Luke, I have that tent and set it up just before 2 days of heavy rain and wind. Did not leak at all. Not a drop. Cannot wait to see your review brother
I've used this now for about 2 years and I love it. In strong wind it does have a tendency to have the side walls bend in, but that is going to be an issue with pretty much every lightweight tent. Never leaked, deals well with condensation, insanely quick to set up, huge headroom inside for the weight, no issues with structure - even the pegs included are good quality. I picked it up for $200 Australian dollars when I got it which is just unbelievable price for the quality
As a first time camper, I bought this tent in the pink color. Very easy to set up and it didn’t leak after a rainstorm. Very spacious for two people. I had no regrets or problems with this tent. I did spray the tent with bug spray and had no issues. Can’t nor recommend enough! A must buy for any glamper like myself.
I'm a solo camper. I bought a Naturehike Hanger 2 Tent(White) and additional Gear Shed because I worried about theft when I sleeping at night and away from tent. I have this tent as well, love it for a budget tent, paid $120 for mine 4 years ago. Thanks for starting a review on it, can't wait to see final thoughts. 👍
I like the poles on this tent it looks like they connect well and r easy to get into place the colors pretty cool too definitely sets ya apart from the rest of the herd
I've got a nice muted blue version in 15D silnylon. Weighs just over 1.5kg. Tested it in heavy rain, snow and hail not a drop of water got inside. Great tent for the price.
My hiking buddy used this tent on our two weeks hike in the Norwegian wilderness last year. Lucky for me, the white option🤣. It performed good. However, long term use will tell more about the quilty. We got a forthcoming video series from this pretty awsome hike.
Looks exactly like the hyke n byke Zion 2. Same poles, vents, materials, etc. So if that's the case, get ready for a wonderful river of condensation!! One cool thing about this tent is you can buy a add on attachment that gives it a giant porch. Great for cooking and for wet dogs to sleep haha! Don't see that very often. I've waited to check this out before I commented on this design flaw on the cross-member pole. Once the cross-member pole has been attached to the grommets and before the rain fly has been put on, I find that the end of the cross-member only has the bare metal pushing against the fly material creating a wear point on this reenforced portion of the tent. It would have been great if Nature hike would have attached a hard rubber cap which could be pushed onto the ends of this crossover pole to prevent damage to the tent especially when all staked out. In the wind this cross-member moves and can after a bit wear a hole in the tent at this area, metal on fabric.
Great tent, have one for about 2y now. More than enough room for 1, 2 also works when you dont mind being close... :-) never had issues with waterproofness or anything. Probably my most used tent at the moment.
Hey ! I bought it last year and the guide lines are (or were) adjustable. And the clips or not right and left hooks but only one side hook. There is also a net for the top of the inside of the mostiquo net / the body of the tent. Very usefull to hang out things during the night. I bought it directly from the Aliexpress NatureHike shop, that may be the cause of the variable accessories. Great video !
As a "newbie", this tent seems to be pretty straightforward with no real challenges.....I Hope. Want to see your "test night" results. Thanks for the video!
Don't be discouraged everyone starts out the same awesome tent cool color roomy and fast set up plus you can get a vestibule adds tons of space for your wet gear or dogs or even a small fold table to set up your small jetboil cup or similar small stove set ups keeps mud out of your tent if it's raining much
I've had this tent in this color for more than 2 years and I love it! Granted, the color is not for everybody. I wanted something different and I think purple is great. Everything in the tent looks pink in the morning though 😁 That's the tent I plan to have with me when I hike the west highland way in Scotland later this fall or next spring.
Where was this lol i just got mine new from amazing on a prime sale for 135 and the vestibule for 71.99 same sale lol nice shade tarp too was it the purple 👾 that's what I got so i saved like 45 usd give or take before taxes on the two. Saw this cool roll up low table fits perfect in the vestibule so as to not leave my backpack on the ground if it's wet fits right in there hight adjustable. Even for a small stove set up
I have this tent. Ive used it in heavy snow, storm winds and in heavy rain. 10/10. Not a single fault with this tent. Cant recommend this tent enough, and the weight + price combined with quality is a winner. I wanna urge Luke to review the 3F UL Qingkong 4-person tent next. Its the natural step up in size from the Mongar, and is lightweight + budget friendly. Edit: The Mongar 2 is a copy of the MSR Hubba Hubba NX. The 3F UL Qingkong 4 is a copy of the MSR Papa Hubba 4.

That Mongar is an MSR clone (which isn’t a bad thing). I own a 3FUL version. AliExpress again. It’s identical other than adjustable stake points and different guy line attachments I think it’s a great thing that Luke is testing the gear from AliExpress. It’s I feel a good budget option for a lot of people. Hope he’ll be testing the Lanshan 1 soon. .
i was just looking through the comments to see if anyone else noticed this. I wasn't sure at first but when I saw those red clips I thought they looked so familiar.
So i just got this tent. And after watching your reviews on the Litefighter and how it can be converted to a 4 season. It got me to thinking and researching this tent. I found on Allie express a 4 season inner that fits this tent, and ordered it. So now i have a 3&4 season Mongar 2..
Looks simple enough, but when I saw you literally tying the fly to the poles I thought, "You've got to be kidding me!". Every other tent I have has velcro tabs for securing the fly to the poles. But, those are also fairly high end tents, so I can see it for a budget friendly tent that isn't really known for bells and whistles.
Hm clips are the most used way for connect the fly to the poles. Even at Hillebergs and other very high priced tents. Never saw velcro. And as 99% of these kinds of tents pitch up fly first is a nogo in rainy areas like mid Europe
@@DieTabbi Well, all of my Big Agnes, Sierra Design, and Eureka, tents have velcro tabs that you use to attach the fly to the poles. Not sure how you'd attach something that drapes over the poles via clips. Are you sure you aren't mixing up the body with the fly?
@@DonP_is_lostagain nope my naturehike, my old Eureka, and the expensives Hillebergs, Salewa and Co, all have clips to attach the poles with the fly. even my most inexpensives one have clips. Never saw velcro for that. Sometime elastic band with a "knob" (sorry not native english) You can watch NatureHike vs Hilleberg Solo, there you see it. Or do you mean the tip of the poles? They fit into a metal ring. Maybe there are more system then we know
@@DieTabbi OK, it seems we're at odds on what's being described. With the Hilleberg and that style tent, the fly is under the poles. You attach the inner body to the fly. In the case of the tent reviewed, and other tents sold here in the US, the fly drapes OVER the poles. It's the INNER that attaches via clips like shown in this video. With the tents that drape a fly over the poles, they typically use a small velcro tab set to attach the fly to the poles. In the tent in this video, they're using small fabric ties instead of velcro ties. That's what I was commenting on.
Luke, if you have Naturehikes ear, it would be really cool if they made the tent bag, a dry bag. That would be very helpful for Motorcycle and Kayak camping. Even as an optional upgrade.
I just received mine today- was a little tricky for me the first set-up but I didn’t see any directions til I was putting it away afterwards and I’m not an experienced tent person. I’m sure the next time I set up it’ll be much easier. I will also practice putting it up fly before inner as some have done in case of bad weather when I’m out on trail. I want to be proficient with it at home before I use it while backpacking. I did get the heavier 210T bcs the colors for 20d are just awful. I got dark green for more stealth option. It’s a lovely tent and quite roomy. I look forward to using it. I have seen quite a few reviews and it seems to do very well in higher winds and rain plus the high mesh will be good for hot summers. I was thinking of how I could add another layer for winter camping so I don’t have to get another tent just yet. All this gear gets too expensive for someone like me. So if anyone has suggestions on how to temporarily winterize this, they would be appreciated.
I have this tent and experienced some awfully strong winds last weekend. The "Y" intersection of the poles on one side got folded due to the strong gust of wind and I wasn't able to put some guylines. After the wind and rain got weaker I attached the guylines and it became more stable.
I at least appreciate when the snapping body portions are attached to straps with loops as opposed to being sewn directly in. That way, if one breaks, you can substitute a carabiner and keep using the tent.
Be interested to see how it goes, I got the Cloud Up 2 model from the same company and its been amazing. Only issue for mine has been you need to pitch the tent so the flat face isn't directly in the path of the wind. But rain, condesation etc has been good. Hope to go snow camping at some stage (which is harder than it looks in Australia not many places lol) When you do the test I would love for you to have a good look at the bathtab, and strength if you can, as my kids get older, son is 9, daughter is 6, they have been wanting their own spaces when we go caravan park camping, so was thinking of getting small tents just for them, and my daughter loves purple, just worried how it would hold up. My Cloud Up 2 does need to be treated gentle.
I have the Mongar 3 and my wife and I love it. Its perfect for 2 people with a Lab and gear. The vestibules could be a bit bigger but the tent itself is awesome. The Mongar 3 also has adjustable tie-outs that the Mongar 2 does not. The Mongar 2 comes with better stakes though. I find the rain fly setup is a bit better in the Mongar 3 as well. ...maybe a comparison review on the Mongar 2+3 Luke??
Oh, I didn't know about the Mongar 3, will check it out! I'm currently debating whether to get the Mongar 2 or the Cloud Up 3... will need to consider the Mongar 3 as well now. My dilemma is that sometimes it will just be me, in which case the Cloud Up 3 will be too big, but sometimes it will be my girlfriend and our toddler as well, and I'm worried the Mongar 2 will be too small. I do like the Mongar though. (EDIT: quite tricky to track down the Mongar 3. I've only found it on Naturehike's website so far, in pink colour only. Not on Amazon, AliExpress etc. Where did you get it and what colour please? Thanks)
@@willek1335 In the end I got the Cloud Up 3 and I'm glad I did. I love the look of the Mongar 2 but it definitely wouldn't have been big enough for 3 of us (based on what I've seen). I think if you don't mind a tight fit and are really keen to minimise weight, go for the 2. If you don't mind an extra 0.5kg or whatever it is, and want a bit more room to spread out, go 3.
@@ps3855 CP2 has ‘almost’ as much space. Maybe a little less headroom but overall about the same capacity but I’d say the vestibules are bigger. It sets up abs packs done a lot easier and quicker and is designed for the inner and fly to be left attached (comes like that out of the factory). You ‘can’ pitch the mongar inner first but it’s a faff. The pole design on the mongar has a few weak points including the Y joints that are under a lot of strain and the swivel bracket thing for the top cross bar. The CP2 just has 3 simple poles. The CP2 is totally free standing. You don’t need to peg anything to erect it and can move it around to get your positioning just right or move it during the night if you realise you’re about to be flooded. In fact you don’t need to bother with the guy ropes at all unless you’re expecting strong wind. The mongar needs the guy ropes even in zero wind to keep its shape, and in general it’s a bit more of a flappy tent. In addition, the gap between the fly and the ground is bigger with the mongar and the inner is 100% mesh right down to the bathtub so it’s a nicely ventilated but very cold tent and even light wind blows right through it. The CP2 is hardly 4 season but keeps the wind out much better. There’s just no real logical reason to pick the mongar over the CP2 other than styling (if you prefer it) and bragging rights that you have a hubba hubba copy.
Saw a lot of comments about the colours here, and thought I’d add a differing opinion here. From a business perspective, China is a lot stronger on the party and glamping culture than “proper” camping in the wilderness. So it’s just the brand’s way of catering to the market demand. And it’s a HUGE market there lol.
I have the Naturehike Vik 1 . It’s 2 pounds / 1kg single wall freestanding tent . Had it in Norway several Times always kept me dry . Thus condensation in damp weather will always occur . Mongar is too heavy for me over 3pounds but the Tent is a super low budget option if you need a Tent for a Trip and don’t want to spend hundreds . This mongar is under 150eu . Even if it gets stolen idgaf 🤷🏻♂️😂
Also have Vik1. Good quality and light for price but condensation can be sometimes be bad. For me condensation stayed on fabric, no dripping. I think Luke have the Vik2. But no review yet.
I have to say your reviews are some of my favorites-- very thorough and I love that you don't limit yourself to just the most expensive or the REI catalog. Right now I am looking at getting some tents for Boy Scout Troop to do some backpacking so cost is an important factor as is ruggedness so I am not thinking ultralight. When it comes to 20D vs 210T what would you recommend? Also thinking about other tents beyond naturehike, I have seen a mountainsmith celestial at a good price and of course there is the Kelty options-- also I saw sierra designs tabernash, stoick madrone , and marmot catalyst. I only have experience with a marmot and that tent held up great for me. In terms of cost and durability who do you recommend---Kind of hoping to stay in the 100-150 dollar range
Hi Luke. I'm going to have to critique your difficulty scaling a little bit. 😅 I'd say almost any tent is extremely easy to setup in mild, sunny weather with no other distractions. Would I want a tent with an inner tent pitch first when it's raining? Nope. Do I want to mess with small velcro tabs or tie small strings to the poles when it's cold, about to rain or even windy? Nope. Add exhaustion from hiking all day and all those factors make the tent a much bigger chore to setup. If this tent is an 8-9 with plenty of steps requiring to pitch it properly, expose the inner tent to rain and requiring fine finger dexterity, then what would a Hilleberg Niak be in comparison, when all you need is to slide 2 poles into sleeves, add 2 stakes and the tent is fully pitched with the inner tent never being exposed to the elements? Heck, a Tarptent Moment DW requires just one pole and 2 stakes. I think your scaling should take bad weather into account, because that's where a tent's ease of setup is truly tested.
Looks like a Big Agnes Tiger Wall or the Marmot Super Alloy. Naturehike tents are really good quality for the money. Way better than Coleman, crap sold at Bass Pro Shop or the Target Sierra Designs stuff.
I'm really looking forward to your review of this tent. I hope it does well because, I really want to own this tent if it's worth it. But in the color gray.
I really wished Luke would review the LanShan 1 Pro as it is one of lightest budget solo tents for long distance hikers. 690g isn't the lightest but for the price it's not bad. I'm torn between LanShan and Gossamer Gear's The One tent. That would be twice as expensive though and it's out of stock everywhere. Not going to order the Lanshan just yet because it's Singles Day and Black Friday and the prices have been jacked up 35% on Aliexpress. Going to wait for the "sales" to be over.
Have you ever done a review on the Geertop backpacking tent for 2 person, 4 seasons camping tent double layer waterproof for outdoors hunting, hiking, climbing, travel. It says easy set up. Be nice to see if it’s worth the money. I truly hate wet tents from condensation and leaky seams or floor.

What's the weight of it Nicolas? I love the colour! Not that I need another tent though...
@@musingwithreba9667 it's around 2.1kg if you take the groundsheet and all the stuff bags. It's around 1.9kg without them.
@@belgasox not exactly ultra-light then😉 good for car camping tho!
@@musingwithreba9667 splitting 4lbs between 2 people for backpacking isn't bad....
@@katherinehellstrom1952 very true. 90+% of the time tho, I'm solo
And Purple Rain is a pretty damn cool song to jam to when camping with this tent. 🤣🤣🤣👍
In the morning if the weather is right, you wake up to a Purple Haze
@@EveryDayCharlie nothing is better than purple rain. sorry jimi.
I just bought this tent based off of this review. I think it will do great for my 16 year olds first tent.
I know this is an old video, but I just picked this tent up for $103.28. I am excited to see how well it performs.
Even for a small stove set up
We just bought this tent for my wife, be taking it out this next weekend on a short overnighter.
As long as you get to sleep in the tan one.
Very simple. Luke purple, but mostly waiting for test night.
Love it the purple color is actually pretty badass
Nature Hike is a pretty decent, budget friendly, gear company. I think it would be a good entry point for many folks.
Purple. to blend in to the purple mountains majesty.
Prince fans would love this tent.
Did it require any seem sealing?
@@janis6321 nope
LOOKS NICE LUKE 👌 CAN'T WAIT TO SEE WHAT YOU THINK OF IT . THANK YOU FOR SHOWING US HOW TO SET IT UP . LOOKS LIKE YOU MIGHT HAVE TO TWEEK IT IN SOME PLACES . BE SAFE ! HAVE FUN ! GOD BLESS YOU ALWAYS 🙏 ON YOUR JOURNEYS ! ENJOYED 🍨 🍨 🍨 🍨 🍨
Simple. Very similar to my old Eureka Apex 2XT. THAT was a fantastic tent, with really only one minor flaw, imo.
I never meant to cause you any troll comments
I never meant to leak you any rain
I only wanted to one time to see you camping

That Mongar is an MSR clone (which isn’t a bad thing).
I own a 3FUL version. AliExpress again.
It’s identical other than adjustable stake points and different guy line attachments
I think it’s a great thing that Luke is testing the gear from AliExpress.
It’s I feel a good budget option for a lot of people.
Hope he’ll be testing the Lanshan 1 soon. .
i was just looking through the comments to see if anyone else noticed this. I wasn't sure at first but when I saw those red clips I thought they looked so familiar.
My favorite color. It does say hey look im over here lol. Thanks Luke for review.
The top cross pole goes over the bar not under (just like MSR Hubba Hubba that this is a clone of). More stable in high winds.
That thing is PURPLE !!!!
The color is dope! Purple Rain
I'd love to have this party tent on the next outdoor rock concert with "Deep Purple"
So i just got this tent. And after watching your reviews on the Litefighter and how it can be converted to a 4 season. It got me to thinking and researching this tent. I found on Allie express a 4 season inner that fits this tent, and ordered it. So now i have a 3&4 season Mongar 2..
Can you provide a link or the ID number for that one? Thanks
Good morning brother and thank you for your thoughts and adventures brother and your wife
well i just love the colour ....strenght and honour
I do like how easy this tent is to set up. I'd definitely select a green or tan color though! LOL
I kinda want one of the green versions of this tent the more I see of it on your channel.
I’ve got this tent (in grey) really enjoyed it and for the price I can’t find one to beat
Looks like a slamdunk to set up. I think the color is kinda cool. Great con'tent' as always, thanks.
Almost replica of Zion 2, which so far is a quality (altho a lil heavy) tent. Gr8 for canoe tripping, or truck camping.
Not about tying knots to secure the fly to the poles. But you do get the fly cinched up against the poles though
I have this tent and experienced some awfully strong winds last weekend.
The "Y" intersection of the poles on one side got folded due to the strong gust of wind and I wasn't able to put some guylines.
After the wind and rain got weaker I attached the guylines and it became more stable.
Thanks for review. I`ve bought same one but in white. It is extremely nice.
Hope to go snow camping at some stage (which is harder than it looks in Australia not many places lol)
When you do the test I would love for you to have a good look at the bathtab, and strength if you can, as my kids get older, son is 9, daughter is 6, they have been wanting their own spaces when we go caravan park camping, so was thinking of getting small tents just for them, and my daughter loves purple, just worried how it would hold up. My Cloud Up 2 does need to be treated gentle.
Like the purple and the set up was very smooth
Thanks)
@@saccerzd I'm at the same cross road. No toddler, just a couple. Young, athletic build. Would you go 2 or 3?
@@willek1335 In the end I got the Cloud Up 3 and I'm glad I did. I love the look of the Mongar 2 but it definitely wouldn't have been big enough for 3 of us (based on what I've seen). I think if you don't mind a tight fit and are really keen to minimise weight, go for the 2. If you don't mind an extra 0.5kg or whatever it is, and want a bit more room to spread out, go 3.
@ZD Facinating points. I just ordered my tent. It seems to me the practical weight difference, of both tents are merely ~100 grams apart.
@@willek1335 what did you buy in the end?
My eyes!!! 🤣 Who thought a purple tent was a good idea?
I think it looks good in purple
@@theodorefarnsworth8509 me too, I bought this tent in purple a month ago. Great tent
Not everybody wants to run off and hide.
I am all about the earthy colours, but it looks awesome in purple.
I showed this to my wife and now she has to have it.
Having had this and now the cloud peak 2, other than the Mongar shape looking cool, there’s no way I’d pick one over the CP2
Because?
I bet Susan wood love that tent because it's purple
Well no problem finding that tent out in the woods
Thanks friend...good video....freedom for all people..
Well that color ya dont have to worry walkin away and not finding your spot again lol
That is one purple tent, WOW
I need this for a long trip
One thing the Hilleberg would be, is a heck of a lot more expensive...
Looks like a Big Agnes Tiger Wall or the Marmot Super Alloy.
Naturehike tents are really good quality for the money. Way better than Coleman, crap sold at Bass Pro Shop or the Target Sierra Designs stuff.
I was thinking if getting the companion pro hiker 2 tent but this is quite nice also
Never keen on tents where you need to set the inner fly first. Looks alright though.
Looks decent. Only real question now is whether it is waterproof.
That tent is fly!
It amazes me that none of the naturehike tents you have tested are anything like mine. I guess they have a wide selection.
Setup looks easy, now wait for the rain.
Thanks Luke. I appreciate your videos.
It would blend in nice in a field of lupines maybe.
Very informative. Thank you.
I'm really looking forward to your review of this tent. I hope it does well because, I really want to own this tent if it's worth it. But in the color gray.
Sweet! I love that color!💪😎
I have the three person coming in tomorrow
Doubt it will replace my zpacks, but I need more tents for the troops.
Chiếc lều chiến binh, thật tuyệt vời, cảm ơn người anh em 😮
What do You think about sewing pieces of veccro to those fly tie up points. Could such a modification be worth effort?
Purple passion!
