    I have the rare GS460, same drivetrain. Mine had a rare option of woollen seats so comfy and still kept the cooling and heated seats.
    One thing you can do on these if it's the same as the GS, swap the transmission ecu out for an ISF one. It will then shift as quick as one and auto blip.
    The LS can't do this only the GS460 and this Majesta

      ive got both gs 430 ans 460 , in nz , cheaper and best way to get instant throttle response and no lag gear change , and in the gs460 best ! is an ELITEDRIVE SMART THROTTLE .. $400mag and turbo .. p,ugs into throttle cable above pedal .. control unit , 2xmatchbox size sits where you can see it ... they have 9 modes .. eg .. in my gs460 (dif modes in my 430) .. 460s canbe set inauto mode or manuel mode (which i do ) ... settings , normal , econ , tow , 4x4 , but sport , sport plus and race modes have 10 dial up settings in each mode , 0-9, sorace mode 9 ,rev limiter sets at 7750 ,so changes gearbox touge since extra revs (normal change thru to next gear at 6350 ) still will but at what you dial in , and in auto (not driving manuelly) it kicks down 2 instantly but then another gear instantly too if tells not right ratio , plus since extra revs , touge , you get slight hp increase , id say i got 25hp extra and no standard gs 430 or gs 460 touches mine on the roll or standing start .. they change gear at 6350 , i can run mine thru tochange extra 1000/1400 revs per gear extra .. well over 180 kph in3rd .. in sport , plus and race , plus i use AUTO mode alot (just changes cars performance to how you are driving it, soif you thrashing it , it senses and changesbinto semi race mode , etc ...ive had 300/600 hp cars my whole life (late 50s now) and this little plug in is best value for money performance part ive ever got (built $60/70k )engines before so know good from bad and excellant extras worth getting .. for 400nz buy one .. takes mag and turbo 10min to put in above throttle .. got my controller in both by the sliding ashtray ... i dont work for them but fully recommend them especially to you as we have same car and i know how amazedni was at change in performance ,whole new car ...

    I'm late to the party but I come bearing ... my new-to-me 2011 black Majesta! Grade 4.5 at auction so VERY tidy. The seller actually said in his ad to come and look at this video, which helped me make the final decision and I've honestly never been happier and more surprised about a car purchase! The sheer luxury of the interior and looks of the ceramic coated black exterior with Modellista body kit are worth far more than the purchase price ... until you add in a friggen rear wheel drive V8! I may as well add that in a return trip from Newcastle to Gunnedah I got 7.6L/100km (yes, 13.2 km/L) and Newcastle to Taree and back was 8.2L/100km. I've bought a CrownFocus Apple Carplay adaptor unit that fits behind and uses the original screen (I didn't want a visible add-on) and am a mickey hair away from paying the deposit on a set of chrome Work Emitz wheels in their smallest size - 19 inch. I just think you need to see a good amount of tyre wall in a "conservative" luxury car like this.

      @simpletonballsack 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@B33ond It rarely gets driven and is really just a toy. It has the Work Emitz wheels on it now and looks as unreal as I could have hoped. I think it's pretty thirsty around town, but I do like to put the boot in a bit. It will only take 98 petrol and I get that at Costco for the same as E10 elsewhere so don't really care about fuel cost.

    Really interesting review - I've seen a few of these S200's around in NZ, but didn't know much about them. I think that was 7.6 kilometers per litre, which is about 13.2 litres per 100km, which is not great for normal driving, but not bad for a 4.6 litre V8 in a heavy car if you've been hoofing it with the right foot. I have the same engine & transmission in my GS460, which is probably a fair bit lighter than a Crown, but normally I'm sitting somewhere between 9-10 km/l (under 10 litres per 100km) - a long clear highway run I've seen as much as 13.5km/l or around 7.5 litres per 100km.

      @@RossReviewsau Yeah the Aussie/NZ "Litres per 100 km" thing is a weird standard that's really confusing. Could be worse though, could be "Miles per gallon" where you don't know if it's US or Imperial gallons. Interesting they use a stick on vinyl for the console - the Lexus GS and LS get "real wood veneer" (though "car people" who have been in my car think it's plastic because it is so heavily lacquered) - odd they don't also put it in their top JDM Toyota models, particularly as it looks like a lot of the console panels are lifted right from an LS460. Guess it's a cost thing.

    I own a hybrid 3.5v6 GWS204. I want to add some info: the v8 crown majesta is the long wheel base version of the standard crown, around 10cm longer and all exta space goes to the rear seat. Just think about them as a cheaper alternative to the Toyota Century. There is a 4wd version (urs207) but the v8 is the last gen 4.3. Air suspension is standard so many will come with after market height controller. Soft close doors should be standard but I'm not sure. It's a common company chauffeur car choice and there are also a 4-seat version that comes with electric control ottoman on the 'VIP' seat (the left rear one). Small cooler behind the rear arm rest is a common option as well. Unfortunally as most people who pay for them sit at the back so it's difficult to find a nice low k ones with adaptive cruise control, parking sonar, driver fatigue monitor and the most rarest: night vision with lane keeping assist. Rear AC (3 zone, cool only) is a rare option as well and you can't pick it with the cooler (small fridge).
    The gws204 3.5 v6 hybrid is the sister car to gws191 Lexus GS450h but with different final gear. Claimed combine output is 345ps, pretty close to the 4.6v8 and also lighter (1.8 tons). 0-100 is low 6 or high 5. Many hybrid ones are pretty loaded as tech is one of the selling points back then.
    The 3.5 v6 and 3.0 v6 are also allowed to be imported. However they are not as loaded as the hybrid ones on average. You will be as lucky as winning a jackpot if you find the '+M' 3.5v6 with a factory (Modellista) supercharger in auctions. I think less than 300 were made.

    These share all the same floor pan/driveline as the Lexus URS190. The Crown is much better finished off than the Lexus in my oppinion, after owning a GS460 and now owning a GRS204 Athlete ( which again is the same chassis and floorpan as the *S190 series GS ) The Athlete is the V6 version and the sports version of the Crown *S200 series. You should do a road test on one of those as that will really impress you with it's acceleration. As quick as that Majesta ;) I really like my GRS204 Athlete and it's a rare colour with only 82 being made in 6V4 Toyota green metallic.

      I imagined the build quality and finish would be equal? I have owned a 08 GS450H, 08 ISF and now a 13 GS350. The Crown is essentially Toyota's icon for the Japanese only market with Lexus being their global luxury platform.

    • @iiiiii8522
      @iiiiii8522 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@gavinr9107 Okay, so I've had a Lexus IS350 2012 and a Majesta of the same generation. What I've learnt is just get a Lexus. They're faster, and the build quality is similar but I'd say a notch better. In Australia, they're also much easier to fix if anything goes wrong. Toyota and Lexus share most parts and Toyota parts centres are very resourceful. My IS350 was doing frequent sub-5s 0-100km/hr times best I did was 4.7s fully stock. They're also more sporty externally and in their stance. The IS350 2nd gen have really aggressive gearing so they're insanely fast on the low end (the most important KPI in my opinion). They will beat many V8s from a dig and other fast cars stock for stock, massive sleepers.

    The Wheels look stupid on it. Another thing to remember is its a CVT trans not a real auto sadly. Thrash it and your not gunna be able to swap out parts easy, its off the road till you find a part or import the part. The maps are the same type that the old sony pda computers used to use.
    I wodner what the hybrid does 0-100 wise. the 3.5l v6 with hybrid.

      It's not a cvt, it's an 8 speed torque converter auto.
