Seemly, at the low rate I'm able to build my little moving studio racks, al those Synths will be on the market, and the choice is so, more hard, it takes me time to listen videos where the artistic side is expressed in a way I can know they are my instruments. Actuall, from Behringer, I have the Deepmind 12D, a great expander that can use integrated effects and a machine matrix, and I'm very pleased with that. My next will be mono expanders, kobol, wasp, first, and here I've seen few others I would love to be in store, because of their particular designs. More, some poly expanders I stand for, makes me in trouble, as I Have to build my wood racks, with some expander that will not feat eurorack format, so need me to find very adaptable rack designs (like bying two B2600, or hoping for an UBxa expander, or dimanteling one to keep also the Poly aftertouch kb, and integrate in a vertical rack the pannel. How ever this is the project I have when I will have the money to buy the B monoply, and the B SH5. So question about time, money, hoping all that will be avaible in stores, along😮 2025, in hard times we are.❤
I have my MS-5 for almost two weeks now. I live in Poland and am common folk, not an influencer or anything that would push me in front of line. The only thing I did is to click order around one day after Thomann enabled ordering, since this one is kind of my dream synth. Sooo... :]
Most of us are just common people. I personally work 60 hours per week to support my hobby and life. 2 kids and a wife. I’m happy to see musicians able to get gear to help them move their musical career forward.
I don't care what the haters say. I love Behringer. There are at least two of these now on my list. The JT-16 and the LMDrum - for sure. And that JT-16 is soooooo pretty.
The only thing that really bugs me about these clones is the omission of simple features that would greatly enhance the sound, eg: On their P5 clone if they implemented on / off / *inverted* switches for each of the waveforms, similar to the T-mixer or Pearlman oscillator, instead of just on / off switches, it would effectively allow the oscillators to produce 19 more waveforms than the original. The lack of optional multitimbrality with separate outs on their polyphonic clones is also a major oversight.
I'm waiting for the Proton (by the way a more recent photo with Uli and two factory workers + several pre production Protons was shown by Behringer just a week ago), and the PRO 16. Btw the Proton is not meant as a follow up, but as a companion, a bit like the edge and crave etc.. it is said to be quite a different synth than the Neutron.
@@frallorfrallor3410 It is an original for sure :-) but even if it was a clone of a classic, I'd still like it, as the original classics are very hard to get at ridiculous prices, Behringer is bringing this into range of many more people. So in other words you need to buy cheap synths because you buy 8K worth of subs, that your channel barely is able to get 100 views per vid? Yes makes sense now.

It’s physically impossible for many of these to be exact replicas of the original circuits (but have 3 times as many voices). What they mean is they are schematically identical circuits but packaged into integrated circuits, etc. But this means that they don’t share the same thermal drift, or voice to voice tolerance imperfections of the originals which is why they have to add things like the atrophy modes to the UB-Xa. It comes down to your definition of identical.
This is why when you do make something electronically more compact, you lose the essence of the original. Also the UBXa is based on the OBX, which sounds less inviting than the otehr Oberhiems. Like you said, more voices doesn't make it better, the Teo 5 sounds much thicker and pleasant, but that has a lot to do with the SEM filter too. They're both priced very similar, but they just sound so much different. Personally I don't think you need so many voices when the issue is weak oscillators to begin with.
@@dankeplace Bingo. Pull apart any synth a Behringer clone is based on and compare it to the Behringer clone. Sure some sound close, but some are far apart from the original. When you buy a UB-Xa you’re getting a very nice 16 voice polysynth at a great price that you can undoubtedly make music on but you are not getting an Oberheim.
@@ktreier the keybed was one of the biggest off putting features for me, it has almost zero wight to it. The Teo 5 has a reputable FATAR keybed, same as my Pro 3 and Take 5. Artuia have so so keybeds too, even their flagship PB12 has issue, uneven keys. My Pro 2 isn't as nice as my Pro 3, but it is far better than any Behringer offering that's for sure. Quality, not quantity is the game here.
They're driving that classic clone lane. It's working. Not all of their stuff holds up next to the higher end brands, but the gear that does, is really really good and useful. My Odyssey is one of my favorite synths in my rig
VSC3 clone . I have about 12 Behringer synths and the Odyssey and 2600 are my faves and better than my original Arps. The VC340 is also used a lot in my studio which was a surprise. It fits in well with a lot of tracks
Before the chip shortage I had a long shopping list but since then I realized there's not much gear I actually need beyond what I've already got. A lot of products (not just from Behringer) fell off my wishlist. They took too long to release the UB-Xa - I gave up waiting and bought a used DX7 IID to fulfill my need for a master keyboard that makes sounds.

Behringer is really pissing me off! They're supposed to making synths more affordable... which they are.... individually. But when they make thousand dollar synths for only a couple hundred dollars, and then announce 10+ synths, im now back into the thousands!! 🤣
I had a Sequential Circuits Pro One when I was in my late teens… but I sold it when I was short of money. I wanted to see if I could get one for a decent price recently… but was shocked to see the cheapest available was around £1,400. So I gave up looking. Then a friend told me of the Behringer clone Pro One… and I picked a brand new one up for £262. Big difference.
People moan about the ethics of Behringer. If Behringer are able to clone classic and in demand synths and sell them for an accessible price (giving music is everyone and not just the elite), then I’m all for it. The ever increasing price of synths is making purchasing more difficult. I’ve owned a Behringer Mono/Poly for 4 years. For a £440 price tag, it punches as hard as a £1500 synth. This is not about the ethics of cloning other company’s synths and undercutting the competitor. This is about the ethics of opening up opportunities to the consumer. In short - It’s the economy, dummy!
I'm just here as a proud Moog One/Matriarch, Oberheim OB-6, Roland Montage/SP 404 MKII, Akai Force and Novation, etc owner... just to piss off the Temu-Behringer customers who try to act like they're proud of their purchases. And maybe they will be, for about 1-8 years only to find their crappy products give out and wont be offered any servicable options.... And then one idio will reply that they can fix their own synths, like that is a common thing for the general public. If youre buying Behringer products, you just may still live with your parents, or may be on your 2nd marriage with 4 kids, hence the reason why you're broke. Buying from a company that is basically the Temu of musical electronics is not anything to be proud of. And I will never buy anything from Behringer again after I found out they have no innovation, steal from other innovators and use Chinese sweat shops and child labor to make their products.
@@nickh13263 utter bs, any one can obtain these types of synths, it's a matter of how you buy your gear and how you budget for gear. No one knows how long it took him to acquire all this, and he isn't the 1st person to do so.

@@ThePlughugger It's a very deep machine with an incredible sound. I must still work on it to master all its possibilities. If you like the PPG but with a modern twist, it is a wonderful machine. Wow, for me, it would have to be the VS-80 (Behringers Yamaha CS-80 clone) and the RX-78 Drum machine. I may also grab the mini 3 note polyphony CS-80 (sorry forgot the model number 20 synths later. The Linn drumm machine attempt is also exciting in theory and the VS3, I've always wanted to try that joystick and pin setup. I shouldn't be surprised and yet I am. It's astonishing how Behringer are able to do this. As always, where a synth no longer exists or only exists as a VST or digital recreation then I'm all for it. However, I'll never back recreating a Prophet 5/10 that is still in production. Sorry, that's just me. Another thing, I hope Behringer continue to supply their back catalogue and not just discontinue as they go.
I'm a Nord & Moog guy, and I'm not afraid to spend money...however, Behringer nailed the EDGE (DFAM CLONE). I prefer everything about the Behringer Edge over the DFAM that I actually sold my DFAM and used the money to purchase a whole Behringer Modular setup. No regrets.
Thanks for the post. Sounds good! Behringer has put out a bunch of old stuff that sounds decently good and made it accessible to the public, which is even better! But there is a problem. This type of matter tends to be heavy, it takes up space and space is expensive. It consumes a lot of useful space, you also have to buy mixer cables or something that serves as a mixer. Anyway you will need to use computers to create music, at least in my case! For example, I decided to sell absolutely all the hardware I had collected for decades. I made very good money doing it! I bought them all in VSTis format, with the same money I earned from sales. The monthly rental payment for air-conditioned and humidity-controlled space, which I had to pay for years, was eliminated! I still have absolutely all the sound textures I used to have available with my old rig, + hectic memory! You know people don't really know or care if I'm using a mini moog or not. People nowadays don't even care if what they hear is real music or not! LMAO! I still have some of the soap saved in my bank account, which I made from selling my equipment. I am happy. I honestly don't know how Behringer could compete with plugins. You just need a really good 88-key MIDI controller, with extremely good weight action, to cut your pianos. I mean if you know something about music and if you play some piano only! If you don't know anything then buy something cheap one of those that look like toddlers' toys and it will be just as useful for you. An additional pair of MIDI controllers with full-size keys and light action to emulate the action of hardware synthesizers. Perhaps two. A good custom-built PC with tons of RAM at good speed and 50 to 100 TB digital storage media to store your work, maybe even much less than that. A good corner in your house to put everything in and make it look pretty. And start making money making shit for idiots who know nothing about good musical taste! People don't really care if you're using an OBXa, Synthclavier or PPG! Actually what 99% of people hear is the singer and the beat, very few can hear the wall of noise behind that and none can hear the depth! So save space, make music and most importantly, EARN MONEY, A LOT! If you're not going to make money with the things you have, forget about buying more shit! The music nowadays is not that good anyway. So you will earn easy money if you try it. Just think of this. Regards and good luck to all, including Behringer.

Still...the haters have to winge because they have already spent thousands on " the real thing".
The haters need to " get real" to whats happening now and just how many alternatives Behringer have to offer.
We are in a society now that concludes the majority do not have the means to assemble " The real thing".
Uli Behringer gives us the " Real thing".

Waiting oh so eagerly for the VS-80, the Neptune-80 and ofc the JT-16 - mostly the VS-80 though - such a wonderful sounding synthesizer i never thought id even have a chance of owning
@DorisDay-lw4xs hence why I wrote the replica name and not the original name duuuuhhh
I want all of them 😍
Idea for a follow-up: all synths released by B. the past 5 years or so. Including how many months it took between *actual* shipping of units.
Yeah this is all really exciting but i fear 90% is vaporware.

Sooo... :]
How is it?
How on earth did you get the MS5 this early???
Sweetwater still waiting on them here in the States. Happy for you though buddy
Nice update!. I´m waiting for Proton and Enigma. Recently on June 2th Behringer post: "Proton is now fully approved and ready for production".

Well done, my friend!!
What a great point of reference!
Thank you.

Beringer is secretly going to be cloning Uli
In the leaks I saw, Behringer are referring to the clone as a "homage", and he will be 3/4 size of the original Uli.

@@heymynameisharry Haha... :)
fantastic roundup video
The only thing that really bugs me about these clones is the omission of simple features that would greatly enhance the sound, eg: On their P5 clone if they implemented on / off / *inverted* switches for each of the waveforms, similar to the T-mixer or Pearlman oscillator, instead of just on / off switches, it would effectively allow the oscillators to produce 19 more waveforms than the original. The lack of optional multitimbrality with separate outs on their polyphonic clones is also a major oversight.
Those are actually really good ideas.
Got hyped on the cs-80. Still no news
very excited for the minis. fingers crossed their parameters can be controlled by midi cc.
Man, can't wait for the JT 16. Mint!
I'm waiting for the Proton (by the way a more recent photo with Uli and two factory workers + several pre production Protons was shown by Behringer just a week ago), and the PRO 16. Btw the Proton is not meant as a follow up, but as a companion, a bit like the edge and crave etc.. it is said to be quite a different synth than the Neutron.
atleast proton is orignal or wait is it is it a clone of neutron :D
@@frallorfrallor3410 It is an original for sure :-) but even if it was a clone of a classic, I'd still like it, as the original classics are very hard to get at ridiculous prices, Behringer is bringing this into range of many more people. The Neutron is awesome. Looking forward to completing the nucleus in the near future. Perhaps there will be an Electron as well?

@@SpeccyMan Yeah, if ever!
Polyeight, Wave, JT-16, Syncussion and the Twovoice seems for me the most interesting Bangs!
No two "originals" will be exactly alike!
They're driving that classic clone lane. It's working. Not all of their stuff holds up next to the higher end brands, but the gear that does, is really really good and useful. My Odyssey is one of my favorite synths in my rig
Are there any updates on the CS-80 clone?

VSC3 clone . I have about 12 Behringer synths and the Odyssey and 2600 are my faves and better than my original Arps. The VC340 is also used a lot in my studio which was a surprise. It fits in well with a lot of tracks
Before the chip shortage I had a long shopping list but since then I realized there's not much gear I actually need beyond what I've already got. A lot of products (not just from Behringer) fell off my wishlist. They took too long to release the UB-Xa - I gave up waiting and bought a used DX7 IID to fulfill my need for a master keyboard that makes sounds.
Sometimes these huge times between the reveal and when you actually can buy it is good. It gives you time to think and see what you really need.

How would you describe the difference?
People moan about the ethics of Behringer. If Behringer are able to clone classic and in demand synths and sell them for an accessible price (giving music is everyone and not just the elite), then I’m all for it. The ever increasing price of synths is making purchasing more difficult. I’ve owned a Behringer Mono/Poly for 4 years. For a £440 price tag, it punches as hard as a £1500 synth. This is not about the ethics of cloning other company’s synths and undercutting the competitor. This is about the ethics of opening up opportunities to the consumer. In short - It’s the economy, dummy!
And I wish Behringer would do factory circuit bending on a lot/all of these like the did on the TB 3. I will happily pay more for that.
Don’t forget Behringer is the only audio company that bullies its critics and actively tries to destroy their careers

No regrets.
This is extremely interesting. Why do you prefer Edge over the DFAM?
