One of my all time favorite quotes I read several years ago says "Your greatest contribution to the kingdom of God may not be something you do but someone you raise."
I love the first part of your video talking about how women multiply what they are given, gave me chills.

As a widow my life is COMPLETELY different. God has stripped all of my self-ascribed titles, including daughter. All of my friends are a distance away and cannot seem to find new friends now. So I’m allowing myself to float into God. Quick kicking up the dust and let it all settle into this apparently growing sense of self, authored by God and how He sees me. Not as I thought I had to be seen. The busyness has diminished greatly and I’m finding my God-given feminine energy. Thank you for helping me see that God is at work, vs. feelings of isolation.

Hey Linda, I'm so sorry you lost your husband. This must be so hard to go through. It's good you are leaning into God during this hard season. My son lost his wife at age 22. He felt lost for a while without her. He didn't know where he fit in. But eventually those feelings passed. I hope you see how valued you are whether single or married. Praying for you!

Very often I see two different kinds of staying busy and stressed:
    - corporation style: whenever we have less work, we have to think of new, additional projects, just to do ANYTHING and to show the world, the higher management, that we are super hard-working employees;
    - previous generation style: our grandparents, parents were really poor, almost nothing to eat or to wear, you just had to be hard-working to survive. Nowadays, we have a higher standard of life, we can work less than they but somehow I feel that we are still valued by how much we work and if we are not hard working, we have less value.

I sometimes, just for a minute, get scared when I am decluttering, simplifiling, letting go, saying no, that I will regret it one day. So that is when I put on one of your vlogs to keep me on track. And when the day is over I know it is right for me as I feel peaceful, calm and content in my feminine energy.

He is a nurse as well and he enjoys working over time. I have ason 22 years old and a dauter 15. When i was around 40 i had burn out. Doctors give antidepressants i stopef them 1 year aftet by my self . Now at 50 i reslise that no one will give you the time out you need, you have to take it on your own. I've been binge watching all of your videos for the last couple of weeks. Two weeks ago I took a week to deep clean and declutter our house and it felt amazing. I'm sort of a minimalist to begin with but still something I've been meaning to do for a while. Funnily enough, last week I accidentally filed a theft and loss claim on my phone instead of a broken screen claim. I've been locked out of my phone for over a week and do not miss it at all. I am truly so inspired by your work here and am so thankful for all you've shared! Can't wait to watch this latest video!

Oh my gosh, yes! So good!
    1. Somebody finally talking about the fear of success - I always said I felt this more than the fear of failure but haven’t come across anyone yet who has related haha. It was implicit for me growing up and still now, that no matter what, I would never be enough. So, I think my fear of success is really rooted in a fear that even if I worked like a dog to try to please certain people in my life, I would still never measure up. Currently learning how to value God’s opinion of me over other people.
    2. Slowing down has been so hard. I’ve noticed how often I make excuses to play with my kids because going their speed is like holding a mirror up to my soul…It’s been so uncomfortable to learn slow living but so much good is coming out of it.
Madi, I absolutely love watching your videos, they are so relatable for me and the storytelling is beautiful. Thank you for all of the encouragement (even though we’re strangers haha).

Thanks for all your videos Maddie! They make me feel so centred and it feels like my soul is coming home every time I watch one. I’ve struggled for a long time with what ‘rest’ means to me, and your description in this video of it being ‘not trying to move forward, just enjoying what you have now’ totally clicked for me. Thank you for this video Maddie, I really really needed to hear this ❤ I've been overwhelmed of a lot of things lately and felt into a rut of not getting really anything done. Except that is so not true, I do a lot but somehow feel like I'm doing nothing. That said, I do know what I truly want to do and I do know that if I start doing it, it will flow easy. It's just that we so easily get stuck on the struggle (or the idea of struggle) and forget to ask 'how can I let this be easy'. Not having thriving women around me makes it harder to remember how amazing we are and what a creative force there is inside us, thank you for reminding us all of that 😘🌸

Great job Maddy! I'll be sharing this for sure. I know exactly what you mean about fearing success. I just read about it in the 5AM Club book. I worked so hard to raise, feed nourishing foods to, and home school my 6 children and now that they're all grown and raising their own children I've been actually filling my time because I fear the vulnerability of empty time! So much to think on! May God bless you as you continue to encourage!

Again, perfect subject for this season I am in. My husband and I are in the process of taking over his parent's home so they can downsize. It's a former B&B turned long term rental 6,000 sq ft home on 5 acres. 2 are grounds with lawn and garden. I am trying to lean into my faith, to have a home again (one we both have always felt safe in, welcome, and where we actually fell in love at), a place for us and our girls to put roots in. Yet I am terrified. Of the size, the shear weight of the responsibility to maintain the house, the yard, the tenants (there are 3). All with 2 girls going back into the public school system (their deepest desire), 2 littles at home, and a number of ways I can be pulled to make my life as you said harder than it has to be. I have been praying God brings me peace, and there you were with a new video. Thanks Madisun. This will help me remember my priorities and that minimalism, essentialism, and slow living don't have size requirements.

It is pretty awesome how we can make more out of small things. It is bad when we decide to want to suffer, but at the same time, a lot of believers believe they have to suffer since Christ suffered, which isn't really completely wrong if you get into the depths of it (suffering for the sake of the gospel and such). . .but when we put ourselves through suffering, that is the problem. Staying stuck really is not fun. We need to see the greater picture at times and push through for results that are good. I enjoyed listening to your brainstorming and the fact that you are showing humility.
Negative self-talk is the worst at times. I love that you only do social media for 30 mins! Thank you for sharing this with us today.

It is oddly soooo helpful and meaningful to see snippets your kids/kids stuff that isn’t aesthetic and I’d love a video on this. (Like your daughter’s pink pajamas and son’s mismatched pajamas, or like a paw patrol backpack). Because I think so many of us have fallen into a trap of wanting every single item to “spark joy” or fit the aesthetic and it causes so much unnecessary stress.

Wow this hit home. I will chew on this for a bit and see how it lands.
About work, I am paid after how many procent of a 40 hour workweek I work. Right now I work 80procent but that means I will just get 80prpcent of the salary. And many are in awe that me and my partner could afford not to work full time but we have created a life where it is possible (built and living in a tiny house, dosent spend much money...). But would love to be able to work more naturally, some days I get s ton of things done at work but others I dont and then I still have to be at work for all the hours... it is a strange system. And I do love my job as a garderner but I get a bit jealous of you in beeing able to steer your days more as your energy and creativity comes and goes .

I find that it’s hard to find a balance between my masculine and feminine energy. I can be very attuned to both of them, but most of the time, it seems like they’re trying to see which one can be louder and therefore get my attention. I would love to feel more comfortable with both of them being at ease with each other.
I’ve also been finding it really relieving to more and more realize that I can channel this drive and masculine energy for the random things I’m actually interested in, rather than what capitalism says the energy should be used for. When you’re able to harness your energy for your actual self rather than what you’re supposed to do or want, then it doesn’t feel bad, it actually feels really empowering and exciting. (Somehow, then it feels like your hopes are actually satisfiable rather than the desire for always more and more)
By the way Madi, I just read this really good book, it is called Rest is Resistance by Tricia Hersey, I think you would like it :)
