    I really hope you never run out of that joke. Oh, and cool review, too. I usually come for the jokes and stay for the content. Still slightly out of my price range, though, even on sale.

      I'll keep on using the joke then. 😀 Thanks!

    Awesome review! I vote for you to continue to use the joke, but appear to be in pain when you use it. That was hilarious. Thanks again for the great info!

      Thanks! I want to see if I can find other creative ways to use that one, so it doesn't get too stale.

    AMS in the emails is "After Market Support".
    The choice of not providing an automatic cutter makes ANY AMS like Bambu Lab impossible, so no AMS is coming to Q1. To Q2, maybe.

    • @BV3D
      @BV3D  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That makes sense. When I see "Aftermarket," I think of third-party add-ons for things. The support address is more for "after sales support," but I totally get why they didn't use the first initials of THAT for an email address. 😅

    Thank you for the review . I’m thinking about ordering one to replace my old ender v2. Any taught about the belt tensioner ? Rumour say that its not working well .

    Q1AMS: could mean Q1 After Market Sales., because the other one says support. Nice video Brian, pun away mate.

      @BV3D  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Well, heck. There goes my theory! 😅

      @@BV3D I’ve queried regarding MMU to QIDI. Btw there is a new firmware out for Q1 Pro. X Max3 and X Smart 3 have the AMS suffix in the email, but not X-Plus 3. Who knows.

      Hope for your theory survives,@@BV3D- if you look at the Optional Components list, links to STLs list Qidi's after sales email address (or at least gmail account address) is qidiaftersales, no "m" :)

    Ive been saving for a new 3d printer. Currently have anycubic vyper. It’s SLOW and a bit inaccurate on corners. Want a Bambu but feel like I have been saving and waiting long enough that I should wait for their next gen core x/y. This one does make me wonder if this is the one though

    What are your thoughts on the door "handle"?

    • @BV3D
      @BV3D  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Could be better. I mean it's not the worst, but it would be nice if there was a slight indentation on the bottom right corner.

    I've got one on pre-order. I've only seen it mentioned on one other review that one of the included files alongside the benchy and coin tower is a locking collar for the filament holder, can you confirm?

    I sent qidi tech a question asking if this printer works for cura and they said that cura is not for high speed printers. .. somehow I think that I can still use cura but they just didn't want to answer my question. This is weird because I could swear that I saw Cura listed among the compatible slicers in their specifications for this machine... It makes me a bit dissatisfied

    • @BV3D
      @BV3D  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I can't think of a reason Cura wouldn't work to slice files for the printer. You might have to use the QidiSlicer's start G-code as a guide to set the start G-code in Cura, and maybe use a script to post-process the G-code file to do things like manage the chamber heater, but at its heart it's a printer running Klipper, and there are any number of other Klipper-based printers that work just fine with Cura.
      The text at the bottom of the specs table on the printer's page says it works with "QIDI Slicer and other third-party software, such as PrusaSlicer, Orca etc." I guess Cura lands in the "etc" category.

    I have one coming in the post tomorrow, however bewared it CANNOT print TPU. !
    Which is a shame. Still I’m looking forward to getting mine.

    • @stew675
      @stew675 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      It can print TPU. It even lists it as a compatible filament on their site.

    I now have the Qidi Tech X-Plus-3 Printer my 1st enclosed core xy one. and I love it. it is fast and works really well.
    I saw this new printer you reviewed and I won't be buying it. In fact I was going to save up and buy the Qidi Tech X-Max-3 as well later.
    But now decided not to buy it as at around £800 it is allot to save up!
    I have the Elegoo Neptune 3 and the Max version printers so I have also the BTT Pad 7 so when
    I figure out how to use the klipper system on it to upgrade the Neptune 3 and 3 Max to klipper versions I be using them instead of buying the X-Max-3 I will not now buy.
    I be dismantling the other two printers I have as they just are a pain to use now!
    They are the FL Sun QQ-S Pro Delta printer and the Aquila I upgraded.
    I be building a room inside the room I use for my 3D printers which I be putting fire proof and sound proof tiles in to help
    with the fan noises and stable and safe printing heat. But I not buy any more printers now! Just use the 3 FDM printers and the 1 resin printer I have.
    Too pricey keep buying printers and better to make use of the best ones and save money for the extra electricity costs I have now.
