I really want to get into building and interior designing in ts4. so far i've struggled with adding depth and dimension to my builds. especially with roofs lmfao. dude thank you sooooooo much for making this video!
Useful stuff! The 9 and 0 trick came in very hand when making a natural pond using stones around the rim, piling them up so they overlap without gaps. Found the Ctrl+F thing on another video but OH MY GOODNESS it was killing me trying to figure out how to place diagonal floor tiles up to then. OOH and I didn't realise shift let you move one side's overhang at a time! This changes everything! These little shortcuts and commands are going to let me have a lot more freedom in my builds now, thanks so much!
This is the best video ever. I watched it when it first came out and I've been coming back to refresh my memory ever since. This really is so good and useful thank you so much for making it
wow, i already knew i suck but this made me realize just how much. i've been playing mainly the sims 2 for like ten years, never really learned how to build on sims 3 and now i'm paying for it because building on 4 is so different from building on 2... i never even learned how to do roofs in sims 2 because it has the automatic roof thing that has always worked well enough for me and i was so shocked when i noticed 4 didn't have that. so i've only been doing flat roofs but this video made me realize i'm doing that wrong too, i haven't actually done anything to the roofs so my flat roofs are actually just floor lol. i thank the sim gods for the pre-built rooms every single time i play because without them i would never get any actual playing done because i would never ever finish a house
Can you do a housebuild where all the walls/ceilings/floors are glass ? (using the get together dancefloors and full length windows) I think it will look extremely modern and cool ! 😀😀
Yup...I was fortunately aware of all the cheats covered, including the one briefly hinted at...the hidden objects one. However, the one I use the most frequently, would have to be the move objects cheat. I really love that cheat!
one thing i suggest when building houses from scratch is putting down the furniture first, then making it a room and adding a floor/wall design to it , making the two floors, then putting them together and adding outside stuff, i've made an extremely nice house before with this method and use the layout in all my play-throughs
Thanks so much the roofing part really helped because i was having a lot of trouble in roofing. The diagonal tiles also really helped, so again thanks 😊
You wouldn't believe how bad I've wanted to be able to put soap or paper towels near my sink or utensils near my oven but I've never ventured out from regular basic cheats idk why because now my decor is gonna be next level. This was the best tutorial. I'm not a beginning tho I'm a sims veteran. Played 2 through my childhood mostly, I didn't care for 1 because I as really young when it came out but my brothers dad played it and it's the only thing we ever had in common. 3 came out when I was like 12 and 4 was a bummer and still is slightly. I've noticed a few things wrong with the original base game like multiple items that are similar or identical in cas like 2 formal dresses are exact duplicates and I have no idea why. I think it's because 4 was leaked and rumored earlier than the initial release date and maxis was pressured to release the game without trimming the bugs. The original was supposed to have curved walls as well but the concept was dropped apparently. Along with the lack of variety for babies and toddlers. We've been screaming for customization of baby outfirs and more choices in clothes and hair style. It's hard have a big family on the game because there's not enough variety.

This really is so good and useful thank you so much for making it
For Danish users, if you want to scale an object up, use the Å key :)
I WAS LOOKING FOR THIS OMG TYSM!
I was looking how to make the furniture move freely!
Nobody :
You : I do have a separate tutorial
Cringee
SimmingWith Socky nobody said it was random 😂😂
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! For providing captions! Really appreciate it.
wow, i already knew i suck but this made me realize just how much. i've been playing mainly the sims 2 for like ten years, never really learned how to build on sims 3 and now i'm paying for it because building on 4 is so different from building on 2... i never even learned how to do roofs in sims 2 because it has the automatic roof thing that has always worked well enough for me and i was so shocked when i noticed 4 didn't have that. so i've only been doing flat roofs but this video made me realize i'm doing that wrong too, i haven't actually done anything to the roofs so my flat roofs are actually just floor lol. i thank the sim gods for the pre-built rooms every single time i play because without them i would never get any actual playing done because i would never ever finish a house
Wow, this video was incredible! I definitely feel way less scared trying to build a house.. Haha.
Hey man, thanks for the vid :D
Do you think you can do a tutorial on interior design?
that shift key and the roof just made me so happy omg
i didn't know that existed and it's so cool thank you
These are the best tricks I've ever seen. I haven't seen such on my country's language. So I happy to find your cheats :)
Can you do a housebuild where all the walls/ceilings/floors are glass ? (using the get together dancefloors and full length windows) I think it will look extremely modern and cool ! 😀😀
Simply Sims No he built a mirror cube
On my GERMAN keyboard, you can use Strg & ´ to make objects bigger :)
James build a house in the secret area where willow creek is and by building on it do the free build cheat hope you see this 😄😄

Jacob Fraser Where is the secret place?
Zoey Davis in willow creek
Which one?
Sylvan Glades?
Yup...I was fortunately aware of all the cheats covered, including the one briefly hinted at...the hidden objects one. However, the one I use the most frequently, would have to be the move objects cheat. I really love that cheat!
Only on tip 1 and I'm already in debt to you, sir. You're a god amongst men!
James! Here's an idea, you should remake houses from the sims , sims 2 or the sims 3 in the sims 4!
thanks for showing me the roof in the thumbnail, i couldn't find it
On scandinavian keyboards it's the Å key that scales up items.
one thing i suggest when building houses from scratch is putting down the furniture first, then making it a room and adding a floor/wall design to it , making the two floors, then putting them together and adding outside stuff, i've made an extremely nice house before with this method and use the layout in all my play-throughs
Thanks so much the roofing part really helped because i was having a lot of trouble in roofing. The diagonal tiles also really helped, so again thanks 😊
without number pad press "fn" then "+/-"

What is it to scale down?
I recently got the sims 4 game and this was very helpful 👍🏼
For ps4 scaling objects, press L2 & R2 and press the right arrow key for it to be bigger and left for smaller. To rise objects, it's L2 & R2 and press the up arrow key to rise up and down arrow key to put down
For English keyboards, (qwerty) press shift] to scale up, shift[ to scale down.
thx
I cant scale down :(
@@redmixiaomi5992 To scale down I use the - key. Either press shift, ctrl or alt(can't remember which one) whilst simultaneously pressing - . I hope this works for you!
