❤I lived and worked at South Beach years 1993-96(Madelines and JB Dungaree) .The golden years of South Beach.Vercace had morning coffee at News Cafe.Madonna, Stallone,Lenny Kravitz, Cindy Crawford, Jamie Lee and Arnold doing True Lies movie etc.❤Fantastic memories❤love from Finland
Joe, I’ve planned my whole adult life to return to South Beach. I’m taking care of my father until he passes in the mid west. He doesn’t want to leave his home. I respect that. I plan to retire to south of fifth. Thinking a 1 bed on Meridian etc. Lived there 15th and Meridian) when I taught there decades ago. Do to financial reality, will have to live in one of the old small condos. Still paradise to me. For my wife and I, it’s all about the beach and food. Thinking it may still be a few more years, but you never know. All the best. Well crafted video.
Thank you for sharing your story and kind words! South of Fifth truly is a special place, with its unique charm and access to the beach and dining. Even the smaller condos can feel like paradise when you’re close to everything you love.
I love going to Miami and South Beach because it’s actually affordable vacation coming from New England. Just avoid the tourist traps and it’s amazing. Hope to move there someday.
Great video. Very informative. I have lived in Miami for 45 yrs, thought I knew S. Florida very well, I don't. Thru your video I am learning a lot about the city. Glad I found your channel. Also, very nice voice.
It’s awesome. I enjoy the restaurants, the fresh consistent breeze and the quietness. I’m not going to tell you which neighborhood I’m in for obv reasons.
People should he aware that Miami Beach is tropical weather. Very muggy in the summer and it can rain at any time. It’s definitely not southern California weather. Enjoy Miami for what it is, and it’s definitely becoming a more world class city every year.
I will definitely be buying in South of 5th or West Ave in the next couple years. I'm planning to do an early retirement when I turn 50 (1 year and 10 months away) and living half the year in South Beach and half in Cape Cod, MA where I have a home. I currently work in finance and have been lucky enough to work 100% remotely for the past 4 years. Thankful to be grandfathered in to the pandemic remote work. Now in 2024 most companies are not offering fully remote work anymore. My industry is almost exclusively in NYC (Hedge fund CFO). I want to make absolutely sure nothing happens with my job for 2 more years in which case I would have to move back to NYC for a year or two to finish my career which is why I am waiting to make the Florida purchase until then. Great video!
I lived in Miami Beach for 5 years and PARKING was my main issue. Of I needed to drive on a Sunday, good luck finding parking !! I hated that part of living there.
From driving there, I'd say the picture is accurate. Narcissist hispanic mindset at display, lines of slow moving vehicles for miles especially at peak hours of traffic. I say living in FL, a lot of bad things show including some of the people/mindsets, and especially the hispanic ones, they show exactly why their society is made of cartels, deceit, lies, and corruption. Everything badly planned and overpriced in Miami because it's an old city and they didn't even demolish and redo some of it. I really find no reason and dislike going to that area. Of course there's a few good people mixed in. I think you'll find though almost everything in Miami seems overhyped or for tourists. If you live a little bit north or in a better, less crowded area, it is still getting to be crowded but you get just about everything plus more; because maybe more people you like do the same thing, and it's less ridiculously crowded, etc.. Many people even the quality of men and women, if they want to be seen and want to be a socialite, imo, they aren't getting it from cities like miami or ny, they just are wasting money..
Great video overall. covered a ton. I think you could have mentioned more authentic restos to give an idea of what its like not to be a tourist. Motek is a chain..Versace is the only authentic resto on ocean drive. Mykonos/prime/etc. There are many authentic restaurants in sunset harbor that are unique. Grocery stores really do require a car here. Theyre far from the beach
Love the Miami area and have thought of moving there. I would like to retire there in about 4 years. I have a question about the affordability of housing and yearly insurance cost? Is it really as high as some say it is?
You didn't mention the current condo issues. Maybe South Beach isn't experiencing that sort of thing. Also, you didn't mention if there is a predominantly gay neighborhood to live in. Thanks.

South Beach is like Vegas Strip without the casinos. Everyone wants to be there so if you go you have to accept the crowds.
@@guidedmeditation2396and an Ocean, Vegas doesn't have that.

Totally! It's all about embracing the Miami vibe - even the humidity.

Sounds like a great plan - you're going to love South Beach!

Definitely one of the downsides of living in a popular neighborhood like South Beach.

Did anyone else know there were local gems in South Beach? Time to explore beyond Ocean Drive!
Great vid.
great video, i like the way you explain things.
Appreciate it, I love making videos about Miami.
Good work. Your channel will blow up in 2025, I'm calling it! Let me know if you ever need some drone shots of Miami. I have a ton of stock footage

Great video. Miami is my favorite city to visit in the US.
Glad you enjoyed the video!
Super good info! Would love to see you do something similar for coconut grove and Edgewater. Looking to potentially move there
Those two areas are calm areas where real living can be realized. Then if you want some action venture over to where it's more electric.
Great idea, those are on my list for future videos!
So many people don't know the ocean water is very warm at the beaches there. It's like warm bathwater.
Lucali is awesome

Drum circle was canceled 7 months ago.
Tourist towns are great except for the tourists.
