I have really enjoyed watching these videos! I rarely watch bookshelf tours, but I knew you would have interesting books. A Fine Balance is devastating but so, so good. Definitely give Remains of the Day a try. It is a quiet gem of a book.
"I ran across this one while I was shopping" HAHAHAHAHA - great pun on the book from IRAN LOL What an interesting life ... three and a half years in Cairo! And lots of interesting books and authors - not your average booktuber library! You are the first Booktuber that I've seen that has read (or even owns!) Naguib Mahfouz. I only own the first two, but have yet to read them. Maybe 2025?
Yeah I do that sometimes. 😂 Love Mahfouz's writing! I want to read more from him. I also enjoyed Midaq Alley and the short stories collection called The Quarter. I recommend Midaq Alley. Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@browngirlreading I have Midaq Alley, too, and two others. Only 5 books by an author I have never read. It's no wonder why physical TBR pile is over 800 books.
1Q84 - yeah, ditch it! I thought that his women were particularly written bad in that one. Every time you meet (or re-meet) the women characters, you get a description of their chests; you don't know if they are 4 ft 6 inches or 6 ft 2 inches, have short hair or long, but you can surely identify them by their breasts. kinda one note, and gets boring and even annoying after a few pages. Unfortunately, every third page mentions breasts, not to mentioned other body parts. (some people didn't mind that though; you decide if that's for you) Beautiful cover, though.
I have really enjoyed watching these!!!!!!!
Awesome! Thank you! I really hesitated to do these because I just wasn't sure if people would be interested. Thanks for watching and commenting!

Glad you like them! I do believe A Fine Balance is going to make it on my TB R in 2025
Omg! I have Palace Walk on my 2025 TBR! Glad you enjoyed it!
Hope you enjoy it! I want to reread it and finish books 2 & 3. IT's been ages that it's been on my shelves.
I put a bunch of the books you showed today on my wish list. I highly recommend the Joy luck club. I also love the film
I'm so glad! The joy Luck Club will surely get read next year. I can't believe I haven't read it yet.
Loved A Fine Balance. Read it earlier this year. Gave it 5 stars
I remember you saying you really loved it. I'll definitely try to put it on my 2025 TBR.
Looking forward to the graphic novels
Lawd!😩 I have so many but I love reading them.

So many books, so little time....
Mishima - is that blood splatter on the cover ?
The bound feet would be a hard read for me.
Yes I'm sure it will be a difficult read.

Ugh! No regrets. I just remember a few people saying he was overrated. Out the door it's going.
