I used to go to the Jordan Marsh Store with my Mother in Boston, MA. We headed to the Jordan Marsh Diner in their store basement for a cup of tea and a big Jordan Marsh Blueberry muffin with butter! That was over 60 years ago. We loved them, and I remember them well! Glad the recipe is resurfacing. Thank you.

I used frozen ones because fresh ones can split when you’re mixing them and then the muffins will take on a blue tint. In fact I suggested frozen blueberries instead of fresh decades ago in a comment section like this.
I have tried many blueberry muffin recipes and this one is by far the best, it is flavorful and moist. YUM! I even bought the same liners, it looks so profesh. ❤

I was lucky enough to have a Jordan Marsh in Bedford NH close to where i grew up. They had a small cafe on the second gloor and served these. Unfortunately closed many years ago and ive had the recipe and been making them for years. They are the best!
I just made them....they are delicious. Next time I will add some Lemon rind because I love the Blueberry/Lemon flavor. I used reg. size paper cups & the recipie made 17 muffins.

Reminds me of when I worked at McDonald's and they were selling sugarless blueberry muffins so I made a batch without putting sugar in them and got scolded by the manager because the sugarless part was the premade dough and I was supposed to put a ton of sugar on them before baking, Nobody wants to eat sugarless muffins she said, So great
It's an interesting history behind muffins, as you mentioned in the description. Learning more about something can make it even more enjoyable. I hope there will be more additional explanations in the future. I also love muffins, especially those made with berries. It makes my mouth water just thinking about them.😄😄😄

This is a unique recipe and definitely a keeper. Looking forward to making it and your tutorial was excellent. I wish you could have held one in your hand just to gauge it’s size. I suspect they’re smallish , which is just how I prefer them.
I made mine higher in protein by subbing the milk for Greek yogurt..u can always add a dash of milk if you want to loosen the mixture and it works well😊
I found this recipe in a magazine (long before TH-cam and Google) and they turned out beautifully. The recipe didn’t say to smash some of them but I will try that when I bake a new batch. Big Blues!
My late mom and I used to get similar muffins from Whole Foods, and then they got another baker that was terrible, and we were SO disappointed! Thank you for sharing the recipe, I only wish mom was here, so I could make these for her!

The only change I have to this recipe is,I add lemon zest,1/2-3/4/ cup of sour cream! Blueberry muffins, are always a good choice for breakfast.
