Im glad you posted this today. My daughter's cat attacked me and bit me so badly I had to be on an IV antibiotic drip 3x a day for a full week, about a year ago. Two days ago me and my daughter rushed him to the vet bc he just wasn't well and struggling to breathe. $5k later he died, he was full of cancer. The vet called him "an angry kid" bc he was. Today I have to pick his poor little body up and we are burying him, I really don't want to have to but there's no one else to do it, my daughter can't drive. 😢 its a sad day. Glad this little one is carrying on the Angry Cat brand in his place. Thanks anyone who read this, I just needed to get it out.
I was bitten by a neighbor’s cat, and it took 5 months of treatment on my hand to kill the infection. Fortunately I had just recently read that cat bites are much more dangerous than dogs’ because cats have extremely sharp pointed teeth and when they bite, whatever’s in their mouths gets pushed deep into the wound. I had a pasteurella infection and only the high dose of Cipro killed it. But I knew to get to the ER and they started the IV antibiotics within 3 hours of the bite. Still, a 5 months fight. Take heed, people, please! Cat bites can be life-threatening.

Agreed, poor thing was in so much discomfort :( I just really hope that the owners can get her shaved somewhere else and then be able to actually maintain the coat, after seeing what their poor cat looked like in this video. I know not all cats are easy for brushing and may require patience or different brushes or simply short brushing sessions, but having a long haired cat and NOT brushing is not helping the animal. If they can't handle a long haired cat, they might want to reconsider getting her properly groomed (shaved) regularly or consider finding her a more suitable home.

I'm giving the benefit of the doubt that Maude has likely always been difficult to groom. When you can't do something, small tasks spiral out of control and become much bigger. If Maude's owners truly didn't care, they wouldn't have brought her in. We also don't know about what's going on in their life. Maybe other circumstances have put noticing the cat becoming matted on the back-burner, like financial or mental issues. Also, we don't know where this person lives. Vanessa has said she's one of the few people in her area that even grooms cats. Add in that this cat is fiesty and that shrinks the pool of groomers available to assist to a much shorter list. We've seen where desperate owners have flown across the country to have Vanessa groom their pet because all other groomers have refused them (usually due to just not having the liability insurance if something happens, not out of malice). In short and as Vanessa says, we just don't know the whole story, so we shouldn't jump to conclusions. At the end of the day, the cat was brought in and help was attempted. The owner is doing what they can and we don't need to kick someone when they're down just to feel better about ourselves.

Must have been a very painful matt for her...the attitude change at the end was amazing....hopefully she will remember feeling better and allow her owners to comb her more.... I dread the day my reactive medium haired kitty gets a serious matt....her mood turns on a dime, and I adopted her after she was surrendered for biting...fortunately she's learned to like being combed, but I must pay close attention to her body language and stop when her timer runs out, whether the groom is finished or not. 😸
mine loves getting brushed, but occasionally gets over stimulated. I too must always watch the body language and tell her, nope, that's it for the day, you're getting bitey/swatty
I’ve binged so many of your videos and wanted to thank you for showing these grooms. Covering my cats head has been a game changer in her nail clippings. I’ve got so many scars and for the first time in over a year I’ve been able to trim all 4 paws in one go. 🙌🏼🙌🏼
Thank you so much for helping her!❤She was grateful and she was upset do to pain! There is no excuse to let the fur of your cat get in this terrible condition! Cats are so loving when you take good soft and gentle care of them! In a completely different way as a dog does but with the same diep loyalty and love!
My cat (pictured at right) had serious matting. She also had to be shaved, under sedation, at a vet's office. The matting just crept up on us as she aged, and by the time we really noticed it and began to try to deal with it, it was already a solid mat. I know how difficult trying to deal with a cat in this situation is. Kudos to you!
Well, not so much that they don't calm down, it's just that they take a lot more time, and space is usually needed. If you really upset them, even if they like you, you gotta buy a bit of trust back sometimes. And well, they are more stressed out and on edge than angry or upset. Cats can stay in high alert mode for very long when they feel threatened. They expect the threat to come back, because they know it usually does, so they can take up to several days to calm down in the worst cases. And they very much can tell the difference between you coming at them to "do something" vs not, hence the reaction.
Aww poor kitty... you arecreally good with her for her welfare. Hopefully she can improve now she is more comfortable..with time and positive experiences
Yes, absolutely - hence the comment I made here pointing out the mistakes made. This was a VERY unprofessionally-handled cat, a terrified, pained cat - not an "angry" cat... The aggression stemmed from pain and fear. It's very sad to see the biased and irrational *anger* and fear in the biased human actually swearing at her...

My male cat was so concerned as well!
Mine noped out of my lap. Lol
I am using ear phones so that my fur baby doesnt wake up😂
First time my lazy boy has ever been concerned by what he’s hearing
13:10 She's like: ok I forgive you...BUT AM STILL MAD. >8C
I'll admit, I jumped at the 6:10 mark.
If I had a hat on, I'd take it off to you for sticking with it as long as you did. Bravo!
She's a beautiful kitty and I can see she is a sweetheart. Pain and discomfort affects all of us. I hope her journey forward has regular grooming by her people, always making it a positive thing. She's a good kitty.
She is even spicier than Mayonaise😅
Mayo is a saint compared to this onr 😂😂😂😂
Must make Maude some chipotle mayo. 🤪

Vanessa: " Today we are grooming Maude, the minature Bengal Tiger!" LOL! 😂
This one had me holding my breath, poor cat. Glad you were able to help her, you are so patient and brave. it's cute that she thanked you afterwards, seems like a sweet cat outside of grooming.
Thank you so much for your patience with these animals, and all of your hard work! You are a superhero. And thank you for sharing these videos with us!
Thank you, Vanessa, for your determination to get the worst part done. 🙏🏻 Kitty feels so much better. 😽
Oh dear lord, that poor cat was so matted! 😮 she’s growling because it hurts. Amazing work 👏
That was one of the most intense grooms I've seen you do. I think I held my breath through most of it. You are a brave woman. Your understanding and compassion for these animals is amazing. ❤
I was waiting for smoke to come out the back end of all that revving she was doing 😂.
I’ve binged so many of your videos and wanted to thank you for showing these grooms. Covering my cats head has been a game changer in her nail clippings. I’ve got so many scars and for the first time in over a year I’ve been able to trim all 4 paws in one go. 🙌🏼🙌🏼
She had to feel so much better with all those mats removed. Thank you for your perseverance through her spicieness
Vanessa - I'm trying to help you!
Maude - Behold my tail of Mthrfluffin fury!!!
Aww the way she looks into your eyes though : ( poor baby...And she thanked you too : ) she understood. Even though she was mad about it.
Thank you so much for helping her!❤She was grateful and she was upset do to pain! There is no excuse to let the fur of your cat get in this terrible condition! Cats are so loving when you take good soft and gentle care of them! In a completely different way as a dog does but with the same diep loyalty and love!
Awe poor kitty. I hope the owners are able to finish the grooming by bringing her to the vet. She seems sweet. She was just stressed and upset. ❤
Aw, the "thank you" was precious. God bless you for your efforts with kitties. ❤
8:01 The most genuinely worried S-Bomb ever 😂😂😂
Vanessa fearing for her life 🤣🤣
who else think she is a female version of the beloved mayonaise XD
she might be out-doing mr mayo.
Definitely a female mayo for sure
@@colvyre6622 Yeah, Mayonnaise isn’t this bad, though he has his aggressive moments.
@@LydiaTarine12Right from the start she was growling! 😮
Nope because Mayonnaise has the most redeeming name in the world.
The way she just mellowed after she realized that you helped and immediately got angry again-
That's funny, I stay upset until I can go home too.😂
I think she hit her time limit before she left the house
My cat (pictured at right) had serious matting. She also had to be shaved, under sedation, at a vet's office. The matting just crept up on us as she aged, and by the time we really noticed it and began to try to deal with it, it was already a solid mat. I know how difficult trying to deal with a cat in this situation is. Kudos to you!
Oml that poor baby. You did such a good job with what you could and she obviously appreciated it even if she was still mad.
That kitty’s face is so darn cute!!!
You did a great job providing the care she needs! That matting was bad!
Carolina reaper om the spicy pepper scale.
haha, if i get a cat, that would b a good name. those peppers look pure evil
The cat of the Vikings making her ancestors proud...
Wouldn't it be the cat of Stalin or something? Lol. In Russia, cat grooms YOU.
🤣🤣🤣
@@russellfrancis813 Maude is of the Siberian Viking lineage, lol. And a beautiful Siberian Viking Forest kitty she is, too.
@Sargy18MPBDE there was no vikings in siberia historically.
Or it's some marketing term for cross between siberian cat and Norwegian forest cat?
@@Scriptadiaboly I know. I was being silly.
Aww poor kitty... you arecreally good with her for her welfare. Hopefully she can improve now she is more comfortable..with time and positive experiences
Poor kitty. She's in so much pain. It's loud, she's with a stranger, it hurts, and she's scared. Sweet baby is just fighting for her life.
