  • This is our video on the August Smart Lock Pro + Connect Wifi Bridge, which we think is the best smart lock out there overall
    (...although there may be ones better for you depending on your situation).
    You can get the newer version of the wifi smart lock from August (august.com/products/august-wi...) or Amazon (amzn.to/2WOgouZ - Affiliate link)

    Hey there! How is the battery life on there? And also, has there ever been a false alarm? where like the app says the door is closed, but it’s actually opened? Thanks!

      Battery life is great. I can only recall changing them once in the few years we’ve had it but that might be better than should be expected on average. I believe you also get a notification when battery is low or dead.
      Have never had a false alarm on door or lock being open or closed, but false signals or other inaccuracies can depend on how well you calibrate for both and how stable things are (eg one door used to rock a lot, so that could cause false alarms although in our case did not)

    Can you set it up so that whenever you walk up to it it unlocks? Ie- not just one time when you come home from being outside the 200m zone but if you were going to go out to your car and then come back in and then go out again to your car and then come back in? Thanks!

      Not directly through the august app as far as we can tell.
      There may be a way to do this using advanced integrations like IFFFT, HomeKit automation routines, or Apple shortcuts automations, but nothing we can suggest/recommend at this time.

      @@TechCouch Doesn't it automatically unlock as long as your phone is on you? Like via bluetooth? I saw in your review video that it has auto lock/unlock. ??

      There is an auto unlock feature, but we have not really used or tested it much.
      This is the info page at the setup for auto unlock in the app, and has better info than we could give: support.august.com/auto-unlock-for-ios-BkKgyDUkC_M

    Is there a way to access remotely to change access codes and let in different guests without paying for wifi in that location?

    • @TechCouch
      @TechCouch  ปีที่แล้ว

      We don’t know of any way to access remotely without Wi-Fi…maybe you can share some else’s Wi-Fi who is close by, otherwise would need to come close enough for Bluetooth to work
