To me this seems like the most overall capable machine for the money right now. Very impressive and at the top of my list. I hear Qidi has already made a few improvements for new printers shipping now as well.

They also went on to explain that the new version is only in China right now, but as stock is updated it will go out globally. That's their guess anyways. Not sure if the door will ever get a handle. Hahaha.
Awesome review! Loved seeing the office as a backdrop, such a nice space. I thought this printer was amazing as well, nice to see Qidi keeping up the work they did with the X-series.
I’ve had my Q1 pro for over a month and it’s been fantastic. No problems whatsoever able to print anything I want. I’ve added the carbon filter they have on their website and there’s a modification to mount it behind the unit that works well. I’m using virtually only the Qidi filament because it just prints so fast compared to other filaments such as ABS and ASA and PETG. Outstanding products at a outstanding price.
FYI for filtration Qidi includes a carbon filter box STL that you can print and put your filter material in and add to the printer behind the back plate.
Trouble is not only does that not make a proper seal but you've got to take the back off to change the carbon which probably means not doing it as often as you should. Could just give you a false sense of safety
Really wanting it but I think i'm going to wait a tad longer for the larger version if they do it. I was super convinced to get this but the build size is just odd and I feel finding replacement sheets down the road will be a pain. I feel they should have at least done 256mm but 300 would have been the icing on the cake.
I'd love to see that screen UI come to the x-3 series in landscape mode. Should be easily doable in a firmware update... Also, those hotend covers look like the updated one for the x-3 series too. Qidi sent it to me free.
I have a Qidi X-smart 3 and a Flashforge Adventurer 5m. I find myself using the Qidi more often. I do want another enclosed printer with a bit larger build space. Been waffling back and forth between the Q1 Pro and the flashforge 5m pro....... not sure which way I will go yet. I do know that the PS1 is just a bit out of my price range. But that is the machine that most folks are comparing it to so that must say something for it.
@@AnonymousHippo5 yes for sure. More automated and has a heater in the chamber for when you are ready to print more demanding materials. The TX is better built with metal and glass, but the Q1 is a more polished product from start to finish. In my opinion.
They are doing a AMS style multicolor. If you look on their website, under support for the Q1 Pro there is a email address for the Q1 Pro and Q1 pro AMS.
I never had the Max3, but I have owned two XPlus3 machines. I would say its way more hands off and even more reliable. I havent done a thing to this machine and we are still printing with it quite often here at my office.
I set mine up a week ago and it quit (dead screen and everything) mid print two days ago. A puff of smoke from the print head convinced me to send it back to Amazon and buy Bambu .
@staramysiepomagac it's what happened, believe what you will. I would much rather it not have been the case. Cost me a bunch shipping it back, because I had discarded the box.
@3DPrintSOS so far, so good. It was a shocker for me. When it happened, I contacted Qidi and while waiting for a response the puff of smoke convinced me to unplug completely and return. Last thing I wanted was an electrical fire in my house.
It’s a 250x250 and you said you wish it was the same as your outgoing printer that’s between 220 and 300.. last time I checked 250mm is between 220 and 300.
Great review. I think your reviews are now better than Auroratech now. I will be sure to leave a comment on her videos and let her know you have passed her up.
It's odd, but I think of QIDI as HP of 3d printers. I was waiting so long for HP to bring out a home printer yet gave up and moved to QIDI for my very first printer of 3 years ago (QIDI X-Plus). But the multi color should be coming. If you look at the support emails one of the emails is for multicolor? Also the cutter is missing and is the main reason it is so hard to replace filaments right now.
Adding a full filtration system would EXPLODE the cost of this machine. easily adding another $150-$200 , Putting it out of reach and out of the market space of most people. And as this is actually focused at the Consumer market there is not a lot of people printing with ASA or ABS etc all the time. certainly not the majority are. Maybe come out with an optional snap on filter system but just including it in the normal package is a bad idea
@@3DPrintSOS OH! I thought you meant a full air vacuum filter system lol. one with multistage filtering and the like. Yeah just a few paper filters would be nothing to add
I made active carbon filter to my laser engraver, pack of two 170mm coocer hood filter cost 12 euro and it fit perfectly to 1 kg youghurt bucket :-) so its dirt cheap as DIY. add fan or vacuum cleaner and its done. (and because you have 3D printer, adapters are easy to do to fitting things)
This machine was so close to being perfect. The power button placement is terrible. The button is next to the power cord but on the inside (towards the middle) so you have to reach around the back of the machine and around the power cable to press the power button. For a short guy like me with t-rex arms, it’s a huge inconvenience to power on/off. Other than that it’s a great machine
Have you tried using an extension lead with individual on/off switches? I get it's an extra spend for something that shouldn't be an issue to begin with, but we can work around it and hopefully they learn for the next models

Have a Bambu Lab X-1 carbon. Question does the purge bucket is just too small so that would tend to not help the cause me to buy it. It’s kind like the Bambu A-1 with it purge that is even worse. I think there next machine will fix all the little things that put off me.

Thanks Leo. I’m going to keep this setup as clean and easy as possible. So, you might see it again as more things come in to try. ;)
Just got mine! Cant wait to start printing with it. Going to be doing Cosplay in ASA and ABS!

where to get the print in place car you mention in the video?
Can we please get a link to those print in place cars? The kids would LOVE those! Thank you!!!
Is the QiDi Q1 Pro a open source printer?
have you printed petg?
PETG is my kryptonite. But it should be an issue. Especially if this does ABS and ASA so easily.

If they don't, or until they do, would be awesome to see a system like Chameleon, ERCF or some other MMU hooked up to it as a review
It could also mean after market support as that is what they reference the support on multiple pages. But I would very much prefer an AMS system :D
An integrated Qidi made AMS on this printer w/ the heated chamber… omg… heaven. If they release a “Plus" model it would be killer.
The reason abs sticks is because the heated chamber. It doesn't want to warp as much.
I have several other machines with heated chambers…I gotta lather those beds up for the adhesion to be even.

does this printer handle flexible filament? My voxelab aquila cant use flex filament.
Do you recommend Qidi q1 pro, Creality K1 or K1C for a total beginner of 3D printing? (Easy to use, print quality, versatility of various material)
Qidi Q1 Pro because of its heater. If you want a bit more of a “suite” of apps and wider accessories and mods, the creality machines win.
I wonder if I should have got this instead of my Reborn 2.
Nah, different animals. But I do like this one a lot. although I’d much rather modify the Reborn over this.
