I’d like an XT5 with V6, AWD, and 20” wheels. I don’t need all the latest technology. Smooth ride. Reliable (according CR). Nice interior and features. Perfectly adequate for me.
Hi Joe, After your review, we bought the XT5 Premium Luxury. Have not been disappointed, thank you for the excellent reviews. Keep up the good work and I must mention the outstanding camera work. Look forward to more of your reviews.

Funny you mention the visibility. I test drove one of these and loved everything except the rear visibility. In all honesty I thought it was one of the most difficult SUVs to see out of that I have ever driven...

Just sold my 2014 CTS 3.6 AWD, and traded in my wife’s 2012 SRX 3.6 FWD, for a 21 Premium Luxury XT5 V6 AWD. Rides better than either of those, and is quiet. I absolutely hated the Run Flats on my CTS. But the CTS handled as good as my 99 Corvette C5.
Your reviews are excellent! So thorough I went to drive the 2022 XT5 it's beautiful! Everything you said was true! Drove the 2022 Lexus 300 also nice car but for me the Cadillac gave luxury seating , good feeling ride less feel of the road it was amazing . I'm sold !!! Thank you 🎉
I have a 2017 XT5. One thing you didn't mention, I'm 6'2", 300+ LBS. For anybody my size this is the easiest car to get in or out of. I've owned BMWs and Mercedes. On lease this is my forth Cadillac and it's the finest car I've driven. Nothing beats the Cadillac ride, period. I am waiting for the Lyriq with great anticipation.
I drive a 2017 XT5. I love it. It's a little harsh and uncommonly loud for a luxury suv. But it's a Cadillac and I love it. FTR, if I were to get another suv of this size, it would definitely be an Audi. However, tbs, I would definitely not pass on upgrading to a XT6 or the Ecalade or maybe even the venerable CT6.
I am currently driving my 7th Cadillac. Switched from a couple of other labels but always came back to GM. It's really a good car. I like the way this guy describes the vehicle. I was gonna buy one any way
I love my Platinum. I use mine as a cruiser so the V6 works better for me. The turbo acceleration on the V4 is fun and impressive, but, again, the 6 works better for my needs.
I purchased a 2017 certified XT5 almost a year ago. Overall, I like the vehicle and I’ve owned many Volvos, Acura and Mercedes. My biggest gripe, the ride is a bit too stiff and road impact harshness good be better. Coarse road surfaces brings on many interior buzzes, not a impression of luxury. But hey, for 23k for used with 37k miles on it, I’m happy with my choice.
An 8" center screen is starting to look small when the center screens in other cars are in the double digits of at least 10.25 to 13.2" (in the 2021 Nautilus). I hope Cadillac increases that screen size for the next gen XT5
I like your reviews and trust your opinion, your review of the XT5 encouraged me into buying my XT5 Premium Luxury 3.6 , so happy ever after. Thank you.
I like this model, its the same platform as the 2016 Chevy Equinox. Very plush! The V6 is powerful for 3.6 ltrs. Yes, its expensive, but its a Cadillac!
It's good to see that XT 5 is still maintaining that old styling. I know it's time to move on with the new Escalade and XT 6 design. But the feeling of Old Nostalgia is still priceless. Awesome review buddy 👍.
I took this out for a cruise and it was a very comfortable ride. Your critiques are spot on as always but was a nice luxury ride. I'm still stuck between the Q5 and Mazda CX-5 GTR. If I could I'd get both. Until the next ride Joe. I will say the Heads-up display was much clearer & easier to see than the Mazda.
Cadillac still retains the sleek and stately long angular lines of the 80s, 90s Seville, Fleetwood & DeVille. With such beautiful designs, they still struggle against other luxury Euro, Japanese brands.
While I love my Mazda CX5, I'm ready to move up to something a little more luxurious but I don't want it bulky, like the Escalade. That's why I was looking at the XT6 (for the extra room). The XT5 would be like driving my car I think lol.
I have actually been researching the Jaguar F-Pace.... which can be had with a Turbo4 or their new twincharged Inline6 for upcoming 2021 models. 2020 and before the supercharged V6 is available along with the Turbo4. No matter which engine option the F-Pace uses the acclaimed ZF-8speed tranny, used in so many euro offerings because of its relaibility and performance. Jag just updated their interior for 2021(model yet to be on the market) but even the current car on the market is nice inside. Dynamically I think the Jag would have a better sporty ride due to its rear wheel drive bias. Can't speak to prices, but slightly used low mile Jags have great depreciation so its not as expensive to obtain one as one may think. Also, the Jag is elegantly designed...good interior space and all. Grace, space & pace... old Jag motto.
I don't hate the car but OMG why is Cadillac in love with these turbo 4 cylinder engines. I keep my car over 10 years. These engines are not built to last that long so sorry I cant buy it.
JOE ~ the good the bad & the ugly lol. this SUV has it all. I guess Caddie fans will like it, yeah the seats are nice & there are many good points to it, but it also leaves much to be desired, I feel like GM just kind of threw a bunch of left over parts together & said - look we have a new Caddie SUV. It is going to be right up there with those Stephanie.
Nice felt lining so you don't scratch your m&m's
Never really considering a Crossover SUV but since the rising prices of vehicles lately… I’m considering between XT5 or the Ford Edge. Thanks Raiti Rides‼️
Xt5 is better xt5 competes with the lincoln nautilus not edge
Cadillac is competeting with Mercedes, BMW, Audi, Tesla ...
Ford Egde your mainly competing with Chevy, Dogde... but your also in price range with Nissan, Toyota, Honda, Mazda, etc etc.
@@issavibez394yup something under then Cadillac, Mercedes, BMW but more luxurious then Ford, Mazda, Honda = Lincoln(Ford), Lexus, Acura, Buick , GMC .
@buddyboy4438 I have driven some cadillacs that performed better than some benz and bmw I was shocked
It's nice enough but nothing really wowed me about it. The interior doors are lovely though.
Between the xt5 and xt6 is the seat widths and cabin width the same? I don’t need 3 rows but want the most comfortable seat.
It would be better if Cadillac displayed the liters of displacement, instead of the Newton- metres of torque.
I think they should just leave it as XT5. It just confuses people.
@@RaitisRides good point!
You can remove it easily
Great review
I would buy a Audi Q5 if I had the money.
Same here!
Was there any mention of the stop and go technology on the 2020 vs the previous years
