Former WWF/WCW star Paul Roma about joining World Championship Wrestling and becoming the newest member of the Four Horsemen.
Ric Flair made the grand introduction that we all remember so well. It's the night where Flair welcomed former WWF star Paul Roma into the illustrious Four Horsemen group.
The reaction to Roma joining the faction was mixed at best considering fans were expecting someone who fit the WCW/NWA mold, not a wrestler from up north in the World Wrestling Federation.
Roma tagged with Arn Anderson and Ric Flair several times before being recast with "Pretty Wonderful" with Paul Orndorff.
On the WWE Four Horsemen DVD, Ric Flair stated that Paul Roma should never have been in the group, which Roma responds to here.

Never drew a dime. Flair is one of the greats. Roma is a legend in his own mind.

Paul was best with a ring general like Orndorff and Hercules. A nice complimentary piece in a tag team.
Roma and Orndorff worked well together. He was best as a tag team guy.
That's why it was clever to put him with a ring general and tag team specialist like Arn, but it clearly didn't click between them, might have worked better as heels.
Hercules or orndorff Ring generals? Not so much

It was really Roma botching that match with Alex Wright. He got blackballed from working in the US after that. If he had played the game he probably could have made really good money when WCW Nitro started getting hot in 96 onwards.

Well, at least Roma was a better fit for the Horsemen than Pillman, Sid or Mongo. The latter two were better suited to be bodyguards for them. Luger was okay but could've also worked as a bodyguard or an associate of theirs.
Mongo was a great Horsemen in the sense that he had money, fame, NFL notoriety, was a party animal and was a great team player. Even Flair said that "if there was ever a true Horsemen it's Mongo", it's just a shame he couldn't wrestle for s***. 😂😂😂
@@jonathanturbide2232 The Mongo that we got was better off as a bodyguard or at least an asdociate of theirs while a perfectly good Dean Malenko was there the entire time. Flair's words can't be taken seriously. He tends to flip flop. A lot of those guys partied like a Horseman. He put over David Arquette because he bought drinks for everyone with the money that he was paid by WCW. We know how much Ric loves his "likka."
It wouldn't surprise me if he (verbally) put Arquette over as world champion giving the exact same reason. Also, Jeff Jarrett shouldn't have been associated with the Horsemen at all.
