This is the aftercooler I used: amzn.to/4gSlQQJ The particulate filter: amzn.to/4a2WEVM The stainless pressure hose: amzn.to/3PfbFtZ And some of my other favorites: www.amazon.com/shop/flawedoffroad (these are affiliate links)
Probably wont be as fast as a 2 stage but it will be much faster than my 3.1 cfm 21 gallon POS that I have been using. Plus having 80 gallons of volume will do wonders. Maybe next spring/summer I will put it outside and build a little hush house with insulation for sound deadening. That was the original plan but I opted for "get it running" first
Proof of concept confirmed. Now time to tweak and finesse. Great job, Dan. Can't wait to see it finished. Glad I'm nit the 9nly one that tells inanimate objects to, "STAY!"
Thanks! I wish I was farther ahead on this project so I could release the second video right after. But the truth is, I still haven't procured the new pressure switch and continued forward yet with the holidays and all.
A lot of the various plugs for 22O/240v stuff is different according to the amp load needed by the appliance. So the funky angle and shape of the contacts helps prevent people from under sizing a wall outlet because they used to only need 30amp, and now they need 50amp… yeah it’s annoying but it’s sorta for the better. 🤷♂️ Great video btw I have a similar tank but I have the original pump on it from IR that I got for a stupid good deal. But the welds on the factory bung for the inlet leak a tiny bit so it always drains down overtime. You might also want to put an extension on the drain for the tank so you can get moisture out easier than the spinning one that was broken.
they should just make all the breakers and wiring handle 50 amp haha. I have the stuff for drain extension. I talked about it but cut that part out of the video as it was originally over an hour long. I cut a lot of stuff out
I built an air compressor out of an old Chrysler air condintioner compressor bought an old wornout compressor (25.00) and used the tank and regulator, welded brackets for the Chrysler compressor and mounted. Had a small auto repair shop that compressor lasted 30 years

What a great project! Good ole yankee ingenuity. Gonna be a beast.

I love old junk given a new life. My 80 gallon compressor used to run the brakes on a train in the 40's
