  • Koko B Ware discusses the fight vs Paul Roma in WWF & Steve Keirn sucker punching him in Memphis. Stream New Shoot Interviews 📺 TitleMatchNetwo...
    WWE Hall of Famer Koko B Ware talks about being confronted by Steve Keirn of the Fabulous Ones. It all took place in the showers at a show in Memphis.
    Koko says Keirn blindsided him while his hands were up and not expecting to fight. Ware says before this issue, he and Steve Keirn would travel the roads and were good friends.
    The second fight takes place in WWF where Koko and Paul Roma were both employed by the World Wrestling Federation.
    According to Koko, Roma called him "Buckwheat" in the locker room and Ware asked him about it. He says Paul doubled down on this insult leading to Koko throwing a few punches. The heat was squashed pretty soon after this and neither man seems to harbor any ill will.

      The tag team that Koko was in PYT? Definitely ripped off some aspects of the Fabs. However, isn't taking aspects of other wrestlers' part of wrestling? SK readily admits he hit Koko because of the rip off, and that he sucker punched him. I dunno, I can see Steve wanting to protect his gimmick, but hearing it today 'shaking hands, coming out to music' is hard to relate to. I mean if Steve had this issue with PYT, surely he'd have a bigger issue with The Fantastics.

    • @superbexcellence
      @superbexcellence 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +10

      Agreed but, Koko only mentions here the Stagger Lee gimmick as a singles. Doesn’t sound anything like the Fabs. And you would think Keirn would be happy that the territory was building a team that could be great heel adversaries. They could book them all over the territory switch titles and make good money. Something is missing from the story

    1) The Steve Keirn thing is accurate up to Koko getting sucker punched. Then Koko is just talking. Taking the gimmick of someone else in a territory was a big thing back in the day and even if the office told you to do it, there could be consequences. Koko was facing a sort of old-school wrestlers court that night. I think even Keirn thinks now he went too far in what he did.
    2) The Roma story isn't quite what happened. Someone told Koko that Roma had called him Buckwheat behind his back. It may have happened or it might have been a rib. Nobody knows. Koko came up to a seated roma and hit him lightly three times in the head trying to get a fight started. Roma wouldn't do it. After the third punch, Roma grabbed on to Koko and they hugged it out until other guys seperated them. It wasn't a fight. Roma refused to fight because he thought he would be fired for it. In Roma's version of the story, he adds more stuff beyond that which isn't true to make him seem tough.

    Koko said Paul called him buckwheat. Which is an insult. He confronted him like a man and asked him why did he called him that. The man (Paul) didn't deny it. He confirmed that he said it. AND he states the reason is because Paul was disgruntled with the front office, and took it out on Koko.
    You got people on here saying: "Well if Paul said it"; "How do we know he said it". We know because KoKo confronted him and he admitted it. Unless you think KoKo is a "liar", Paul said it and that's what sparked the fight.
