Back in 1989, as far as I recall... Goth was not a term used for what I remembered referring to as: Underground-Alternative and Doom and Gloom. I met an elder of mine whom lived in the same town, during the same years as I, whom remembered it as Death Rockers. ::gobsmacked:: I became acquainted with the term Goth, in the mid-late '90s, especially when Hot Topics was full on about the subculture. Even "Shock Rock" Marilyn Manson was considered to be "Goth" at the time. These days, the subculture has so many umbrella terms that it's lliterally difficult to keep up with. I mean, like 3 weeks ago, I discovered that another term for Dieselpunk is Atompunk! And that my most favourite fashion decade (1920s) is termed as Decopunk! GTFOH!!!!! Hahhahhahaha!!!
If you would walk around with those clothes now very few people would really bat an eye... but if you wear the suit that the interviewer wears in the first shot people's heads would swivel off and you would be the talk of the town. XD How times have changed.
Well the styles have been around since before this so hordes of people have seen the styles for Decades and it is not edgy anymore. It was already not new in the late 80s.
