I highly recommend Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia. It has full voice acting, and the gameplay and graphics are great. Also thank you for the video, I enjoyed it!
I would recommend awakening more so than echoes or any of the other fire emblems on the ds . Wish they would revamp original fire emblem from the game boy advance I loved that game as a kid so much . That and ff tactics on gba they were so good I put more hours on those two games and mega man battle network along with pokemon than any other game ever .ds does have ffta2 which is really really really good as well .

My favorite is MONSTER HUNTER STORIES. If you liked pokemon you"'ll LOVE this game !!! It's also good for people who wanted to like the Monster Hunter franchise but didn't have the patience for the looooong hunting battles.
Thanks for showing the 3DS some love. I know it's on the way out, but I'm brand new to it due to the immense library of games I can catch up on now, so I really appreciate these kinds of videos!
Even if it’s on it’s way out. It’s still worth it. Specially if you love jrpgs. It’s hard to beat. And you also get the whole DS library as a bonus. Which have even more jrpgs 😊
If anyone likes to play games like Persona 4 or 5, but wants a portable experience, i recommend Devil Survivor: Overclocked, and Devil Survivor 2: Record Breaker. Both games are re-releases from their original DS versions, but come with full voice acting, tons of extra story/extra boss content, and harder difficulty settings. I've never been much for Pokemon games (heresy, i know), but i'm a huge fan of Shin Megami Tensei series (Nocturne is my all time favorite) and the Persona series. That said, Devil Survivor 1&2 on 3DS are SO much more than "mature versions of Pokemon Sun and Moon." Neither were released in 2017/2018, but just like Shin Megami Tensei 4 and Shin Megami Tensei: Apocalypse (also for 3DS), they have challenging combat and interesting character designs. Any of those titles are worth the time of one who's into J-RPGS, or who enjoys the challenge of Fire Emblem titles. Devil Survivor 1&2 on 3DS aren't as graphically impressive as newer pokemon games, but they make up for that with strategic gameplay and likable characters.
Banzai Croc ppl that own a switch and wanna test out a smt game before 5 hits the switch. Should go with either. Both are great games. And a good place to start. I did myself and have never looked back.
Great video! It's good to see alot of these games getting a spotlight when they need one. As a classic FE fan, i was super happy you included Echoes; It went so unheard of in the community for no reason (Though one thing i may agree on with the negatives is that the cantorspamming is broken and really should've been fixed). I like how you talk about all the cool mechanics that it brought back and expanded upon which alot of people missed, unfortunate considering the dungeon system and the more in-depth world building were two of my favourite things about the game. As for Mario Sports Superstars, i'm actually glad you reminded me about that game. When it was first announced i was pretty hype for it - i'm not a fan of sports games but something about the gameplay of the Mario sports games just grabs me in. I'll probably be going to check it out now that i remembered it exists. Both USUM and Ever Oasis i didn't really care about that much; USUM just seemed like a direct clone of SM and EO looked kinda bland and the art style wasn't really for me. But now that i've seen a bit more about them, I think i'll have to check them out some time! I'm liking how they added more mechanics to USUM since SM's mechanics and features weren't all that expansive. The online was kinda rubbish but looking at all those cool new features (that surfing one especially hello) i'm alot more interested now. EO also looks alot more expanded than what i saw in the original direct trailer for it so i might have to look more into it now. Only game i'm not super interested in on the list was DQ, but that's really only because i've never actually picked up a DQ game in my life. I've been meaning to at some point though and eventually i might get to this game. Awesome video dude, we need more people like you giving underrated games a chance to shine. I love Fire Emblem: Shadows of Valentia and Ever Oasis. I definitely feel that the latter hasn't received enough love. I'll probably skip Mario Sports, but I've never played a Pokémon game in my life-from an unbiased pov, is it worth giving it a go? Also, I'm not sure what the excitement is surrounding the Dragon Quest game. I played it for about two hours and just didn't get into it. Is it one of those games that you just have to keep playing until it clicks?
Honestly, DQ8 is the only part of Dragon Quest that I played and didn't like. It's probably because of the 3D view although it didn't bother me that much in Dragon Quest Monsters somehow.
I appreciate you still giving the 3ds some love, BeatEmUps. 1. I played the demo for Ever Oasis. The game looks good and I enjoyed GREZZO's work with the 3ds Zelda remakes, but I don't think I'll be playing this one. It looks like a lot if time that I'd rather put into Switch games. 2. This is one of the only times when someone told me to sub to a channel I actually have. After watching about 20 of your videos over the past three months, you've earned it. I enjoy your content.
Wow that’s a lot of energy in one video, lol. Played DQ back on PS2 but never finished. Picked it up for the 3DS during summer and finally finished it. Great game indeed.
you uploaded just in the right time!! just finished studying for finals and its 4 am here and tired af thus watching this really boost me up! thank you!!
hi beatemups! i have just started watching your channel this week and i think you have made it to my top 3 youtubers ! :D i have been binge watching your videos but now i have gotten to the point where i am watching your videos that i have already watched! so i think that you are an amazing youtuber mate! (i wasn't making fun of Australians by the way because it is something we say in England too)
I got Ever Oasis as soon as it came out and ended up having some mixed feelings about it. The gameplay looked like it got old after a few hours, but I couldn't stop myself from playing it either and the ending of the story was satisfying but not exceptional. But the randomized dungeons you have to frequently gamble on in the post-game finally killed it for me. They didn't stay fun for very long. All that being said, if Grezzo makes a sequel (or Switch version) that fixes a few hangups, I would not rule out returning to my Oasis.
There's two games that I played early in the 3DS's life cycle that I don't see many people talk about: Rhythm Thief and Code of Princess. Rhythm Thief is, as the name may suggest, a rhythm game with a story attached to it. The story itself kind of reminds me of the Professor Layton games in terms of tone, and the music is so good. And Code of Princess, while including some fanservice, is a pretty fun hack and slash sidescroller. It's not that long of a game, but I had fun with it nonetheless.
The MeltingSnowGolem you're missing out if you haven't played Ever Oasis, Metroid or Fire Emblem. Admittedly they might not be for everyone but each is a outstanding game in their own right.
I just started playing Kirby Triple Deluxe and its been alot of fun. The 3ds library is amazing. I hope nintendo keeps supporting it until the end of time
4:56 - 4:58 Was that... a reference to the opening of Ciara's "1,2 Step" where the guy goes "Ladies and gentlemen" and then he introduces Missy Elliott and Ciara? Like surely you're not referencing that. But if you are, oh man, I love it!
Monster Hunter Stories is missing from this list, I bought it on the same day that I got Pokemon Ultra Moon and I must say it's a much better time than the latter.
Tbh, I can't see how anyone could miss ultra sun and moon considering pokemon is one of the console's main attraction. Literally everyone who owns a 3ds that I know only bought a 3ds for pokemon.
I've always found Professor Layton to be a series on the 3DS that nobody had a single bit of knowledge of which makes me kind of makes me sad because those were some of my favorite 3DS Games.
Hey Wood thanks to your review I went to EB and bought Ever Oasis. Your review sold it to me I’m so excited to play it. Also it was on sale cause of Boxing Day sales. I’m super happy, cheers mate 👍🏼
Played ultra sun and fire emblem echoes which I consider the best fire emblem game storyline I have played yet. I still love awakening because of my Lucina but the Cave exploration and village building with being able to control 2 armies instead of 1 made it much more enjoyable
The 3DS game I have "missed" was Fantasy Life. A whole year after its release I saw it in a game store for 3 Dollars. New! I've never seen that before so I expected it to be hella bad (Especially because games around here cost you a fortune no matter how old they are). But it's only 3 Dollars, so why the heck not? AND it was summer I had plenty of time. I bought it, went home, and fell in love after about 30 minutes or something.
Thank you so much for all the amazing content you put out I am new here so have been going through all of your videos.. I wanted to ask where your jumper was from; the one that you wore in the video from 3 days ago, its really cool! Again love your videos man and how much you upload, puts a smile on my face whenever I get a notification. :)
Thank you for posting today, I really needed it. When I watch your videos it helps me get through the day, i don't have much positivity in my life and your videos really help me out. Please never give up doing what you're doing or have any doughts because you're helping people!!
Love the videos but I gotta say idk if it’s just me but I love that whole part of feeling like I’m ash waking up late and having to be at professor Oaks haha
I have both the original sun and moon and the ultra versions and I can honestly say it's a cash grab. I felt cheated on buying the game twice, sure there are differences, but not enough to justify to rehash it a year later. Maybe if I got the game for free my opinion would be different
jacob wells Same here! I absolutely fell in love with the game all the way up to Chapter 4. I didn't like what they did wth Chapters 5 & 6 though. I understand why they designed those chapters the way they did, but man did it feel like a chore completing them. If the game had not won me over all the way up to Chapter 4, I probably would not have finished the game. It was an awesome game nonetheless. : )
The original DS had a lot of cheap shovelware and was clunky, however the 3DS has been a surprisingly robust console. Especially the New 3DS with its clock speed boost and extra RAM. It's got decent hardware and the software has been overall higher quality than the original DS. Mix in the ridiculously simple softmod process and it becomes a very capable piece of hardware. I keep a R4i Gold 3DS Plus flashcart with a 32GB micro SD in the cart slot for original DS games. I can play backups of my 3DS games from the internal 128GB micro SD card via LumaDS custom firmware. DS and 3DS have a wealth of quality titles across several generations and genres. They have many full length RPGs and ports of N64, Wii, PS2, and other full console games. Not to mention all the first party Nintendo games are top notch. I never have to switch carts and only have to take out the microSD if I want to add games or software. Using a tool for creating custom virtual console games, I can also play just about any GBA game natively on the original DS hardware. The 3DS plays GBA beautifully, despite the lack of a GBA slot and the woeful lack of GBA virtual console games. Haven't found a game it struggles with yet. It even does Golden Sun and other games that emulators struggle with. Virtual console also plays a lot of SNES games well, but emulators like SNES9x for 3DS do a better job. With emulators I can also play GB, GBC, Genesis, and a lot of other older consoles pretty much perfectly. The 3DS can't really emulate 3D consoles, but it's a 2D gaming powerhouse with a nearly limitless library of games.
I had Moon, and bought Ultra Moon, there really is enough difference between the 2 to have both... You could even buy the other version to catch the version exclusives... There's also more pokemon from other generations that you can catch in the new games... Ever Oasis is a game I did not know about, and am seriosuly going to go buy, that looks awesome! :D
You're not the only one, I've been struggling to force myself to beat it since it came out... The gameplay is a slog and the story is about as basic as it gets. Not sure what everyone sees in it.
@@Yarzu555 SOV problem isn't its gameplay. The basic gameplay is actually better than I'd say most of the series weapon triangle notwithstanding. The problem is actually the map design. To which I say, well yeah,it IS a Gaiden remake afterall if an extremely well done one. Also, story?Fates legitimately has the most garbage writing of any JRPG I have ever played.(Mostly conquest and revelation if only because of how little substance birthright had)Awakening meanwhile has serious pacing issues,a villain with seemingly no actual motivation to resurrect his dark god and generally sweeps established lore under the rug because the writers couldn't be bothered to do the research. Meanwhile, despite being basic on a surface level SOVs story is fairly subversive, has fairly good worldbuilding and manages to take a story that just kind of existed and successfully connect it to both Archanea and Jugdral which makes the world feel more connected and real. Also, bonus points for giving Grima a pretty cool origin story.
3ds still has a better original library than any nintendo console since gamecube/wii. metroid returns, a link between worlds, ocarina, majora's, bravely default, super mario 3d land, new super mario bros 2, donkey kong country returns, luigi's mansion dark moon, dragon quest 7 and 8, fire emblem, and so many more. my switch collecting dust for a long time, especially with the nintendo game drought of 2020.
I fully enjoyed Ultra Sun. It was a vast improvement over the initial game and had more initial Pokemon (including Larvitar!) Hearing you talk about these games with such enthusiasm made the viewing experience amazing. I am not intent upon trying Dragon Quest VIII (at least when I finish Radiant History Perfect Chronology at any rate)

I adored the demo of Ever Oasis. It's definitely something I'd play down the line
When I first got my switch, it was about 80% docked, 20% portable. Now it's more like 10% docked, 90% portable. I love that damn thing. And my 3ds.
S OOSH SAME SOMEONE UNDERSTANDS
The only game I played on this list is Pokémon Ultra Moon. I don't regret it.
The MeltingSnowGolem you're missing out if you haven't played Ever Oasis, Metroid or Fire Emblem. Admittedly they might not be for everyone but each is a outstanding game in their own right.
+Taylor Chance well, one thing I know I'm missing out is money.
The MeltingSnowGolem ain't that the truth, I still haven't picked up Ultra Sun or Moon yet
I haven't played Sun or Moon yet, but I want to. They look sweet! :)
+Alisha play ultra sun/moon instead
You should make a video on why Nintendo should make another four swords game for the switch
I'm obsessed with the game but can you blame me?
I just started playing Kirby Triple Deluxe and its been alot of fun. The 3ds library is amazing. I hope nintendo keeps supporting it until the end of time
4:56 - 4:58
Was that... a reference to the opening of Ciara's "1,2 Step" where the guy goes "Ladies and gentlemen" and then he introduces Missy Elliott and Ciara? Like surely you're not referencing that.
But if you are, oh man, I love it!
He surely did. Nice catch.
Monster Hunter Stories is missing from this list, I bought it on the same day that I got Pokemon Ultra Moon and I must say it's a much better time than the latter.
you have so many videos posted and I just found this channel recently and im happy there is soi much to watch
Man, I can't believe I missed that Fire Emblem game! I so gotta pick that up! Thanks for the reminder on that xD btw love the vid!
Tbh, I can't see how anyone could miss ultra sun and moon considering pokemon is one of the console's main attraction. Literally everyone who owns a 3ds that I know only bought a 3ds for pokemon.
2023 E-Shop closure is bringing back lots of old recommendation videos and I love it!
So glad you talked about echoes!!! It's such a good fire emblem game. Also, the switch fire emblem game (warriors) is already out :p
archeyangel1 I think he means the mainline fire emblem game we are supposed to get
I've always found Professor Layton to be a series on the 3DS that nobody had a single bit of knowledge of which makes me kind of makes me sad because those were some of my favorite 3DS Games.
When he said “settlement that needs your help” my fallout 4 ptsd came back
If you played sun and moon do NOT buy ultra sun and moon it's just the same for the whole game pretty much
Macman17 1 yeah. The only difference is minor detail changes and a different legendary climax.
The thing is tho, Ultra Sun and Moon have _major_ improvements and new Pokémon.
Etikas Laptop never cared much for Fire Emblem gameplay (i like Advance Wars alot more idk why) but the story keeps me hooked.
M2796 1 I bought it anyways and it was still a good game
Etikas Laptop Genealogy of the Holy War says hi
I know it's old but Stella glow is a great game on 3ds. Could you do a 3ds hidden gems video? Or have you done one already? I'm new to this channel.
Yes it s so awesome I still play it
Hey Wood thanks to your review I went to EB and bought Ever Oasis. Your review sold it to me I’m so excited to play it. Also it was on sale cause of Boxing Day sales. I’m super happy, cheers mate 👍🏼
Hey my first car was a 2000 Celica.
Really glad i found your channel as I love Nintendo and love your enthusiasm for Nintendo. Happy to be a fairly new subscriber!
You forgot the BEST one Fantasy Life
I already have a 3DS, recently got a Switch (many thanks to your reviews), now I'm considering Dragon Quest 8 and I SUBSCRIBED! BESTIES!
1:06 A settlement....that needs MY help? (Fallout 4 flashbacks)
Im actually getting FE echoes for Christmas along with an Celica amiibo. I already have an alm amiibo, sad that I don’t have a newer 3ds though
TheRealCrazyOne I’m pretty sure there’s something you can get that let’s older 3ds systems use amiibos
i don't feel like that gadjet is worth iy
I finished Echoes Main game yesterday, it was an amazing game! Now on to Act 6 (the uber classes need to shine XD)
I love videos like these. You make them so fun.
Omg. I had a the same red 96 Celica also. I used to love to drive during the day with the lights flipped up because I thought it was badass lol
Young Wood looks like Ben Bruce from Asking Alexandria lol
Happy New Year, fellow gamer. I'm always down for more 3DS. My favorite console ever
Does anyone else feel that Rune Factory 4 needs to be more recognized? No? Just me ? :(
Merry Christmas woody xxx
Played ultra sun and fire emblem echoes which I consider the best fire emblem game storyline I have played yet. I still love awakening because of my Lucina but the Cave exploration and village building with being able to control 2 armies instead of 1 made it much more enjoyable
Oh I didn't miss any, complete collection I have.
I just stumbled on your video and just watched 20 of them xD LOVE your videos and energy!!!! I might try out Ever Oasis!
"3DS Games That YOU Might Have MISSED!" proceeds to talk abut games that nintendo makes hard to miss...
Subbed, Your channel is quality content!
“A settlement that needs your help”
Oh No. Preston Garvey has come to the 3DS.
Dude your thumbnails are hilarious haha.
Love the videos but I gotta say idk if it’s just me but I love that whole part of feeling like I’m ash waking up late and having to be at professor Oaks haha
I love the Fire Emblem games! Can't wait for the new one, coming to the Switch!
I have both the original sun and moon and the ultra versions and I can honestly say it's a cash grab. I felt cheated on buying the game twice, sure there are differences, but not enough to justify to rehash it a year later. Maybe if I got the game for free my opinion would be different
Michael Costa So you're saying Crystal, Emerald and Platinum are cash grabs too right?
Hey new sub I love the format of the videos! And your so damn informative I'll be back every upload! Thanks for sharing your passion
i love my switch but the 3ds has been there for me through all the tough times and it will always hold a special place in my heart
such a great library! fineally picked up a 3ds last november
I'm happy I found your channel. Blessed
Hey wood have you played bravley default hands down my favorite ds games and one of my favorite games ever
jacob wells Same here! : )
I got that game, and it's on my to do list along with so many others. lol
You have done an excellent job that I actually went and bought a 3ds and bought several games ☺. Thank you buddy
Jeej, its not a "look at these presents" video. They're also fun but it was getting a bit too much.
Thanks for this vid, I really liked it.
Two years later but thanks, because of your vídeo I just purchased Ever Oasis and Dragón Quest VIII
You don't have to buy both you can just trade even like a year ago online was still pretty active .so I can only imagine how active it was back then
I love your reviews always funny and interesting.
I am a huge Fire Emblem fan but for some reason, i didn't really enjoy Echoes.
1:04 In this game you are a leader of a settlement that needs your help. Fallout 4 traumas
RIP Etrian Odyssey V
One of my favorite games this year and I have never heard other people talk about it.
