UL plays nobody, notre dame was their only legit team and Duke doesn't count because they don't play anybody either. Kentucky played five ranked teams four of which ended in the top 10. I don't know when people are going to realize that the middle of the pack SEC teams be taking out top teams in other conferences.. They be having some down and dirty grid iron football in the south, it's a different league..
Cone on, guys. Louisville played to easiest schedule I've ever seen. They should be undefeated coming into the Kentucky game. Kentucky won. Kentucky would be on top of the ACC year in and out.
I mean, it is possible that if they beat Florida State crowning their ACC championship in Charlotte on Saturday night when the confetti flies when the fireworks go off, then maybe. The problem is they lost to Pitt but you also have to consider the other conference champions if they are undefeated plus Louisville was nine the last time I saw it but chaos would have to happen in the other conference championship games, I mean, could Louisville make the college football playoff? I mean yes it is possible that they might have an outside chance if they win against Florida State in Charlotte and the other conference champions lose who are ranked in front of them, but again, all of that would have to happen. Then maybe they would have an outside chance but again, they lost to Pitt. If all that happens, if Louisville could go in the ACC championship in Charlotte pull the upset against the expected champion Florida State, who would already be in the playoff and the other teams from the other conferences, who are ranked in front of them lose then Louisville might but again what about that one Pitt loss earlier in the season that’s the factor you would have to consider. I mean that all could be possible yes but the most likely scenario in that would be they would probably go to either the fiesta bowl or the cotton bowl. But if Florida State wins, and the other teams who are in front of them win who are playoff teams, or are fiesta and Cotton Bowl teams win then they are in the playoff and the fiesta or cotton bowl then Florida State is already in the playoff Louisville would then go to the Orange bowl. But then the third best ACC team if Louisville happens to be a cotton bowl team or a fiesta bowl team with other teams from other conferences losing who are ranked, Florida State and Louisville could be in either the fiesta or cotton or they could both be in either but then no team would go to the playoff from the ACC but then the second best team outside of both of them would be in the orange bowl who didn’t go to the ACC championship. I think this is the logistic way of thinking about it.
I’m gonna disagree with some points.. 1. Louisville’s defense has probably played their worst against Miami the last 2 weeks 2. As far as the playoff race goes, Louisville’s loss to a 3-8 Pitt team and the #74 strength of schedule holds them back 3. Leary might be the 2nd best QB Louisville has seen this year, so has Louisville been playing many good QBs? It’s not saying Leary is good…but it’s more about the ACC caliber of QBs Louisville wins close, but it’s more about Kentucky not being that good rather than Louisville being that well
Louisville 42 Kentucky 28
