Thanks! Just noodling around with the sounds and whatever comes to mind. If a sound reminds me of some riff, I try to play it, but not too long. Otherwise I'm not actually thinking about the copyright control stuff 🙂
Love to see those vintage D-XX's worked into modern setups - still find the 20 engine keeps up sound-wise? Would be very interested in hearing a few 2-voice jams paired with that Kobol sound!
The D-20 has some great sounds, but I feel they are not as good as on the D-50. I'm planning to do a comparison between the D-50 and D-20 soon, after which I probably will let go of the D-20 (since furthermore D-50 has aftertouch which the D-20 lacks).
Yes, it is really a pity. I understand the 5-pin midi is too big (this is really, really small), but they could have offered a TRS midi plug. Now I had to connect the JT-4000 to my laptop, running Dynareg's browser based JU-06 app (where I connected the JU-06A to feed the JT) and then still running a 5-pin midi cable from my D-20 to the JU-06A to feed midi to the JT. Not very convenient.
@@dreamwalks8200 Probably yes. Not enough with a hub, you will need a device working as a USB host. And if you want a portable setup for live gigs that is another box you have to carry around. And I think it is really nice being able to connect new devices with 40-year old ones, without extra wiring, boxes or hassle. But this is a 50-euro synth, so I still think it is a great value for the money. I would have appreciated TRS MIDI in/out. USB MIDI will work great, when manufacturers have taken care of isolation problems, but now people seem to run into that very often.
Lovely demo!
Just got mine today and it really goes a lot deeper than expected
Thanks! I've never played the JP-8000, would be nice to hear your views on how well JT-4000 stands up to it!
@@patsonmusic Well with Jamuary coming up I am sure I will be able to put it to the test!
@@CarfDarkoplease do! I’d love to hear a side by side
Nice job avoiding copyright! Great video!

A decent ebay seller just got these (retail price + $10 shipping), I ordered one - looking forward to it, thanks for demoing, it sounds great.
Thanks! Hopefully you'll enjoy that little beast!
Great demo!
Thanks! 😊

Pity it does not have 5 pin midi. They did not think it through. If this thing would have the 5 pin midi, it would sell 50 000 copies more, easily.

there are 5 PIN to USB MIDI hubs. USB MIDI is probably the future anyway.

@@patsonmusic I agree it will take some time until it is conveniently useable. But it will be most probably.
@@dreamwalks8200 not hubs, hosts
Passes as a usuable synth.
It is very usable, indeed. And considering this is a 50 euro/dollar/quid synth, I think it is worth trying out!
