This recipe is similar to the German pancake (or Dutch oven baby) that I make, but I pour it all into a pre-warmed casserole dish with melted butter in there and serve it with maple syrup or powdered sugar and fruit. It also puffs up and curls on the edges 😊
I ordered a Yorkshire pudding at this very cool bar & grill in Calgary that came stuffed with roast beef inside. The YP was about twice the size of your popovers, so the chef had some more room to work. I never saw a seam where he cut it open, but I was close to three sheets to the wind at the time. It was a cool gimmick in any case and this recipe reminded me of it and now I’m inspired to try to recreate this Canadian delight at home. Thank you for the inspiration! Excellent video.
Regardless if I ever make these, you taught me something new..I have for years been seeing these odd pans when i shop thrift stores and had NO idea what they were for..now I know.
I made these in Home Ec 50ish years ago. Crave them ever since. Bake 'em, cool 'em and bag them. They are my snack whenever i need one. Every thing else i'd eat has sugar....at my age i have to work to keep my weight level. I double recipe and eat them all week. Mmm good.
I have made a couple of popover recipes with mixed results so I'm excited to try yours! My other recipes called for preheating the pan, which was a pain. Glad to see that part missing from your recipe. Love popovers and love the cinnamon sugar idea, too!

I've never had either popovers or Yorkshire pudding before, but have always wanted to try them! They sound so delicious! But, I've heard they are easy to mess up, so I've been intimidated to try to make them myself. Maybe someday!
450 preheat 6 eggs Beat to make light and frothy. Couple min on low mixer or by hand. Or can do all ingredients In blender at once. 2 cups whole milk Add 6 tablespoons melted butter. Do all while mixing 1 teaspoon salt. Sprinkle over. 2 cups all porpoise flour gradually. Pop over pan. Or muffin tin Brush w oil Bake over foil. 2/3 full. Can use ice cream scoop to fill. Place rack low so room to rise. 20m. Drop to 325 for 10 to 15 min.
This is so interesting. Right after baking, could I fill them w whipped cream or a seeet filling? Or are they totally meant to be plain? Either way I’m trying your recipe. Thank you.♥️☮️
I do have a question for you. My chocolate chip either go flat after cooling. I am making them for a party. Should I use some cornstarch to them. They are mainly going for the kids and some adults. I am looking for nice round and nice high cookies. Any suggestions I will help me Thank you so much.
I made Yorkshire pudding at Christmas and it literally exploded all over my oven 😢 my oven is still smoking from it when I use it, even though I cleaned it out 😕
I grew up eating Yorkshire puddings, always eaten with roast beef and gravy. I've never had an actual popover. I have serious egg envy!
A warm popover is a true serotonin moment! ❤ Thank you for sharing the technique.
I hope you love them! :)
I never saw the pans for sale. I use muffin tins and probably don't need them. They look fun,tho....

We love Dutch baby for breakfast! We use a blender & cook them in a cast iron skillet.

I loved when my mom made these when I was a kid! I need to borrow her pan and try to make these. 💜

Glad I could help! Next time you'll have to grab one and give it a shot. :)
@@SugarSpunRun My thoughts exactly! They are quite cheap because no one knows what they are! Thanks for your channel !

I always find popovers to be very interesting. They use no leavening agent except the power of steam. Thank you so much for the recipe!
Aren’t they cool!?
Excellent Sam be bless with your family
I use a measuring cup with a spout so I can just pour the batter into the pans!
Or a ladle 😊
Recommend pouring batter into a large pyrex measuring cup then pouring into popover tin....time saver with less mess. Love your videos!
Great idea! :)
I like your videos! You are knowledgeable and professional, but common enough to show your mistakes, and not waste butter!😁
My mom's mom made them for me when I was going up ..there so delicious 😋

Love popovers, with of course plenty of butter.

Have you thought about adding Rasberry and cream cheese with it? Thank you for sharing the recipe/video.
That could certainly work! I like to eat them with a little cinnamon and sugar on top. :)
Love your videos

You could certainly fill these if you'd like. I like to add a little bit of cinnamon and sugar on top. I hope you love them! :)
Can you add different seasonings?

Thank you so much.
Since using muffin pan makes so many, can the recipe be halved
Well yeah. 3 eggs, 1cup milk, 3T butter, 1 cup flour, 1/2 t salt. You can even take the recipe all the way down to 1 egg, 1/3 c milk, etc.
What is really a popovers because I don't get it. Please tell me
Hi Sam how are you I’m Laura I’m going to make these❤
I'm doing well! Thanks for asking. I hope you love them! :)
Hi since you said it would make 12: so you need two pans can you half the recipe
Unless you have a 12 count popover tin. :) You can also use muffin tins in a pinch. :)
I made Yorkshire pudding at Christmas and it literally exploded all over my oven 😢 my oven is still smoking from it when I use it, even though I cleaned it out 😕
Oh my gosh! A lined pan underneath can be such a life saver.
Why not use a 4 cup pyrex measuring cup
You totally can! ☺️
I just got rid of the popover tin I had because I never made them. Now I keep seeing popover recipes! 🙄
Is that the way it always goes?! I guess you'll need a new one! ;)
in our bible KJV ; GOD said, “ I WILL POUR OUT MY SPIRIT ON ALL FLESH. “
