Your a rare gem of BW that have a enthusiasm behind building cars, reason why I subscribed, if you don't want to push the fox body is a smart Idea, is better you build the other car as your project so you will have a plan to what amount of power you trying to achieve, an is better you have a Transmission for that because a 1000hp plus car with a Dog box can be very aggressive. love from the Island

I agree. Keep it the way you have it. Make the green one the party car. But do a coyote build, they are sick and can handle a lot of boost. Coyotes are built for boost and you will hit your goal of 7s quickly.
I would make the new car the all out race car. The silver car is your baby and that is the way it should stay I do not like the stick idea with a turbo car but I understand that you love it. Once you start all out racing the car body goes thru many changes this is why I would go with the green one you said it the first time it is a roller.

Follow your instinct and keep your silver fox as planned. Build the Calypso as you have planned but pick a class you want to race and focus on that for your build, like coyote stock, or true street and dominate the class. Most classes will really force you to go way deeper than initially thought. Keep the silver car for the street and for fun, make the calypso coupe an all out clean race car that has no hidden issues. Great cause and channel, thanks for sharing!

Well Lala I must say that it sounds like a good type of problem to have LOL. If I remember how much you and your Dad went through to get your silver notch, I think the 351 in it would be a great way to increase the sentimental value and just go to the next level on the Calypso car and make it a manual with the prestige motor. I look forward to seeing the process! Good luck!

Please keep the silver fox body as is because you are going to have to redo the whole interior of the car and you said the rollers interior was ruff and believe me once the cage and all the fabrication on the inside of the car you are going to love it. You can always work on the outside of the silver fox body and fix the little imperfections. Sometimes a good wax, buff, and polish will make a big difference.

I would personally build the Calypso as more of a sleeper / auto cross since it’s so clean. If you are going full TT w a cage, your imperfect but amazing baby seems like a great candidate.

If the silver car has sentimental value you should probably make the calypso one the race car. When you backhalf one of the cars you are going to loose the rear frame rails making it harder to be a street car again. What fuel are you going to run for the race car? C16 E85 M1 or something else?
I still plan on making it a streetable racecar! So I can do drag drives and stuff like that. I’d like to keep in on e85 if I could
Throw the 351 in your silver coupe, keep it a stick. Ditch the turbo for a super charger or nitrous. Keep it pump gas you will love that stick shift street car. As for your race car twin turbo and a power glide will run 7s with enough boost in any engine configuration.
I’ve always been curious about nitrous but part of it scares me too lol thanks for watching!
Make the Silver coupe the Auto Racecar, with that 351w stroked to 393, TFS Highports and your turbo setup.
Put that 302 in calypso with T56, and a T-trim Vortech and intercooler do an old school build for the street.
Or put a Godzilla swap in Silver

Keep the silver care as the stick. The calypso car with twins. Coyote motor. It’s already a roller and it gives you chance to really do it right the first time. Even at the level of power you want, you will still be able to drive the calypso on the street.

Hear me out, make the calypso the race car, go 25.5 or possibly 25.3, run some merillat high adjustability torque boxes, then do a coyote!!! For the short block, factory coyote block sleeved and o-ringed with a factory boss crank, either boostline rods or maybe some callies ultra bullets, cp carillo pistons, and either have a set of heads ported or run a factory gen 2 port which would make some good power. Would need valves, springs, and possibly cams depending on how much you plan to make. For transmission, a turbo 400 to keep the load on that factory crankshaft somewhat reasonable (by having that extra gear means less pull down and drag on the motor on the shift). For power adder, a set of twins. 😎 All that controlled by a fueltech ft600
Forgot to mention bronze guides on the heads, the factory guides are no bueno.

how bout you put a stroker 331 or 347 on boost for the silver car. And put the full roll cage into the calypso with the 351

ah man this is a tough one...
the new car has a cage but if you go 25 cert itll have to be cut out while the other doesnt have a cage. do both cars share the same rear end or does that really matter? endgame is to go 7's, youre going to need 1200+hp to achieve this for sure its very possible just might hurt a little when you buy the parts to get there, haha.
which car would i choose, hmmm. to me, i would have the green car be the drag car and have the silver as the "cruiser". the silver car just needs a clutch (twin disc) while the other needs everything.
The calypso car will def be a ground up build. They both have 8.8s for the rear. The silver car would get a new motor , trans, twin disc , and door bars for my roll bar to make it legal for the track technically.

Hmm, if it were me I would just replace the clutch and then focus on the calypso car. Having two project cars just turns into a headache haha. I’m going through that right now!

I do believe that you DON'T have a dilemma. My thought behind that comment: Regarding the silver fox, "I don't want to push it that far!". Then don't take it that far. I would go ahead and put the Windsor in the silver fox like you mentioned doing. I have a 90 Fox Body hatch that I have acquired a roller block 351W to swap in.
The Calypso, is a blank slate. You also said the interior needs some work. That's perfect for a full party car. Since you don't have to do much, if anything, to the exterior, you're a little bit a head in that regard.
Should you go with a Coyote in the Calypso, like comments are suggesting, then get in touch with Power by the Hour in Florida. They are Coyote swap masters. Yes, Coyotes love boost. Secondly, also get in touch with Lund Racing for the tuning of the Coyote. Lund Racing has some 3k customers, so they know the Coyote. Also Lund Racing has a 2011 Mustang GT they call the Grey Goose. Lund Racing won this past World Cup Street Fighter class with the Grey Goose running a best of 6.79 @ 209mph. The Grey Goose still runs the stock Ford ECU and its a twin turbo set up.
I know it was just a decision I had to make and at the time it felt stressful lol , I’m a pushrod girly though but the coyote platform is amazing , my fiance is actually coyote swapping his cobra currently too so that will be exciting to see once finished.
@LalaFox92 nothing wrong with push rod engines. They do make torque. If you don't know, NeoMustangs(also on TH-cam) has done a 351W budget build. He's dropped that in a Fox Body. Couldn't hurt to get in touch with him regarding the 351W swap.
That Coyote engine is a game changer. I think your fiance will be pleased with the swap. I have a 14 Mustang GT. It's a manual, so it a lot of fun to rip thru the gears. Power by the Hour, for the Coyote swap. Lund Racing for the performance aspect of the Coyote. I know I mentioned them before, both of them are the "Go to" people for their respective elements.

I’m late watching this, but if I was in your position I would just upgrade silver and make it the tatas car with the 351 Windsor. Then make the other car the party car with the 302. Party automatic and car shows, silver tatas car is manual and racing.

Whatever cars cleaner make the street car. Having to cut up a mint Calypso notch to put a 25.3 or 25.1 cage in is going to hurt. Cut up the silver car. For anyone who doesn't know putting that type of certified cage in any car requires you to cut it up
That’s my dilemma! The calypso is too clean to cut up honestly 😭 but I just don’t know 😭😭 it breaks my heart to do it to the silver car because of the connection I have with it
Now that I actually sit here and think about it either way you do it it's going to suck because if you want to make the Calypso the streetcar then that means you have to pull everything out of your silver car put it into the Calypso and then start the tatas and turbos build

That makes sense too , the calypso is a straight and clean car , it’s perfect for drag racing .
If the calypso has a straighter body, then make it your show car/street car. Why spend money on it when you could use that money else where. The silver car is already a race car. A 7 sec car will never have a straight body for real. They get beat up😢 I would do a yote with a blower probably ESS and a 6spd for the fun of driving.
