I mean yh they had rlly good chemistry but they were toxic as hell, especially in the fourth season
I mean it felt like they were genuinely in love, I'll give you that, but they were sooooo toxic it was insane. Towards the end of S4 I was just hoping they'd break up because they both were so unhappy with each other.

@@abyssalbleu of course it's good to have complex, messy and even toxic portrayals of queer romance in media because those stories exist in reality, the fact that Naomi and Emily were that was not the problem. The problem was that the show portrayed their situation as "true love" and told young, queer viewers that if your partner cheats on you OUT OF SPITE and lies to you until you force them to tell the truth; it's okay and you should still be together as long as they "love" you. They romanticised an incredibly toxic relationship in a show aimed at impressionable teens and that's not okay.
I watched this show in high school and fell in love with the 2nd generation. You did such a good job at capturing the small details that added onto the bigger picture and the hidden messages of the show. As I watched this show in high school I guess I was only catching onto the obvious and more noticeable themes of the show and not looking at a more abstract view of how everyones relationship within the group influenced each others actions. Again, great review and content creation, I recommend you keep on making analytical videos !
i never knew it was created by teens and young adults! that makes so much sense. i was obsesed with this show when i was a teen.
As someone with asperger syndrome, JJ is perfect devision of what most of us are like and how life treats us. It is very tiring to never get listened to and never get the same chances other people do even if we try and want it, bc we are “bad” at social interactions. JJ deserved better and I think that’s exactly what it is. Autistic people deserve better

i’ve always loved generation 2 the most, it simply felt like every character had moments where i loved/hated them. because all of them had moments where their good/bad sides shined through.
as an autistic person who has tried all her life to break out of my box i’ve found myself relating a lot to both JJ and Cook. What people see me as vs what i want to be like (the confidence and spontaneous energy i mean).
As an autistic person I really loved JJ. Felt so real

I watched this season at 14 in 2010 when i was off sick from school and it truly altered my brain chemistry.
I was 15 and skipped school, but same lol.
that was a really good video! if you're looking for feedback, i would suggest maybe dialling back the music and turning up the voice over instead, as i sometimes found it tricky to catch every word you said, esp. towards the end of a sentence, but otherwise really well done!

(Disclaimer coming from an American fan so my teen experiences are likely different). Even though the show was a little over the top and over dramatized, it still felt so relatable even more so than Euphoria. It was such a fun show, but it wasn't afraid to get dark at times to really draw you into the show. Not sure if its a realistic depiction or not, but as a 33 year old American raver, I still want to experience a UK rave, especially because of Skins 😆
The theme song for Skins should've been "Teenagers scare the living shit out of me"!
I loved UK skins because unlike the US they weren’t all supermodels. They weren’t all 30 years old in reality. And they weren’t afraid to really delve deep and go there. Euphoria, while beautiful and filled with beautiful people and shots, is nothing like teen hood to me and feels very much about adults playing a sexy teen fantasy.

Yes, the show used children as actors, which included scenes featuring inappropriate sexualization and drug use.
I started to read the novel recently and I must say, the Effy in the book is kinda disappointing and behaves like a silly spoiled child, throwing public tantrums and being a b*tch for no good reason (cause usually she has a good reason when being one :)) ).
