- In this video, I upgrade from my old intake to my new Holley Hi-Ram Intake along with some other great parts from @HolleyPerformance ! It's a bittersweet moment upgrading because I've learned so much with my old setup. However, Holley's parts will take my ignition to the next level, and it comes with aggressive styling! If you want to make clearance. Steel Spacers are available to place above the k-Member. Drop spindles would be next.
It clears fine without having to lower the engine or anything .
@@LalaFox92 figured it would. But if you want to make more room: to re-clock the turbo housing or put an intercooler pipe directly to the TB above the radiator.

If you mount the throttlebody upside down, you can probably use the factory throttle cable if you make a bracket, we did it with a high ram on a Ls
I got a new throttle cable so no worries there lol
FINALLY SOMEONE HAS DONE WHAT I WANTED TO SEE. Ok High Ram vs the GT 40 deal.... I cannot wait to see what you think. I have a few nicer cars than my Fox but... we all want to know what the Hi Ram will actually do or change.

It’s a stock block 302 . Definitely upgrade your block if you want to push anything over 500hp+ safely on a 302

Question how do feel about the 1987 SVO 2.3 lima and the Lincoln Mark VII or VIII coupes and would buy one to Modify also a 1980 Thunderbird 5.0 and 3.8.
I think SVO and Mark 7 & 8s are cool! Would I personally own them? Prob not but I’ve seen some cool motor swaps with them and they’re definitely cool cars to have in your possession!
What heads are you running? I've heard some people have trouble and end up having to cut down the sides of the intake to get it to fit with the heads and others seem lucky and it works
They’re GT40 heads . I did have to shim the intake alittle bit to make it work
Nothing better than building your own car, and you can tell you know what you are doing. However, I think you would love an electric ratchet.

@@LalaFox92 I'm a mechanic by trade, and my wife is the store manager for Harbor Freight. They really have decent tools. You could buy a 3/8 Hercules with 2 batteries, and a charger for the price of one Milwaukee battery. I have been using mine for almost 2 years, without issue.

Stupid question…… can this intake be ran with factory wiring or do you have to switch to a Holley wiring harness?
Not a stupid question! I feel like you should be able to use the factory harness you may have to lengthen some things

@@LalaFox92 I was a racer & builder for 5.0s & strokers . My last build was a 460CI stroked to a 557CI . Unfortunately I got cancer and those days are over FOR NOW . If you ever go for a stroker in a 302 go for the 331 or 347. My personal choice is the 331 especially with a turbo or charger plus they last a longer than a 347

I don't think the stockblock on 302's can hold past 450 - I could be wrong. Sweet build :)!
It’s on E85 and I keep the boost low and it’s tuned conservatively. I don’t need an intercooler at this moment. When I do a motor swap in the future making more power I will definitely need one. My car made 460 on 7lbs of boost just fine, but I haven’t dyno’d my new setup.
There isn't a certain number there is alot of factors. Being on e85 or some other really good fuel helps them stay together. Also having a turbo setup you can usually get by with making a little more power on a stock motor because they are more efficient and don't take power to make power. A 450-500 rwhp blower setup might be seeing 550-600 hp worth of stress on the engine because it takes power to make power but a turbo setup at 450 rwhp will be seeing 450 rwhp worth of stress because they don't take power to make power, if that makes sense. Not all setups are created equal. A low boost turbo setup on good fuel is the best way to try and keep a stock motor alive imo.
