I own a Lada 21074 now 😂 It's a hell to own it. It breaks down often but I can fix it literally in the open field. Before the war with russia i used to buy parts from any local shop as cheap as junk but now spare parts' prices went sky-high
Начало видео, смотрю на копейку, радуюсь, что очень качественно её сделали. И тут чувак начинает говорить на англицком, (О_О) удивился очень, аж перепроверил название ролика. Круто, рад, что советская классика понравилась американцу! :)
I am also a late joiner of your awesome TH-cam Channel so it was awesome to see the story of your killer Lada. Now go out and buy that Lada Wagon,we are patiently waiting.
We were definitely brought up in the best era! Able to appreciate classic cars and to see the pinnacle of the gasoline/petroleum engine. Watching your show is so interesting, I look forward to seeing your future projects.
My grandparents in Cyprus had a Fiat 124 Saloon (maybe year 1970-71) in white. Your Lada 2101 is the license built 124. Regard less - the 124/2101 is fun car to drive
There was a 2102 on Facebook marketplace in Maryland, I think. Very early car, still has a floor mounted accelerator pedal and a buch of other early car attributes. Looks to be in good shape and reasonably priced. I would get it myself but already have one in my garage.
Cool Vid. Our family car of choice was Ladas Estates. We had 3 over the years Red and Blue ones had the round headlights and then we moved to Beige one with square headlights. Ladas were a joke in the UK back then, but are cool now.
I don't remember the first video of yours I found, but you are by far one of my absolute favorite people to follow on here. Your eclectic taste in cars and love of low hooked me! I love how you and your dad both work on the projects and it's awesome to see your friends across the world when you visit them. That Lada is awesome! I love the detail of having the Cyrillic on the housing for the air ride controller! It's sad to see the shop from the last few years in pieces, but I'm excited for your new one!
Great story and a fantastic car. My first car I bought at the age of 15 was a Lada. But not as early as this. It was a 76. We drove it in a field for hours and hours but we couldn’t kill it😂
Nice place if you meant Buxton- I’m from Derbyshire we pronounce it a bit different. You should’ve tried the ice creams at Tagg lane dairy near Bakewell that would’ve been a nice cruise out and hit Monsal head.
The Lada was the reason i started to watch the channel, was some inspiration for mine and i still love it! Love the newer builds too though, keep it up! Thanks for reminding me to redo some stuff on mine with this Video though...:)
That is the Lada party trick: give it some juice and gasoline and they fire right up. Even in below zero conditions. Then there's the from early 00 and up 16 valve head from a Lada 110 which fits the earlier 1.5 litre Lada's engines. Slap a turbo on it, crank up the boost and You have a monster in Your hands. They hold boost very well and deliver good power. That is a very nice example and in the one and only "party's color" 😉
Cool car, Lada's were ubiquitous on UK roads in the 70/80s, although viewed as a bit of a joke by more affluent buyers, they were pretty tough workhorses and many who bought them either kept them for ever or traded up to newer models, Lada converts. Considering how many were around they are few and far between now, the very low perceived value meant many were crushed. The estate (station wagon) is particularly cool. There were a few eastern bloc cars available way back, Skoda, Lada, Moskvich (of which there was a really cool panel van, basically a wagon with steel where the side glass should be), and sure there were one or two more.
That was my favourite vlog of yours to date as it was filled with all of my dream cars. I will definitely be going back to watch episode 1 and I hope you find yourself a 2102 as that will be another amazing build, as you are a very talented man indeed. Thanks again for sharing, that was awesome
That pretty cool! I have never seen one of those before. Fyi if you have something else to kinda restore with chromed plastic, i have a friends in Michigan that rechromes thats stuff for a living
@JohnLudwick would be cool, a buddy of mine wants to bag his 2105. But most sets have sketchy control arms with shock brackets bolted trough the inner wheel well. Did you use Aerosport bags to retain the OEM shock style?
I HAVE A 2006 SCION XB AND I WANT OLD STEEL WHEELS WITH THE B RINGS AND OLD SCHOOL BABY MOONS AT 4 X100 BUT NO WHERE TO BE FOUND UNLESS I GET VW BUG WHEEELS BUT I THINK ONLY COME IN 6 INCH WIDE. IM ALSO WAITING ON YOUR NEW SHOP BUILD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They copy lots of products from the West. I think Lada is a copy of Italian Fiat..........but I am not sure. There were two Russian cars in Poland during my time......Wolga comes to mind.
the lada is impressive, thank you for sharing that story….
For those subscribers like me who joined with the rusty stuff, it’s a welcome recap, how about the Japanese limo next?
Agreed. Liked the channel after this build but also love Lada’s and saw that John did one. I appreciate the backstory
Thanks man! I actually did a recap video of the Century earlier this year!
I own a Lada 21074 now 😂
It's a hell to own it. It breaks down often but I can fix it literally in the open field.
Before the war with russia i used to buy parts from any local shop as cheap as junk but now spare parts' prices went sky-high
Such a cool little car! I thought it looked great on the stock wheels and then every time you changed them up it just looked better and better haha
Haha thanks man! Yea I think the vintage BBS were the peak for that car too

Your 2101 is the car that inspired me to get one! Have now sold my 21011 and 2103 but will have another soon.
Me too
We were definitely brought up in the best era! Able to appreciate classic cars and to see the pinnacle of the gasoline/petroleum engine. Watching your show is so interesting, I look forward to seeing your future projects.
Thank you!
Dat was a whole lotta Lada! Fun to see your Dada drive the Lada haha!
What a beautiful time capsule...wish i could find a Lada in good condition..thanks for sharing
A Lada wagon popped up on my Facebook feed today after watching your video on my work computer.
In Baltimore, of all the places 🤣
Also love watching & seeing the Unique Cars you build as well
Back in the late seventies i had the original Fiat 124 special, a fabulous car, you have taken me back and i still think it has style.
That is awesome! I really want the original Fiat too!
That’s true nostalgia!😂LADA!!what a story ! And you imported! That’s a lot!👏
Really interesting back story on the Lada, one of my favourite cars that you have modified.
Thanks Warren!
Honestly was one of my favorite builds that you’ve done. This is a great recap of the car. Can’t wait to see when the future brings in the new shop.
Love this !!!!! Glad you were looked after when you came across 🇬🇧🇬🇧
I remember when you got this car and had it in OC.
2102 estate would be sick!
Definitely on the list!
I would love to see a Wartburg 311 or an early 353 on your channel.
Sooo nice! I had a 2103 for a while. It also had to go for other projects. But i would still love to have a early 2103 or 2101.
My grandparents in Cyprus had a Fiat 124 Saloon (maybe year 1970-71) in white.
Your Lada 2101 is the license built 124.

2102 estate ❤❤❤❤❤ please do it so I can live vicariously through the videos
As a channel lifer, I am glad to learn this story! I remember when your first video dropped and was super excited!

Still one of my favourite series of events from a silly conversation to a days driving across the UK.
So cool. Those are some good memories.
A Niva would be awesome
Hugely underrated 4x4, legend is land rover based their dimensions on them
Awesome story!

Such a cool car but I do agree a 2102 estate would be even cooler!!
Definitely man!

Buxton and the surrounding areas are beautiful!

Ever since I lived in Iceland 40 some years ago, I've always wanted a Lada Niva Sport 4x4. Haven't got one yet.
worthersee was an amazing show. It's too bad it doesn't exist anymore.
wow..great car and story..i woulda never sold it..😃👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Dude what a beautiful little car. I had a 71 Toyota 2 door that I wish I had never sold. I'm currently looking to purchase a little car. Great video
you should do more of these type of videos

I would love to build another one with some power!
Dang man! You just keep making these bad azz slammers! So glad I subbed this channel.

Your first video bro is one of my favorite you tube videos of all time
Gave up looking for a Fiat 124 but watching this sparked my absolute need for one again
Great story John! Always love a good old square body sedan. Time to bag a Fiat 130 Sedan or Coupe.
That was my favourite vlog of yours to date as it was filled with all of my dream cars. I will definitely be going back to watch episode 1 and I hope you find yourself a 2102 as that will be another amazing build, as you are a very talented man indeed. Thanks again for sharing, that was awesome

Looks like a 2nd gen Valiant and a '70s Bimmer had a baby!
That pretty cool! I have never seen one of those before.
Fyi if you have something else to kinda restore with chromed plastic, i have a friends in Michigan that rechromes thats stuff for a living
An orange wagon would be 🔥🔥🔥
really beautiful!
Hi John, do you have any pictures of the front bag setup? As they are shock trough spring, Im wondering how you set this up!
I’m not sure if I do, unfortunately! I may have somewhere on an old hard drive haha
@JohnLudwick would be cool, a buddy of mine wants to bag his 2105. But most sets have sketchy control arms with shock brackets bolted trough the inner wheel well. Did you use Aerosport bags to retain the OEM shock style?
thats a dope ass lil car!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥💯
Making me want to buy it
the E76s are amazing wheels, but are absolutely perfect on that 2101. Where did the car go? stayed in the US? with the bbs wheels?

Lithuanian number plates should be rare in USA 😂
I still have the plates!
