferred, but it is definitely a capable ship. The gyroscope design made it a lot of fun in the old game :) As with any ship, the balancing in the game makes it fun (or not).
@@dreamcoyote I'm remembering Rogue Squadron on the N64 and the Y wing missions especially the Raid on Sullest where some of the hardest missions because you where such an easy target for the SAM turrets and the Tie Fighters. But now I suppose that could be mitigated with having escort fighters.
I have an idea for new starfighter classes that would incorporate these: Stealth/Recon - focused on surprise strikes. TIE Phantom and ARC - 170/V-wing Gunship - focused on heavy weaponry, removes few AI fighters from battle when deployed. TIE Defender and B-Wing
Maybe add just 3rd party faction(s) like Hutt cartel, Merc groups (mandos/sun guard), Black Sun, Zahn Consortium, Pirate groups (think Uglies/cheap/scrap craft), maybe rouge/rival Imp elements/factions, Yuuzhan Vong, and other gallatic govs like the Hapans, Corporate Security Sector, Chiss, hell you even have other eras pre republic, clone wars, second gallatic civil war. Never cared for the ship designs in the Legacy era 150ABY (Cade Skywalker's time)
The TIE Brute would be a fun addition to the game with that heavy cannon. However, I think the issue was that it hasn't been featured heavily, and when it did show up, it was in a movie that wasn't as acclaimed.
All the TIE cockpits from Rogue One and Solo, are new cockpits instead of the original cockpit from the Original Star Wars films. The targeting system is different.
Ome Fighter I would like to see is the Tie Hunter. These fighters where featured on the old Rougue Squadron Games and was a sort of mix between an X-Wing and Tie Fighter. It had the speed and maneuverability an Interceptor but more firepower and was perfect for disabling ships with its dual ion cannons.
There's a model of the Tie Advance in the first story mode mission. I feel it'll be easy to put it in multiplayer. B-Wing can join that as the "elite" category which is paid through with points. I REALLY want the defender to be in the game as in my opinion it is the best star fighter in cannon but at this point there wouldn't be too many if any left.
Don't forget the Defender's brother and cousin, respectively the TIE Avenger and Xg-1 Star Wing Assault Gunboat. The Defender is a slight upgrade, or possibly just a sidegrade to these two. In the Avenger's case, due to its significantly smaller profile, slightly better agility, and ever so slightly lower price, and for the Assault Gunboat due to lower price, much higher armor than any TIE, lower agility, and loadout versatility. The TIE Hunter would also fit in with this crowd, though compared even the Defender it was exceptionally rare due to being a Spec Ops support weapon.
Thanks for another great video Allen! I have finally subscribed and am finally commenting. I very much appreciate your inclusion of the Tie Defender, as back when I was in college I was flying through all of the missions from the original LucasArts Tie Fighter game, which I highly recommend to all readers. Definitely had the best set of storylines of the series, including large parts of Thrawn's original "Legends" backstory, as he advances from Vice Admiral to Grand Admiral through the course of the game, eventually defeating a coup attempt by another grand admiral and then taking his place. But, the best thing about that game was the original introduction of the Tie Defender, complete with it's "Legends" backstory. Though I completely understand that your exposition on the Tie Defender was based entirely on the current cannon, this is one of those places where Legends just has a better story. I do say that admitting that the new cannon tells a very good story about Thrawn & the Tie Defender (respect to Star Wars Rebels), but the legends version that you get to play out in the Tie Fighter game is even better, at least in my view. When I finally met all mission goals and secondary objectives in the mission where you fly a Tie Defender as Darth Vader's wingman to rescue the Emperor who had been captured by the traitorous Grand Admiral, well, that was just one of those Star Wars gaming moments that sticks with you. You know what I'm talking about. Thanks Again!
One thing I'd like to add is the civilian Z-95 Headhunter. In Legends, the ship was so ubiquitous that Rebels could use it to blend in, whenever they needed to avoid notice. In this game, you could, for instance, use that to ambush Imperial ships hiding in what they think it neutral ground, or even have the rest of your squadron (in normal Rebel ships) engage the enemy while you, in the Z-95 and looking like a neutral, sniff out the deadliest threat and stab him in the back when his attention is directed elsewhere. I can picture that being fun.
Maybe add the air speeder and v-wing airspeeder from the old N64 rouge squadron for any in atmosphere missions if there are any I don't have the game so don't know
@@radekvaverka7285 that was the same one flown by the magnaguards if I'm not mistaken. Would love to see that one for the CIS in a clone wars expansion
I say don't make them Hero ships. Get YT-1300's, KSE Firespray Gunships, and a VCX-100 light freighter? No need to drag in characters that shouldn't be there. Those ships were fairly common as trading ships, which is why smugglers and terrorist cells (rebellion forces) used them. Though if you go by the Bounty Hunter trilogy, the KSE Firespray was a one-off prototype, but that hasn't ever stopped anything before in the Star Wars universe... Remember the 1000 Jedi's running around in Star Wars Galaxies?
I love my Y-Wing... Going all the way back the the first Rouge Squadron. Love being able to customize it and fit it with what I want. I tend to us it in both dogfights and fleet battles. I love my setup though, heavy rotary cannon, ion auto cannon, goliath missiles, dampener hull, ray shields with a slam engine... Does pretty well if I say so myself. Lol
Yes absolutely. Flying that enormous thing, like it's a fighter jet, through giant trees 3-to-12 miles tall would make it look like a huge bug, and would be too awesome cool for polite words to clearly describe, but be fun to try. .while gasping for breath after the expireance.
LOL, Uglies would be so hard to implement, but that would be so fun. Slapping random bits together to make pirate ships. Loved the X-Wing book series. Can we get an Ewok puppet to fly a TIE as well? :D
I would love to fly a Lambda Shuttle. It was one of my alltime favourites and could work as a support (atleast in my eyes). The Tie Defender and B-Wing would be also neat to have.
Imagine a mechanic for Fleet Battles where as a Lambda Shuttle you could approach the Flagship and drop-off a boarding party that destroys the ships systems from the inside over time
You’d actually probably be fine, the shields and hull of those things are insane and you’d have 3 turrets and 4 heavy cannons, and enough bombs to one shot any ship.
Supreme RTS no it agrees, the first bomber takes 7 full TiE SF strafing runs for a total of nearly 40 direct hits from heavy laser cannons before it begins to go down. Cobalt Hammer, the ship that made the bombing run, lost its cockpit, central hull, two turrets, and its shields and still delivered the payload. These things are tough as nails, and with older imperial tech, would be even harder to take down.
I don’t think it should be a question of what should be added, it should be a question of how many. Rogue Squadron that came out in 1998 managed to give us 11 playerble ships. 12 if you count the AT-ST. In total of all 3 games they had 24 playerble ships in total including the AT-ST. Yet Squadrons only has what? 8 playable ships. Even Battlefront 2 has more playerble ships in it then Squadrons. This game has so much potential, they really should be adding as much as they possibly can into that game to keep it going. Along with eras. A game of this age should at least have more playable ships then the first and original Rogue Squadron game.
Robert Harris I forget about the 2 support ships. That’s why i said “yet Squadrons only has what?” Notice the question mark. That is still 4 ships less on launch then a 22 year old game that had 12 on launch
B-Wing, E-Wing, K-Wing, Z-95 Head Hunter, Tie Advanced, Tie Defender, XG-1 Star Wing, Imperial Missileboat, Tie Phantom. Ground battles where we have the option to use T-47 airspeeders and Tie Strikers
I would love for them to fit in the Mandalorian starfighter, and maybe thrown in a game mode where you're only ship options are Clone wars era ships(not sure how they'd render the cockpit for droid fighters), but I'd love to haul ass in ETA-2.
More ships would be cool, but if there's one I'd disagree with it'd be the Millennium Falcon. Don't really see "hero" type ships like that fitting into the way Squadrons works. The T-70 exemplifies the perfect kind of change I like to see in fictional equipment like starfighters - nothing drastic, just some reasonable improvements on a classic design. A small step up, but a step all the same. I'd also love to get the ARC-170 or any other, older fighters to use. I understand they wouldn't be very common after the battle of Endor but if the Y-Wing, Gozanti-class, and Arquitens-class can still be used despite their age, there's no reason other ships from previous eras should be excluded.
Using The Deathtroopers painting from SWG in reference to Han and Chewie being everywhere. Kind of surprised to see artwork from SWG in this, that was cool.
My list 1: z-95 head hunter (a Early x wing with less fire power to spice it up e wing is another potential ship but I prefer the head hunter ) 2: b wing ( it is needed) 3: tie defender 4: tie phantom 5: v wing ( while I like the arc 170 it's size would leave it massively vulnerable and with the side wings and relatively small vision it could be the rebellions tie fighter of sorts )
I don't know if it was mentioned but, in the Rogue squadron games for the N64, the Falcon was one of the ships you could select for a particular missions and was much more durable than just about anything in the Rebel Arsenal.
Look you, I heard that fighter pilot disdain for the bomber crews but damnit, I will always love two ships; the Blockade Runner and the Y-Wing. Been there since jump.
Considering the fact that Star Wars Squadrons is an homage to the X-Wing vs Tie Fighter series of games from the 90’s, I would love to see the Tie Advanced Avenger, the Cygnus Assault Gunboat and maybe some other signature craft like the Imperial Shuttle, the Snowspeeder, the Outrider, the B-Wing, The V-Wing and the Tie/D automated fighter
Top ship classes I think this game needs (I put ship classes for both factions) 1:heavy assault bomber B-wing/TIE brute 2: heavy support ships Scavenged CR:70/ Gozanti class 3:Spec ops ships TIE advanced/E-Wing 4:Advanced bomber K-Wing/ TIE defender 5:Recon ships ARC170/ TIE phantom Let me know what you think
Tie Advanced would fit very well with current ships. It could run at the same speed or slower than a Tie Fighter with a weaker hull but shields I love the idea of the Tie Defender too Another good Tie would be the Ties from Force Awakens - Use the special forces tie and replace the missiles with an Ion cannon mounted underneath the cockpit B-Wings are pretty awesome but I think with the Y-Wing it would be so much of the same as far as weapons platform and role. The B-wing is a heavy bomber similar to the Y-Wing The Z95-Headhunter could be a good ship to add as a lighter faster fighter over the X-wing but limited punch compared to the X-wing E-Wing could be a good fit a fighter that is different in design but a bit more robust over the A-Wing in punch and survival
Would love to pilot an N1 Naboo Starfighter personally. Those are beautiful little ships, but if I had to make a choice between that or a B-Wing? B-Wing hands down. Yes it's slower and less maneuverable but when you're a one man operated B-17 bomber, you are basically just the flipside of an A-Wing superiority fighter.
Wanting the Millenium Falcon gave me an idea for a different Game Mode. Something like Convoy defense might be fun. One team would be defending a small group of transport ships while the other was focused on wiping them out. Maybe the attackers have a carrier that moves on the edge of the map
I'd want nothing more than to fly a Jedi Actus interceptor, a twilight look a like, and the Ghost. I also absolutely need the ability to have custom astromechs on the rebellion side and maybe sometype of assisting AI for the empire (Holo type)
If the ARC-170 is on the table then the entirety of the Clone Wars starfighter lineup should also be available. The Rebellion/New Republic may have gotten to the point of being able to be picky but if a squadron of newly liberated Naboo starfighters shows up you use them.
The ARC-170 reminds me of the P-61 Black Widow, largest plane purpose built with the "P" (Pursuit) designation in WWII and as a night fighter. Size of a medium bomber, ie. the B-25 Mitchell and B-26 Marauder, with a pilot, gunner, and radar operator.
Play TIE Fighter! You get to fly the Defender and a couple really awesome Imperial ships. You get to fight against the B-Wing which sucks when they are attacking you but you can sit behind them easily even in a TIE Bomber. Just play TIE Fighter. LOL
My first time in PVP squadron vs squadron (not fleet battle), i spent nearly 20 minutes in an A-wing, chasing a Tie-Interceptor up, down, around, between asteroids on the map that i cant think of the name of but is mostly red with red/black asteroids floating around in it. Literally, 20 minutes, at full thrust, making split-second decisions/movements while weaving in, out, around, these giant rocks, knowing that the speeds we were going meant any full-on impact would have resulted in a instant death. Was the most fun i have had in that game Yet, and my ONE regret, is that i was not streaming at that time (was playing with a few friends off-cast). What i did NOT realize, and was only told later by one of those friends.. Is that while i was chasing that 1 Tie Interceptor, i had his ENTIRE TEAM chasing 'me' to try to save him. So it was 1 Tie Interceptor, my A-wing, and then 4 other Imperial craft all in a ball.... for 20 minutes of non-stop, full-throttle, flying :D It finally ended when i finally managed to land enough of my Ion bolts into his ship to cause it to loose power, which then caused it to bounce off an asteroid and then into the missile i had fired (it took a while to land enough shots as we were hardly ever 'strait' for any length of time). Then i took 1 second to take a breath, then had to bank hard behind another rock as someone (one of the 4 ships behind me i didnt know was chasing after me the whole time) pinged my rear-shields and it was back into the fray again :D
Well, as we are now the B-Wing & Tie Defender are in the game. I agree with the rest of the list, except for the ARC-170. What I would like to see in the game is both the Jedi Starfighters, the Delta-7 and the Eta-2. Especially the Delta-7. I mainly fly the A-Wing in Squadrons. And of course...Naboo N1...what an absolute beauty!
Xg-1 Star Wing/ Alpha class gunboat. It was an absolute monster in Star Wars X-wing vs TIE Fighter. It would be a good addition to the Imperial side and help push the B-wing onto the Rebel side. ARC 170s for both sides would be the most fair addition. Multi-crew ships would be a lot of fun, but I suppose that'll have to wait for a different game.
During online play, I'd like to use my earned currency to choose a "Special Fighter." These could include many of the ships we see throughout Star Wars, including both variants of the Jedi Starfighter, the TIE/SF, TIE/PR, V-Wing, ect. This way EA doesn't have to jump through hoops, not do too much work, and they can improve their reputation.
I few up as a kid playing that Lucas Arts Tie Fighter game from the mid 90s. And I'd love to be able to fly a Tie Defender again. That thing was amazing.
I’m gonna be honest, I would absolutely kill for the imperials to get the phantom and the defender, and the rebels to get b wings and maybe a jump master just because those would be really interesting.
On the New Republic it would be cool to see an E-wing (though that may be too far ahead in time) or conversely going back the other direction, having an Arc-170 (can't remember if I'm spelling that right) would be pretty awesome too.
Bwing is basically a Ywing but better in every way. TIE Defender is the TIE that can take on anything Treat both as superheavies, and balance thru reapawn cooldown.
Surprise E wing or Tie Advance wasn't mention.

I think it depends on how they handle the cloaking device- charge time, how long does the cloak hold, firing (or maneuvering) while its on... and if there were reasonable trade offs, (was it more fragile than most TIE models, scanner deadzones due to interference from the cloak, etc), I could see it working well.

If you played Star Wars Starfighter you know the pain of flying a B Wing like craft. Its not fun with a large hitbox that is in your blindspot. The Arc-170 is based off of the Black widow night fighter.
Barry Bend Besides looking like a six-winged X-wing, there’s always been something about the ARC-170 that looked familiar.
You mean the P-61?
I believe the cockpit view of a B Wing is also hard to render because of the rotating cockpit design (render one that don't "rotate" would most likely upset many SW fan players)
@@sonickunckle hence why I mentioned the Guardian Mantis from Star wars Starfighter. Its like a B Wing but in a static position.

*Rebels*
*Z-95 Headhunter* : high powered armour and heavy blasters for medium long range engagements. As well as boom and zoom tactics.
*Imps*
*Tie Defender or Tie Advanced* : Same tactics as above mention z95
I would love to have a trench mode, involving attacking an enemy base.

Missile Gunboat from the Tie Fighter game would be great, too!
I am remembering Gunboats being a part of the Empire in the X-Wing game. Are gunboats in Squadons? If not, they should be!

The V-wing whould be nice itt could give the empire a fighter with a astromech and a better Window.
Maybe add the air speeder and v-wing airspeeder from the old N64 rouge squadron for any in atmosphere missions if there are any I don't have the game so don't know
If they would do that, they probably would also add TIE Striker :D

It has 8 playable fighters... where fuq you get 6?

1: z-95 head hunter (a Early x wing with less fire power to spice it up e wing is another potential ship but I prefer the head hunter )
2: b wing ( it is needed)
3: tie defender
4: tie phantom
5: v wing ( while I like the arc 170 it's size would leave it massively vulnerable and with the side wings and relatively small vision it could be the rebellions tie fighter of sorts )
8:55 the tie avenger...?
I don't know if it was mentioned but, in the Rogue squadron games for the N64, the Falcon was one of the ships you could select for a particular missions and was much more durable than just about anything in the Rebel Arsenal.
I agree back in the rogue squadron days the B wing was my favorite thing to fly
I would really like to see the TIE Phantom, it's design and capabilities are my favorite over most other spaceships.
Top ship classes I think this game needs (I put ship classes for both factions)
1:heavy assault bomber
B-wing/TIE brute
2: heavy support ships
Scavenged CR:70/ Gozanti class
3:Spec ops ships
TIE advanced/E-Wing
4:Advanced bomber
K-Wing/ TIE defender
5:Recon ships
ARC170/ TIE phantom
Let me know what you think
Fun fact: the design of the ARC-170 was in part based off the WWII era Northrop P-61 Black Widow night fighter of the U.S. Army Air Corps.
Tie Advanced would fit very well with current ships. It could run at the same speed or slower than a Tie Fighter with a weaker hull but shields
I love the idea of the Tie Defender too
Another good Tie would be the Ties from Force Awakens - Use the special forces tie and replace the missiles with an Ion cannon mounted underneath the cockpit
B-Wings are pretty awesome but I think with the Y-Wing it would be so much of the same as far as weapons platform and role. The B-wing is a heavy bomber similar to the Y-Wing
The Z95-Headhunter could be a good ship to add as a lighter faster fighter over the X-wing but limited punch compared to the X-wing
E-Wing could be a good fit a fighter that is different in design but a bit more robust over the A-Wing in punch and survival
I have two starfighers that i'd love to see added to the game
Rebel side: Naboo Starfighter
Imperial side: Tie Hunter
Wanting the Millenium Falcon gave me an idea for a different Game Mode. Something like Convoy defense might be fun. One team would be defending a small group of transport ships while the other was focused on wiping them out. Maybe the attackers have a carrier that moves on the edge of the map
Do a video on The Starhawk Battleship vs The Resurgence class Battle cruiser who would win in a fight
I would like to see the star viper, Mandalorian fang fighter, and the skipper
blast boat
The ARC-170 reminds me of the P-61 Black Widow, largest plane purpose built with the "P" (Pursuit) designation in WWII and as a night fighter. Size of a medium bomber, ie. the B-25 Mitchell and B-26 Marauder, with a pilot, gunner, and radar operator.
Appreciate mentioning the ARC-170 :) My all time favorite.
Play TIE Fighter! You get to fly the Defender and a couple really awesome Imperial ships. You get to fight against the B-Wing which sucks when they are attacking you but you can sit behind them easily even in a TIE Bomber. Just play TIE Fighter. LOL
Motive: Here’s the B-Wing that you guys wanted.
Fans: YEY!
In-game - *Almost nobody uses it*
My first time in PVP squadron vs squadron (not fleet battle), i spent nearly 20 minutes in an A-wing, chasing a Tie-Interceptor up, down, around, between asteroids on the map that i cant think of the name of but is mostly red with red/black asteroids floating around in it.
So it was 1 Tie Interceptor, my A-wing, and then 4 other Imperial craft all in a ball.... for 20 minutes of non-stop, full-throttle, flying :D
It finally ended when i finally managed to land enough of my Ion bolts into his ship to cause it to loose power, which then caused it to bounce off an asteroid and then into the missile i had fired (it took a while to land enough shots as we were hardly ever 'strait' for any length of time).
The arc-170 is a P-61 black widow in a sense, just because it’s heavier and slower to maneuver doesn’t make it any less fun to fly.
I loved the B-wing since Rebel Assault 2 on the PS1. If I remember correctly the cockpit detached as an escape pod!
I hope this game is so popular that they add DLCs for it different eras would be awesome
@@davidordaz5251 true ...a planetary map would be great
On the New Republic it would be cool to see an E-wing (though that may be too far ahead in time) or conversely going back the other direction, having an Arc-170 (can't remember if I'm spelling that right) would be pretty awesome too.
Bwing is basically a Ywing but better in every way.
TIE Defender is the TIE that can take on anything
Treat both as superheavies, and balance thru reapawn cooldown.
