I never heard the author clarify what "high mileage" is. Toyota high mileage starts at 600k, ford high mileage is 90k.

lol there's no such thing as "high mileage" on the 2022 Tundra's- the new trucks are literally breaking down with only hundreds of miles on them.. Way to go Toyota reliability!!!

My 2013 tundra has been one thing after another last couple months. I’m here trying to figure out my latest grinding sound issue. Wheel bearings I guess. Just had to replace power steering pump, blower motor, wiper motor, now bearings all in a 2 month span. My old F150 made it to 270,000 without any of these little problems. It’s like there’s a shelf life on all these parts. I definitely love my tundra but the ford was as dependable as it gets. 20-30,000 miles a year trailer in tow. Never had parts failing left and right like this. Must’ve gotten me a lemon tundra.

My 07 has 283k, runs great! I do all the maintenance. 3k oil/ filter, 30k diffs, 60k tranny and nothing is cracked, broken. I use it to haul a 35ft TT, wood, deer, kids and two track more than drive highways. Best 34k I have ever spent.....It's a rock solid beast!!!!!

i've had a used 07 with about 170k on it for 4-ish years, absolutely no big problems. these trucks are built to be reliable and they are.

One thing you missed is the Secondary Air Injection, which we all know is responsible for warming the cats faster on cold starts. With this issue, the check engine light comes on usually with other 4lo, VSC off, slip indicator and truck enters limp mode. Mine was replaced under warranty but it could possibly reoccur.

The 07-08s had a know issue that there was a TSB for regarding a bushing in the 4wd transfer case that caused a roaring noise on deceleration around 20-30 MPH. The fix is to change the transfer case which needless to say is a very expensive repair. I believe it was fixed in the 09+ models.

Whats considered high mileage on a tundra? So many are over 500k lol. I've got 192k on my 07. Ive just done normal recommended maintenance according to tundra and milage of the truck so its in pretty good shape and no rust.

I have a 2008 tundra trd I love it almost 200k and no problems no leaks and it's not rusted. I got lucky knock on wood...... what should I be worried about? The people that had it before have a binder of all work preformed and just regular service nothing serious. Bought it with 180k because of the binder and records. It is well maintained. Any suggestions would be helpful

Shout out to you guys - these are fantastic videos! The tundra fuel pump vid helped me breeze through the job quickly over a lunch break.
Can u guys do a video on the valve cover gasket replacement for the Tundra? I seem to have that oil leak issue mentioned here (plug seal too) and there’s a lot of *stuff* in the way of these covers and would appreciate your take on the job.

Thank You for sharing all of the 1AAuto videos. I always seem to learn something helpful with each vídeo i watch. I have a high milage (200k+) 2010 Toyota Tundra 4x4 with a scrathing/scraping/squealing type of noise that only seems present at higher speeds (60+ mph generally). I've found researching so far that it may have something to do with the transfer case. Your thoughts, or any other Tundra owner's best guess..???..Thanks for your help in advance !!!

After troubleshooting my girlfriends truck it seems like these trucks have issues with the rear bearings within the axel assembly along with the backplate if the truck is used to towing/working. One heck of job to do and the issue seems pretty prevalent on " hard working" Tundras.

Thanks for all of the advice. Recently my 2007 4WD 5.7 Tundra leaked out gear oil from the front differential, what is the most common culprit? I live on Long Island and I have frame rust issues. My rear differential started rotting at the top where the cover is welded on, I blasted it all off and repaired it and used anti-rust paint and it looks great now. Any advice would be great, I really need this truck to last me, it just turned 118,000 miles.

2008 Toyota Tundra Double cab bought new with 16 miles on it. Replaced fuel pump, replaced original starter at 266K, Still has original front rotors ( need to be replaced soon) .
Now has 268K miles and I'm installing 2nd set of spark plugs , needs new shocks , drives great.
No engine problems ever (original), never garaged. If give it a jack rabbit start it does slams into first gear( shift solenoid issue) if i go more slowly it doesn't happen.(original sealed tranny)
Any suggestions? It does shift fine otherwise.CD player has a stuck cd in it ,radio works, no leak at all. Yes I'm the original owner. When I get some extra cash I'm buying a new Tundra, they need to make a V8 not turbo 6 as an option.
Yes I'm the original and only owner.

I just bought a 2013 Sequoia, basically a decked out SUV version of the Tundra. I bought it with 114k miles on her and she was serviced at the same Toyota dealership all of it's life. It's a TRD limited model so it has some rather cool features that make owning this bad boy a dream but as one could guess it love fuel. But I think it would need to drink a lot of fuel to make up for the savings compared to a new truck. That said I do have a few gripes about it. Like no front lights light up when I unlock it at night. Coming from a minivan we got spoiled so this one really bothers me. Anyone know how to fix this? The headlights look too fantastic to change out right now although I am tempted by the artics brand. That strobing turn signals look killer. Anyway thanks in advance for any help.

    08 Crew 5.7L 180k mi.
Owned since 130k mi with no (noticeable) after market mods.
    - After driving, if turned off and key left in ignition for @ 5 min, will crank but no start for a few minutes. Then will crank and “try” to run for another minute, then starts and runs normal. If key is removed after stop, no issue.
    - all display lights stay on at startup and not turn off. Runs and drives normal. Immediate cycling off/start has no impact. The next startup, back to normal.
    - Cruise Control stopped working. Fuse good but no CC light or function.
    - Recirculate Air button light/function works when “it” wants to. Regardless of temp dial position.
    - Will be on Hwy at 55+ and suddenly notice “4Lo” indicator light on with switch in 2WD.
Wondering if I should reset the ECM but worry it may not reboot. Any thoughts?
    Thanks!

I have a 2015 Tundra and around 50 k miles the power steering o ring on the arm started leaking and the Toyota dealer replaced entire ps unit then almost a year later same thing started happening on the opposite side so again full ps unit change , all of that repair fell under the warranty so not any cost just time without the truck now that I’m out of the warranty period I’m crossing my fingers that it doesn’t happen again, anyone else have that problem?

I have a crank no start issue.. it always happens after filing but even if I haven’t just filled up it will crank but won’t start randomly. Also normally what I do is crank it once it will go shew shew shew no start then take the key out and try it again and it will start pretty consistently I have replaced the battery starter and had my mechanic do a thorough check. He feels it’s the after market key that I have but I don’t think so…. I would really appreciate your thoughts.

Just bought 2007 tundra with 243k on the dash for $2500. A client of mine was moving and couldn’t take it with him, so great deal I feel over all. Took it to dealer to do a complete check up, only thing they said it needed was secondary air pumps and shutting valves. From all the stuff I seen online, does not seem like a major problem, dealers wants to charge 2500 to fix it. My question to everyone here is, would you take this truck on 6 hour one way road trip? Never had high Milage car before so I’m just wondering.

Secondary air injection valve was common with the 4.7
My first Tundra was a 07 4.7 and I got the CEL code at 40k miles. I was going to tackle it myself and Toyota stepped in and covered it under warranty even though I bought the truck used without warranty. There was a TSB on it but I’m sure that has now expired.
I’d tackle it yourself. It’s not terrible to do, Just take your time.
I just bought my 3rd Tundra, Hope you enjoy yours!

Hello hey I have a 2007 tundra (4.7l) with about 210000 miles on it. It’s been a great truck. Recently I have had some issues with speedometer. I was cruising about 55mph when speedometer needle started bouncing around, also the dash lights lit up like a Xmas tree. This went on a few seconds maybe 5 sec then went back to normal. Engine seemed to run ok maintaining speed. Cruise control was not on. This has happened a few times the last 6 months or so. What do you think may be wrong with my truck?

I just bought a 2006 Toyota limited 4.7, 8 cylinder 2wd from Wyatt Johnson for 10,000$ about 6 months ago from their used department. Basically the truck needed to be completely rebuilt it had sooooo MANY issues. They insured me and my wife the truck was ready to go and was in great condition. They also knew we were looking for a work truck to add to our lawn care business. So we’ve already put about 6,000$ into it hoping to get it in good condition well work now we are being told it’s also going to need a new rear end. It makes a slight knocking noice under the truck when in low gear is this the rust on the bearings can it be repaired? Please help it’s been a nightmare any advice would be so appreciated
