- The Unexpected Family She is the Founder of Denied, an NGO focussed on educating children from underprivileged backgrounds. She started her own NGO when she was 16 years old. Vanika worked with over 5,000 kids, 25 NGOs, and also, helped in initiating 15 student-led organizations. She is a BMM student from Jai Hind College (Mumbai). She’e of the key performers at Tape-A- Tale. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

you told everything I have always wanted to do, I have loved teaching kids and the slum kids too when one day my maid's children came to my home and I felt the urge to teach them but I couldn't continue it for days because of my family. I'm happy that you did. I love that about you, in fact I love everything about you Vanika because you do the things I have always wanted to do, from teaching the kids to opening an NGO to performing with such confidence on stage to living in Mumbai to fighting with your family for making them understand why do you want to live in mumbai to living in himachal pradesh and exploring the people and places.

Listening to your poems, I thought, you must have got a lot of friends. In fact, till the time you explicitly mentioned that you didn't have a college life, I was so sure that you must have been a star in your college; VP of committee, NGO founder, teaching children and what not.
I came here after seeing ur insta story n I really don't know mai kin kin baato ke baare me baat karu... everything has a different level of impact on me...n I can connect with so many moments n I feel I m still there in that moment n will be there.

Hi Vanika, after listening this i literally felt so bad on my assumptions i made for you as i come from the same Enactus team for which you were appointed as the vice president the very next year. And being seniors our batch literally got offended that we did all humari side se bunked lectures, no clubs no e-cell and bla bla registration because we were enough with Enactus. And after that you are a member no upgradation (just because i am not a good speaker as you) i felt so so bad that all my initiatives all my excitement was crushed and dumped in side corner basket. But after leaving Enactus i volunteered at Kutumba and that was when i realised it was not the anger of getting promotion ya baki kuch it was the anger of aur project that worked on "nazif" with the mumbai central and mahim slum got shut.
