It's a Mecha+Magical Girl of sorts+Singing anime where the songs of the girls has special powers ect for the fighters(mecha) and Messer is one of the characters in the anime. I don't really remember what episode, but Messer DIA(Died in Action), before fighting to his death, he asked Kaname to sing him one final song. So basically she sang the song called 'AXIA~Daisuki de Daikirai~' and by the end of her song, Messer finally won the battle, but he was fatally wounded and died in Kaname hands as soon as he landed and came out of his mecha cockpit. (That's in the anime series). However in the movie, Messer was shot through his cockpit and died on spot mid air. In the anime series, he managed to Dodge that. The point is, after Messer's death, I think the next episode(?) All the girls and stuffs went out to the sea and place a replica of his mecha so it can sail away with Messer soul of sorts. So all the girls sang this song 'Giraffe Blues' and midway...it was super heart breaking when Kaname decided to join in too. PS. Messer was in love with Kaname. So was she. But their love wasn't meant to be. It didn't get the chance to bloom or blossom. But the chemistry they both shared was stronger than anything. It's a really goof Anime if you like mecha. I might be wrong somewhere since it's been a long while since I watched the anime. I only watched it once when it was aired in 2016. So my memories might fail me. So, the point is. I hope Messer's soul and spirit could hear Kaname's song from wherever he is at...

This is my favorite version of this song. Not only because of her voice but because it fits the best for in universe with Kaname's love for Messer but not sharing openly until his death. This is the only point I cried watching the show or the movie. The feeling in this song even when I don't have the subtitles for it on it still hits.

But then she goes and sings this to send him off, while she continues to chase the captain instead. She never even looked Messer's way in terms of romance. She only sent him off with a song, and then went back to trying to romance the captain. It would have been beautiful if she had realized and confessed her love for Messer as well instead. Then they would have been Lovers separated by a tragic fate. Instead she is selfishly sending off a friend who loved her. Then directly afterwards proceeding to go for the captain like before.
