    As a 180 Majesta owner, that’s one of the cleanest interiors I’ve ever seen in a 180 series. Dash and the “wood grain” is absolutely perfect.
    Love you talking Crowns Ross!

    Great review of the Majesta. They’re a great looking car. Imagine if they made them like this today. It’s a really modern car for its age. 0-100km was pretty good considering the size of the car. Good to see a RWD car, I’ve always liked RWD cars the most. I wouldn’t mind owning one of these. Thanks for the review.

      Would be a weapon!

  • @josephkelly4893

    Nice torque out of that engine, a few more pounds of boost and it would be a weapon

    • @gavinr9107

      A few more pounds and rods would quite likely pop out of the block to greet you for afternoon tea. The 3UZ in these are not as stout as the earlier 1UZ engines. An IS350 4.08 diff with a Cusco/OS giken LSD and some PPE headers would compliment it nicely however.

    • @jakewatts369

      @@gavinr9107rods are fine actually the issue with this engine is the thin cylinder walls, thats how the 3uz came to be, its just a bored out 1uz

    • @gavinr9107

      @@jakewatts369 However if I am not mistaken, the 3UZ rods are actually much skinnier than the early 1UZ rods, and the early 1UZ could handle a lot more power with forced induction than the 3UZ? So the issue is both the internals and the thin walls of the block itself?

    Well people say they wouldn't have sold in Australia but on my POP for my 06 BF Fairlane it initially sold for 91k. So at a pricepoint in the 60k mark i believe these would have sold, considering it's so much more car for the price.

    • @JaggedDyldo

      These sold here with a lexus badge (ls430) for $180k without a supercharger. There's no way people would have paid close to that for a toyota badge.

    • @d15z1sux

      @@JaggedDyldo ls430 is a different car altogether, same engine but the car is different

    • @RossReviewsau

      Unfortunately the tax in Australia is just out of control!!! If it was around the same price as in Japan then people would have bought them here but sadly they would have most likely been close to double

    Such sweet engines, the spread of power is amazing, they are quite technical and clever and... super reliable. Toyota made some brilliant cars, I remember the first Lexus being launched in the UK, thought they won't rock Mercedes or BMW.... wrong. Nice review, see if you can find an early one with the V12, you will be looking for tunnels then...

    If I was a Japanese business man in the early 2000's and this was the alternative to a Merc or BMW I would definitely choose the crown in a heartbeat. Seems like the UZ engines were used for plenty of different Toyota models you could have this car running for a very long time as you wouldn't be short of parts
