Born and raised for 32 years. I miss it dearly! My Uncle Robert Mckinzie was Fort Lauderdale Commissioner for 8 years and now is a Broward County commissioner. I hoping I can relocate back in the next year !
I remember Fort Lauderdale when Riverfront existed. The city developed tremendously over the past decade. Thanks for the information . I'll have to check out the new venues you listed.
This is a great video to show off Fort Lauderdale. I would think you would get a lot of response. I Lived in Fort Lauderdale from 1965 for 48 years. And you show my neighborhood in this video. My Parents buit there retirment home in Imperial Point in 1964 for $24,000.00. I Now live in South America with no plans to return north. Florida is sinking. A-1-A in Dania was under water at high tide in 1965. I used to surf down there. Six months of the year you have to worry about your house blowing away. And now home insurance has doubled. It was no longer fun and mostly tourist. And, let's face it, the U.S. is not a safe place anymore, especially for children. Definitely not the country I grew up in. And it has become way over priced. I now live in a 4 level townhome on the main intersection, similar to Las Olas, in a small tourist town, for $550.00 a month, $6.75 for water, $30.00 for electric and $4.75 for gas. It was fun when I was just visiting Fort Lauderdale for college Easter break in the 1960s, but life there was not my dream. It was way too hot! Where most people go there to retire, I retired 12 years ago, at 68, and I left for South America, where days average 60-65 and nights 45-50. Everyone has their dream and finding it is the hard part.
Saved your video for future review. Half of this couple in the Philly suburbs of NJ is retired, and we won't relocate while Mom is still alive (she's 88) as we're her caretaker. That being said, we've looked at real estate in the past year as we vacation every December in the area -- usually Pompano Beach -- but find the home prices have gone up WAY to much! Our NJ 2100 square foot townhouse lot would sell for 1/2 of what home prices are in FLL. That being said, we would investigate Senior Developments as we wouldn't have to worry about maintenance and we don't need a waterfront home. Thanks for explaining the area in 10 minutes as we've learned about some new developments that we've never heard of before seeing this video.
I'm thinking of coming for holiday to florida laurdale an was just asking if I need a visa to visit as I've never flown to florida an don't know the requirements to travel to USA an would be grateful for any information or anything would be appreciated many thanks richard
Hi Richard! Thanks for reaching out. Whether or not you need a visa to visit Florida depends on your nationality. If you’re from a country that participates in the Visa Waiver Program (VWP), you can travel to the U.S. for tourism for up to 90 days without a visa, but you’ll need to apply for an ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authorization). If your country is not part of the VWP, you’ll likely need a visitor visa (B-2). It’s best to check with the U.S. embassy or consulate in your country for specific details. Hope this helps, and safe travels! ✈️🌴
@@LIVSouthFlorida Looked at several of them. Just didn't love anything for the price. Found one in Pompano for $2 million on the water that was super outdated.
I've lived in ft. lauderdale almost sixty years , and I've renamed it from "ft. lauderdale" to "FT. LAUDERHELL"!! the area code is "954" , do the math: 9+5+4=(18) , divide (18) into three units (6*6*6) , MARK OF THE BEAST!! their is a wickness on broward county that is second to none , given it's size , first chance I get , I'm leaving and "NEVER" coming back!!

What communities do you recommend for affordable housing on the beach with nice views of white sand beaches!??? 😊😊😊
There are none 🤣
Que buena información. Desde Argentina Lionel Messi fue a vivir ahí. No es pelígrosa por los huracanes?
Florida es un gran lugar para vivir y los huracanes no son tan malos. A Messi le encanta estar aquí 🙌🏼

I am gonna reach out. Been looking in Fort Lauderdale the last few weeks. I found a house I am interested in, but would consider other options.
Did you end up finding the house?

Does the city speak mainly English?
Yes!
As a native New Yorker, I celebrate Flagler Village.
Love it there!

Seams, you don't obey stop signs.
I do. I just sped up the video so it looks like I’m rolling through it but I’m stopping.
