Luxury has many levels, I agree with that. Understated yes. Clean and simple to use and understand. Our woods and carbon fiber used is real. Our stitching fed though the machines by hand.
It’s still a very worthy brand. They will never be able to please everyone. Same with Lincoln, Lexus, BMW. I test drove vehicles from all 3 of those manufacturers and went with the Cadillac. Are there certain things I don’t care about it? Yep. My main gripe is with the engine horsepower being kinda low for a premium brand but that said I can’t think of a situation where I’d need a 400 horsepower engine. The 3.6L 9 speed automatic is plenty strong. I have no idea why GM thought it would be a good idea to put a 2.0L turbo 4 banger under the hood of the entry level XT-5 for such a heavy SUV. They can give that engine a 20 speed automatic and it would still be not worth it! I’ve also got a 2011 SRX “Performance Edition” (whatever that means) with a 3.0L V6 and it’s rated at 265HP I think. It cruises really nice on the open highway but you’ve got to really press the gas to get the thing going. For only having 41,218 miles on it it has been a maintenance nightmare. All of those issues aside I still love my XT-5 Sport Platinum and my SRX. No car is perfect but for me my XT-5 is pretty close to it; even with the understated cheap interior lol.
I bought an XT5 3 months ago.Its the luxury model w/ 20" wheels.My all time favorite vehicle.I got the red w/ black interior.My only gripe is w/ the 20" wheels the ride is firm.I fully expected this but it looks so much better I don't care.Just ceramic coated mine ,its stupid shiny..
@@tuxiekins a good wash,clay bar to get rid of impurities then apply in spray form.car is garage .Seems to last & looks good.Glad it wasn't an Escalade.lol
On the XT4(I'd assume it'd be the same for the 5), for the radio, only two of four different salespeople I met with knew that you can tune "frequency by frequency", i.e. use the console controller to tune manually1490, 1480,1470,1460, etc. I would use this feature on long trips just to see what's on each frequency (even if only a weak signal)...this would be preferable to scanning in my opinion.
Why? That’s actually a great safety feature. I had a coworker who’s car rolled over her daughters foot because she forgot to put it in park and the car rolled back. The only thing I definitely don’t like about my XT5 Sport is the engine turns off when I stop at a stoplight. Thankfully I was able to go into the vehicle settings and turn that feature off! I absolutely love my XT5 but I do agree with another reviewer who mentioned some of the cheaper materials being used on the interior. It’s a Cadillac! It shouldn’t have plastic anything!
Great detailed reviews. Two questions...xt5/6 are one of the few vehicles of this class w Nightvision. Do u have experience using the system and thoughts if u do please? And I understand that the rearview camera mirror has a wash feature...does that also wash the reverse camera? Thanks
I can't wait to get my hands on one with night vision to try it out. Unfortunalty we don't order that package often, but when we have one ill be sure to put a video together. Regarding the rearview mirror camera, yes there is a washer. As for thr back up camera, I was in an XT6 today and there was a rear washer. Ill have to confirm on the xt5 and XT4

I'd love to know too. We don't have Pandora here in Canada, but in theory you should be able to start the music on your phone and listen to it through wireless streaming
As technology grows it is so important to have these conversations with your sales person. Last month I also had a customer assume it came with this feature. Good thing we found out in time. I was able to upgrade him and get him what he wanted. It would have been very disappointing if he missed out on adaptive cruise
Lots of new stuff here as compared to 2017/18 models. I wonder how much of this stuff the average customer even knows about, much less grasps how to use. So complex.
Most customers are not given ample time to review and ask questions about there vehicles. Personally there are e occasions when I do this with my clients. Before, during pick up and a week later. Most customers never take me up on the last one. This is the reason I starred doing these videos
Yea ,I bought a low mileage 18 ,luxury package w 20" rims.I like the bigger paddles & a few more options.I haven't gotten comfortable w/ all the features on mine.Its like flying the Concorde lol!
had to look in these comments as 6 months ago after having been in an accident in our MKX I purchased a used renewed 2018 (not sure of the date it was re-constructed though) and thought this "how to would be good as my YT search was for a 2018 model) Saw differences from my Platinum and thanks to you I understand why there were differences so I have to be somewhat careful in trying to get my wife to be able to use the vehicle as she is now the only driver. I don't seem to have voice for phone or navigation and some things in Navigation are different in my printed version compared to the online/pdf version from Cadillac. Can be a bit frustrating. Thanks for your info.

How about the Adaptive Cruise control, also what trim level is ACC offered on as standard.
Adaptive cruise is not seen very often my my area, however it is available as an option in the y66 package, available on Sport and Premium models.
Very disappointed that I this feature didn’t come with the Sport model that I just purchased.
