Just had my third baby! Bring more blankets and pillows then you think you need. Hospital beds/couches are uncomfortable and having your own bedding from home is amazing! Bring very basics toiletries (toothpaste/brushes, face wash, shampoo, conditioner…etc) make sure you bring a 0-3 outfit for going home and a new born. You never know how big the baby will be! Bring a few different kinds of pacifiers. A few swaddle blankets and a nice cozy blanket for the baby. Bring really comfortable lounge clothes and Jammie’s for yourselves. Nursing tank tops, a nice robe, that kind of thing. Warm socks (hospitals are cold). And SNACKS. Make sure you have chapstick and hair ties for labor. And don’t forget your phone charger!
Yess that was my issue I thought only new born clothes and 1 of them was to small she was a chunky 8 pounder lol so bringing a 0/3 outfit also is smart!
Go with the space theme. It's adorable and it creates inquisitive children who love to explore, adventure and have a wild imagination. Perfect for you and Matt 🤗😻
Your baby bay is a gift from Heaven and is so blessed having you as parents he's going to have fun. Can't wait to see him. Blessed and Praying for a easy delivery for Abby.
Mom of three here! Some things that helped my babies. White Noise machines for when they sleep. cool mist humidifiers for when they have a cold. I love the baby swaddles that just zip for night time sleep, they are super nice for those night time diaper changes and feedings. I also suggest baby wearing! I loved having my babies wrapped up close to me. My favorite wrap is the Solly baby wrap. It is nice and thin, perfect for the Az heat. The nurses will teach you everything you need to know! Especially swaddling 🙂 I’m not good at packing hospital bags, but I would suggest bringing a 0-3 month old outfit and newborn. You never know how big or small your baby will be!
One thing I did when I was pregnant, I started buying lots of diapers at the grocery store each week. I would buy what was on sale and then use a coupon too!! (Not sure if they still do coupons for that stuff) Also, I would buy baby food in the same fashion as long as I knew they would not be expired. I ended up saving so much money in that first year. 😊 So happy for you guys.
I have four kids. Why did I never think to do this? I always just hoped we’d get a ton for our diaper derby & baby shower. This is a great idea!! And don’t buy newborn diapers! You’ll get way too many at your shower & have to exchange the sizes. Size 2 & 3 are the sizes mine seemed to be in for a long time.
Honestly this was something I wish I DIDNT do! We did this for both of our kids and had the same problem each time, our kids would outgrow whatever size we bought before we used all the diapers up so we had way more diapers than we needed and we WASTED so much money!
Maybe just get gift cards to buy diapers? Because some babies do better with certain brands (based on fit, skin sensitivities, leakage, etc.) Target, Costco, and Aldi if you have it.
I was a minimalist when it came to baby stuff 😂. The thing I could not live without was my ergo- babywearing was a must! I accomplished so much by wearing our babies (I have three at different times). My husband wore our babies as well- would take them on walks so I could get rest. I had my babies sleeping with us- so much easier to nurse- I didn't have to wake up and walk around the house- so much more rested for both of us. At 6 months they went on a mattress next to our bed and then by 18 months they went into their own rooms. Such sweet memories. Bradley method birthing class- will teach so much more than the birth- and trust me the hubby will appreciate the class- they teach the men how to give massages during labor and what to say and what Not to say. They also teach how to nurse... Really recommend having a date night and doing the Bradley method class👌🏼
Our hospital had a Bringing Home Baby class where they taught us how to bathe the baby, how to swaddle, all the basics of how to take care of a newborn. It was very helpful!
Mom of 2 girls here!! As for baby hospital bag, don’t overpack. Baby will be naked most the time anyways EXCEPT the going home outfit & outfit for pictures! For dad, make him in charge of the chargers! And really only an outfit, blanket, pillow, and slides! For mom, bring something that buttons up to change into. You’re not going to want to be in a hospital gown the whole time! ❤️❤️ love you guys and Goodluck!
Y’all may seem so nervous now as first time parents, but I promise when he is born, everything comes naturally to you as if you’ve been a parent before 💕 you will get the hang of it as soon as he’s born 😊
Abby you are looking more and more beautiful in your pregnancy every time I see you. You're outfits are the cutest too. Love you guys hope your back and everything feels much better! ❤
Hi! Nursing student here and I just did my rotation in OB! I recommend bringing your own towels, comfy clothes, slippers, and toiletries! Anything that you feel will make you feel more comfortable and pack snacks! For baby just bring your going home outfit and blanket. The hospital will give you so much so definitely make sure you have a bag you can fit everything in. I would even check with your hospital to see if you can tour the labor unit so you can ask questions! Congratulations and I hope this helps!
Matt and Abby, if you see this, I just want you to know that when I see a new video of yours, It really helps me feel better about life. A lot of tough things have been happening in my family right now, And watching your videos helps me get through some of that easier.
Congratulations to both of you!! I am a first time momma, and had my son in February. One thing that I highly suggest you get is a dresser with a changing table on top, or you can just get a regular dresser and put a changing pad of your choice on top. It is so handy to have their little jammies and onesies right there where you change them, and you can put diapers, wipes, etc in there too. It makes life so much easier, and is easier on your back. I have also found that it makes really messy situations easier to deal with. 💙
Jessica I totally agree with you about the dresser! My girlfriend had one that she used! She also had a shelf above it for the diapers, wipes and creams/lotions. That way you had everything at your fingertips!! GREAT IDEA!!!😀💙👶🏼
I just had a baby a week and a half ago and the best advice I got for a hospital bag was “pack like you’re packing for a weekend trip” and “the hospital has more than you think”. The things I wish we brought were the boppy pillow (or any other breastfeeding pillow) and your own swaddles. The swaddle blankets the hospital uses are not good. The hospital will have EVERYTHING for postpartum care, so don’t fret about bringing all your own stuff like breast pads and mommy diapers.
Congrats on your baby! It's such a sweet journey, enjoy every minute. As for nursery suggestions, I'd recommend building off the mobile as far as colors go. As a mother of two (not an expert)if you go with a theme everyone will LOVINGLY over gift you those themed items. My first son's nursery themed was jungle. This might make me seem ungrateful, but honestly it became overwhelming how many jungle themed items we received. So I'd recommend going with a nursery themed color pallet. For our second son I picked a quilt I loved and built of those colors (teal, coral and gray) and it came together really well. Make the nursery a relaxing place where you and your baby can wind down and make memories together. I highly recommend a lazy boy chair for those late nights. Hope this was helpful
I had my baby in February! What to pack! - heating pad for breastfeeding if you plan to. After giving birth when you breastfeed it can feel crampy. - nipple shield (helped with my baby) - a nice cozy PJ - leggings and blouse for going home - phone charger (10 feet long cord) The outlets aren’t close - socks or slippers - brought my pillow and used it in labor too (It was so nice smelling something like home) - blanket - toiletries - nipple cream!!!! Your best friend (Breastfeeding at first can be uncomfortable) - a extra bag for all the stuff they give you - snacks for after birth Hope that’s helpful
I love those relatable feelings of having no idea what to buy or use for baby. I'm on my third pregnancy and trust me when I say you will be FINE. Feed your baby and love him and that's all you need!!!!! There are all kinds of suggestions you'll hear but just try what sounds good to you and see what sticks! The hospital provides you with everything you need. I way over packed my bag. We had 2 bassinets we never used because we ended up co sleeping. Take care of your nipples and your lady bits. The nose Frida is a MUST, as gross as it is 😂 Everyone is different! You guys will do a great job!
You guys are doing amazing. A newborn needs so little really..just lots of love and lots of feeds 🙂.. mom needs a lot of care during this time. so don’t stress about having to get everything up front. You’ll know what you really need as you go through this wonderful journey with your child.
One of the BEST things I packed in my hospital bag was my own depends!!!! The hospital ones don’t hold as much as name brand “Depends”.! Also bring different sizes of baby clothes.. (premie, newborn & 0-3 months bc you never know how big they’ll actually be and what will fit them best!)
You can never have enough blankets! I brought 2 but my husband ended up going and getting 3 more and we still wished we had more. After heading home we made sure to have about 2 or 3 in every room of the house. Bring clothes in every size from premi to 4 to t months. A robe. Hospital ones suck for breast feeding so bring one that's soft and easy to get on and off. I bought it a size to big so it slipped off in seconds. Also once home we went through about 5 strollers until we found the right one. With 3 kids we have delt with not enough storage in it or not enough room. We finely ended up going with the mockingbird stroller. It's easy to swap seats so all the kids are comfy all day and not complaning (Disney land is so much easier if they all are in the stroller and have the option to take a nap anytime). Its alittle more expensive but you only have to buy one for all the kids instead of buying a bigger one each time. Congratulations! Super excited for you guys!
OMG. Yes 5 kids later and still love the mockingbird! Your so right, could not go to Disney without it. We live in Orlando so it's a common stop for us. I think we ended up buying a bunch more blankets at Costco too.
Great list. Just wanted to add some things. A pillow for abby. Hospital ones aren't always the most comfy, transfer or clear some fo the pics of your phone before he comes because once he's here you'll easily take 100 pics in the first 12 hours. , and last but not least, a speaker and soft light. We forgot the charger for the speaker and the battery died but when it was on it was so much more peaceful and calm in the room. After my third kid I realized (he was first one born at night. 3:06 am) how much calmer he was with low lighting in the room. The harsh hospital lights were hard in him and us, after 37 hours in hard labor I was so tired of the bright lights.
Baby Howard is literally due a day before my birthday!!! I'm literally so excited for God's little bundle of blessing to you guys! We love you so much, and praying for the path God has for you ahead!!
A neck pillow is GOLD. like a travel pillow ( used the right way aka under your chin not behind you neck ) You will thank me with tears in your eyes. Between nursing and holding your baby non stop , having something to rest your head on make ALL the difference.
Stuff to pack in Abby’s hospital bag: •Comfortable after birth clothes •Comfy shoes/slippers •Snacks for before and after labor •Hair brush •Toothbrush and toothpaste •Deodorant Hope this is helpful 😊 I am 1 of 13 children (all form the same 2 parents.) and have helped with my mom and my sister-in-law’s births, so I have a little background on what you should be ready for.😊 Again hope this helps!
Maybe a little makeup ( if you feel up to it ) and the Babies going home outfit take a couple it really will be difficult because they take hospital pictures. 🤷🏼♀️ that’s all I have to add to the list. As always Abby you’re looking amazingly beautiful while being pregnant!!!
I’m a postpartum nurse, and I always recommend that parents bring a sound machine to the hospital. You never know where your room will be (e.g., near the nurse’s station or the door). This will help you get as much sleep as possible. You won’t need to bring any pads, panties, breast pumps, diapers, or wipes (the hospital provides those). I’d also bring different pacifiers because you never know which one your baby may like better.
you guys are going to make the most amazing parents!!!! me and my twin are 15 and have been watching you for a few years now and we’re just THRILLEEDDDD about this!! you’re inspiring a lot of people and im praying for health all around until the baby is here 🤍
I love you guys so much! I’m not trying to be one of those people who gives advice but I heard you say you’re the only one that can feed him. I think that’s so sweet and special. Something my sister had to do was continually be at her baby’s side from the moment he was born until he was finished breast feeding because he would not take a bottle. If you think you want a break every now and then, don’t forget to give him a bottle in between nursings so he will get used to it 🤍 I hope that came off caring and not bossy!! Praying for you guys and the special time coming !!!
Congratulations to you both! This is an exciting time so soak it up! I just had my 4th baby this past fall and a helpful tip to remember is that the second night in the hospital is a rough one. For some reason, babies just want to cluster feed all night and need lots of skin to skin. So it helps to remember you’re not doing anything wrong, they are just extra needy at that time and want to be close to you. It’s a bonding time for all of you. Be patient, work together and trust that you will both figure this out! Praying for your delivery!!
I just finished my OB rotation for nursing school! The moms would pack the pillow that wraps around their tummy for the baby to lay on for breastfeeding, an outfit for baby and a beanie, and a pacifier. The hospital will provide everything else for the baby :)
Here's one more good advice that my doctor gave me that I wish I followed more. He told me to make sure I sleep when my baby was sleeping. Which can be really hard to do if you are trying to catch up on cleaning or just needing a little time for yourself. Sleep is so important for your body ❤️
I totally feel you Abby, I’m 32 weeks today and have 10% of what I feel like I need, I cannot believe I have 8 weeks to get everything ready when it feels like it was gonna be so far away a couple days ago! I keep saying I can’t believe how fast time goes when you’re pregnant let alone how fast it’ll go once they’re here! We’ll get there and everything will be just fine!
Ask questions at the hostpital. The doctors and nurses are there to answer your questions and will teach you anything from how to nurse, change a diaper and swaddle, to baby gas exercises and how to bathe the baby. Love you guys, hope this is an amazing experience and can't wait to see baby Howard.
When I was pregnant with my son literally everything on my right side hurt, you might possibly have a rib that is pushed out but it'll go back in. Oh and the lower back pain was the worse even hip pain. But you got this momma he will be here before you know it, then all that pain you're feeling will be worth it because you carried a little human for almost 9 months & you're glowing every single day. ❤️
I love Abby... We have a room!!! Dead serious and I just smiled and melted at the same time... YOUR SO BEAUTIFUL AND GLOWING!!! I see you regrouping Matt but it's funny when you have silly moment in his world... Cant wait for your bundle of joy... Get focused Matt we have 10 weeks
Birthing class will help Matt know how to coach Abby thru delivery and gives ideas for comfort techniques, etc. It's a good idea to take a birthing class soon. You will learn to be parents as you go, you've already got a head start with love and care.
I think Where The Wild Things Are would really fit your current aesthetic for him (based on the color palette of his clothing) I can envision browns/tans/olive green/navy blue/gold/cream.
Your baby is so blessed to have the best parents in the entire world. You guys are the cutest couple in the world. I’m only 18 years old and you guys make me want to have a family like your when I grow up and get the chance to be a mamma like Abby is. Matt, you will make the greatest daddy to your baby boy. Your hilarious and the baby will be to. Keep up the positivity. Love u guys so much and congrats on the baby boy. ❤️❤️
My life has been flying by, it feels like yesterday Abby just announced she was pregnant! This is all insane!! Edit: I love how confused and surprised they are by the breast pump their faces are like “what have we gotten out selves into” 😂
@@Paige.132 no lol I was just typing something so that way I could edit it and write what I really wanted to, that was just the first thing that came to my mind. I didn’t realize I was actually first lol
I promise you swaddling will be your best friend. It's not that hard at all once you get use to doing it, it becomes natural I swaddled both of my boys and they love it!! ❤❤ so excited to see your baby boy! You guys are going to be great parents 🤗
Don’t worry about over packing if you aren’t super far away from the hospital! Here’s what I brought☺️ Me: PJ’s, change of clothes to go home in (something loose fitting, I wore a loose dress but I changed when I got home because it was tricky to nurse in), shower stuff (that after labor shower is 🤌🏼), toiletries, hair ties, slippers, phone charger, hand sanitizer, a lot of people say to bring a pillow and blanket which I’m sure is a nice touch but I felt like it was unnecessary and didn’t want to tote it around. Whatever you need to make yourself the most comfortable and happy☺️ Husband: PJs, change of clothes, toiletries, chargers, snacks, blanket, pillow Baby: going home outfit and whatever you want for hospital pictures. Take everything in the baby cart/postpartum supplies home with you! ☺️
I’m so excited for you guys!! I’m second oldest of 9 kids and I LOVE it!! My mom says that after the 3rd child adding one more to the mix doesn’t feel so hard because your already out numbered😆 go for it!! Have lots of kids😀
Guys, don't stress about the nursery. Baby boy will be in your room next to your bed for 6 months, you have plenty of time to get it perfect. Baby needs love and milk for the first few weeks, then tummy time and play time to get their little brain stimulated. Mama will need much more care in those first few weeks. (I had 2 sections and the 2nd one I didn't heal for 10 weeks!) So girl look after yourself and set care baskets up for yourself. Baskets with pads, clean pants etc in the bathroom.. baskets with nappies and wipes in next to where the baby sleeps at night. All these things help so much when you aren't able to move about easily in the first days/weeks. Sending so much love from the UK xx
I know you mentioned birth classes. I highly recommend it. I’m a young mama of 2 hand my husband and I went to a birth class before our first and the birth classes teach your partner how to help you during labor, what you guys should expect for labour/delivery, how to change diapers, swaddle etc. my husband said it helped him feel more confident to be able to help and support me during labour, delivery, postpartum.
A birth class doesn’t just teach you to give birth it also teaches you how to look after your baby, breastfeeding, how to swaddle your baby, sleep routines, changing nappies etc… look into it I really recommend. You guys will be great, remember trust your gut feelings, mummy & daddy always know best! 💖
Space is a cool theme. Lots of colors, sheets for the crib. Also it would be super easy to paint the nursery. Darker blue walls, lots of planets and either white dots for stars or those glow in the dark stick on stars, maybe both.
Love your videos! while you're in the hospital DON'T be afraid to ask the midwives to help teach you things. My first child was born 7 weeks early and I worked full time up until 32 weeks, so I never got the chance to do the classes. The midwives taught me so much including different ways to swaddle my baby, how to hold him for a bath meaning we never needed a bath seat, different ways to hold him for breast feeding (this is key because it helped us find what was most comfortable for my baby and I, which also meant his feeds were optimised. I hope this helps you guys. x
This baby has the best parents, and also when little man is born the love comes instinctively and also I didn’t know how to swaddle and was horrible at trying to get it down pat, but there’s swaddles you can put that velcro, just saying ! ♥️ And also buying wipes and diapers when you go to the store helps so you don’t have to worry about going out all the time for them, it helps 😊
CHAPSTICK!!! And hard candies. They help so much with labor. If you don’t want the hospital underwear, bring some undies you don’t care about messing up (for after birth) If there is any music that with help make you comfortable while in labor….load the hubby’s phone up. Praying for y’all. You’re going to be great parents! I know you will 💖
For hospital bag focus on stuff for yourself. Hospital will have everything for baby if anything bring a going home outfit to take him home. For you I recommend toiletries, robe, slippers, and stretchy clothes to go home.
hospital bag must : Medication for your husband! The hospital can give you nearly anything you ask for, but not your spouse since they are not a patient. Tylenol, Peptobismal, cough drops… etc. With the stress of it all/ nurses coming in to check in around the clock, my husband started getting a bad headache during my labor. Making sure your spouse is taken care of is HUGE in their ability to help and support you through labor. You want Matt to feel and be at his best!
How exciting! I just had my baby back in March. I’m a first time mom too! Honestly, you really don’t need to pack much for the hospital. Most hospitals provide basically everything. For me: disposable underwear, nursing bras, robe, socks, sweats to wear home, toiletries, and chargers. I brought a nightgown too, but especially if you’re breastfeeding, you don’t need much lol. I found it way easier to just stay in my robe after delivery. For baby: I really only packed one or two outfits to go home in and a blanket. I kept her in the hospital onesie until it was time to go home. We weren’t there for long! For husband: Sweats, t-shirts, jacket, and toiletries. Then he brought books and stuff to read while waiting. I packed everything in one large suitcase. We also brought our nursing pillow too.
As someone who did the hospital bag twice; things for Matt to pack: camera, batteries, several changes of clothes (prepare for 3 days in case of c-section and something comfy to sleep in...its hard enough in a hospital guest bed), toiletries (minimal toothbrush and paste, deodorant), snacks (unless you plan to leave the hospital or overpay for gift shop snacks), and a small push present for Abby.
First time momma too I had my boy in April and it comes so natural you guys when he arrives you will know what to do and how to love him just the way he needs! I know having a boy is the most warming thing and a bond you'll never be able to break 🤍
I'm so excited for Little Dude! He's going to have the best parents! I know y'all are going to do absolutely amazing as parents. I can't for y'all to get to meet your baby!
i discovered yall this year and i haven't stopped watching all of your videos! your videos make me laugh and they are so enjoyable to watch! congrats on the baby, i'm so excited for yall!! 🥰
Diaper bag recs: For mom: 3 lounge comfy outfits like high waisted biker shorts or yoga pants (kinda makes your belly feel supported) If nursing button up short or long sleeve shirts for sure Nursing bras High waisted underwear or depends if you want the diaper kind for after birth Toiletries of any kind Coconut oil for the nips for pumping or nursing it kinda preps them and it’s natural too Dermoplast Peri bottle Nursing pad inserts for leakage Blanket and pillow if you want your own cozy For dads: 3 outfits Under clothes Jacket or sweatshirt for the AC of hospital Socks Shoes Toiletries Blanket Pillow (Long phone charger cords for both of you) laptop or iPad if you wanna watch a movie or a show after having the baby and while your at the hospital recovering DEFINITELY snacks for Matt because us women can’t munch while were in labor the men don’t get food from the staff so I’d bring some fav snacks like protein bars, granola bars, fav drinks, cash for cafeteria so he can get real meals too. Make sure Matt eats cause nerves and labor/delivery can sometimes do a lot to a man and their sugar levels and cause lightheadedness so you wanna make sure their snacking and drinking liquids. Bring some extra for you too if you think you’ll want some after having the baby but you get fed meals Abby:) For baby: bring any outfits you want him to wear, your own swaddle or swaddle blanket if you want him swaddled (I’d bring atleast 3 little outfits:) CARSEAT LOL don’t forget that
Great ideas Shania, I was craving an Italian sub while I was in labor! Lol My husband got one for me after I was settled in with my first son! Thank God for take out!!! Haha 😂
I’m 20 weeks pregnant with my first and have that same exact pain in your right side your talking about. My sister in law has 4 kids and explained it to me what it is and the name (which I don’t remember😅). It also is because your body is changing so much and so is your center of gravity as well:) chiropractic care while pregnant will do wonders for you it’s so good and amazing for your body especially when pregnant. You could also ask your care provider about it and they can help with that so you don’t have to worry about it much when you’re in labor and after you give birth.:)
The most genuine family I follow. You guys always touch my heart, foreals !! I cannot wait to see bebe when he’s here, I’m totally sure you guys will be strong, gentle and very compassionate parents. God made an amazing choice by gifting you this beautiful little life. I’m truly so excited!!! God bless you both!!❤️😊
Love y’all so much!!!! I really hope you guys have a wonderful next 10 weeks! I can’t wait for the baby boy!!! :) I remember I once asked on a video, “will you guys change your name if you ever had a baby?” And now - now I am happy! You guys are awesome!!! Love y’all! Can’t wait for baby boy! 💕
Abby calling Matt Mathew James,in that sweet voice is the sweetest thing ever❤❤I heard that after so long❤❤please come to kolkata someday..I would like to meet 3 of u...loads of love from kolkata...❤
I just turned 18 and am pregnant. I’m clueless. Watching them become parents is so comforting to me that I’ll learn so much by the time my baby is ready! So much love
Mama, you’ve got this! Look into what community resources you can have and online communities of other mamas that are in your area! A doctor you trust, and yourself, ultimately are the ones who know best for you and little one ❤️❤️❤️
The best thing we got when our son was born, a Lazyboy recliner. You will want to lay back with him and they are super comfortable. You will be able to read to him and fall asleep with him. You will be able to use it for many years. Plus he can use it when he gets older.
On baby #3 here. Most important things to pack for the hospital mama: HEATING PAD, extended charger, books/word searches/something for you, SNACKS- trust me, dry shampoo, sound soother, movies to watch, pillow, blanket, slippers. For dad- bathroom stuff, pillow/blanket & his fav snacks!
The room is going to be SO cute, whatever you choose. I loved the colors of that space theme mobile. The nurse at the hospital will show you how to swaddle, it’s easy once they show you. You guys will be fine. Have fun putting it all in there! I wonder if the “bow” is a bow tie. 💙
Omggg these little things are freaking adorable!!😭❤️ Can’t wait to see the lil dude. Matt and Abby, you guys are awesome. Take care you guys and all the best for this beautiful journey!✨🌱
Best thing in my hospital bad was a sound machine. Helps baby feel like they are in the womb and it honestly helped me and my husband sleep so much better. Hospital halls are so loud.
Best thing I did while pregnant with our 3rd was get a prenatal massage. It helped with my back pain sooooo much! I think you should also go for a space theme! And as a mom of 4, 3 kids has by far been the hardest number of children! Everyone I know with 4 or more says 3 was the hardest!
Abby my oldest son was born in Phoenix 10/1/80, going to be 42 this year. You won't need many long pants or heavy clothes for him. Most of your clothes should be cotton since it will be cooler for him.
Abby, ask your doctor about sciatica! I struggled with it with my first son. I did some physical therapy for relief. As for packing, don’t over pack! Make up, couple outfits for you and baby, shower supplies and maybe a boppy. My one “extra” necessity was chapstick (you lips will get dry!) take advantage of the diapers and wipes etc. because uhh free stuff why not?! Babies aren’t cheap! I can’t wait for your baby boy to make his appearance and watch you guys grow as parents😍
I love baby stuff! So cute. For hospital I literally packed jammies with snacks and toothbrush/toothpaste for husband. For me and after three kids what I packed personally was a going home outfit (maternity cloths cause belly will still be big), shower stuff, toothpaste/toothbrush, and wallet/paperwork. They provide you with supplies for healing up including hospital underwear which I loved for the first week after birth. You guys got this!! And they teach you to swaddle at the hospital! 😊
I am a postpartum nurse and i think the things you really need are jammies, a robe, maybe some slippers, all your toiletries, phone charger. Don't worry about pads, postpartum underwear, peri bottle the hospitals usually have plenty and you will forget to use yours anyway lol then baby clothes for baby but don't overdo it. Remember your cute going home outfit :)
Amazing ❤️❤️❤️
Yess that was my issue I thought only new born clothes and 1 of them was to small she was a chunky 8 pounder lol so bringing a 0/3 outfit also is smart!
I second on the snacks!! You can never have too many snacks! So excited for you guys!
@Jacqueline Sopt
Especially since you don’t have to worry about what you eat, still some if you choose to breastfeed.
Congrats on third baby!😉😊
The fact that this channel is changing from a couple's channel to a family channel is sooo precious!! ❤️
“MATTHEW JAMES!” Will never get old 😂! You guys always make my day!
Same 😂💗
4:40 my fav part🤣🤣🌚
Ikr, it very gets old 😂🥰
@Jessica Arkestål thanks lol
AND I LOVE THE SPACE THEME SO MUCHH!! 🔭🪐☄️🛸👽🛰🚀
That's not how babies are made.
Yeah that isn’t
No that is how babies are made, God makes them through women it says in the Bible. Read the truth!!
@@angelinaromaso5346 you mean the bible re-written and taken out of context by old white men?
@@Samantha-pk5di noo it is by Gods laws
Mom of three here!
Some things that helped my babies.
White Noise machines for when they sleep. cool mist humidifiers for when they have a cold. I love the baby swaddles that just zip for night time sleep, they are super nice for those night time diaper changes and feedings. I also suggest baby wearing! I loved having my babies wrapped up close to me. My favorite wrap is the Solly baby wrap. It is nice and thin, perfect for the Az heat.
The nurses will teach you everything you need to know! Especially swaddling 🙂
I’m not good at packing hospital bags, but I would suggest bringing a 0-3 month old outfit and newborn.
Yessss I did the same. Target has the diaper deals regularly, where you spend 100 and get a 20 dollar gift card card. It varies , sometimes it's 30.
Abby, you look so amazing! I really like your straight hair, too!
10 weeks… that’s so exciting!! You are in my prayers💖💖💖
Matt and Abby, if you see this, I just want you to know that when I see a new video of yours,
It really helps me feel better about life.
A lot of tough things have been happening in my family right now,
And watching your videos helps me get through some of that easier.
As a peds nurse, the mamaroo swing is a life saver! All our babies love it :)
- nipple shield (helped with my baby)
- a nice cozy PJ
- leggings and blouse for going home
- phone charger (10 feet long cord)
The outlets aren’t close
- socks or slippers
- brought my pillow and used it in labor too
(It was so nice smelling something like home)
- blanket
- toiletries
- nipple cream!!!! Your best friend
(Breastfeeding at first can be uncomfortable)
- a extra bag for all the stuff they give you
- snacks for after birth
Hope that’s helpful
I love those relatable feelings of having no idea what to buy or use for baby. I'm on my third pregnancy and trust me when I say you will be FINE. Feed your baby and love him and that's all you need!!!!!
There are all kinds of suggestions you'll hear but just try what sounds good to you and see what sticks! The hospital provides you with everything you need. I way over packed my bag. We had 2 bassinets we never used because we ended up co sleeping. Take care of your nipples and your lady bits. The nose Frida is a MUST, as gross as it is 😂
Everyone is different!
My favorite thing is when Abby goes, “Matthew James!” It’s so funny! Anyway, praying for you guys and your baby!
You guys are literally already great parents! You guys have grown so much :) I can't wait till the baby is born!❤️
Same, all products worth it. Love the mockingjay too!
Also your soo right about the robe situation. I packed so much for my daughter I forgot about half of my clothes.
Haha I did the same thing the first time🤣
A neck pillow is GOLD.
like a travel pillow ( used the right way aka under your chin not behind you neck )
You will thank me with tears in your eyes.
Between nursing and holding your baby non stop , having something to rest your head on make ALL the difference.
Stuff to pack in Abby’s hospital bag:
•Comfortable after birth clothes
•Comfy shoes/slippers
•Snacks for before and after labor
•Hair brush
•Toothbrush and toothpaste
•Deodorant
Hope this is helpful 😊
I am 1 of 13 children (all form the same 2 parents.) and have helped with my mom and my sister-in-law’s births, so I have a little background on what you should be ready for.😊
Again hope this helps!
This + lip balm and maxi pads and snug underwear.
@@christinelandreville1042 yes of course how could I forget pads duh 🙄 lol😅
I’d also add bring a pillow of your choice for breastfeeding
Maybe a little makeup ( if you feel up to it ) and the Babies going home outfit take a couple it really will be difficult because they take hospital pictures. 🤷🏼♀️ that’s all I have to add to the list. As always Abby you’re looking amazingly beautiful while being pregnant!!!
The BEST part of keeping neutral baby things (bassinet & rocker stuff) is you can use it for your next kids & save money that way! 🥰👍🏼
Love y’all soooooo much!! Can’t wait to see the fam grow and see y’all’s adorable baby boy💙💙
Praying for Abby and the baby. Hope all is well surely love watching you guys.
I love you guys!!❤️❤️❤️ praying for a healthy happy baby!!!

YALL ARE GOING TO BE WONDERFUL PARENTS ❤️
Your baby is so blessed to have the best parents in the entire world. You guys are the cutest couple in the world. I’m only 18 years old and you guys make me want to have a family like your when I grow up and get the chance to be a mamma like Abby is. Matt, you will make the greatest daddy to your baby boy. Your hilarious and the baby will be to. Keep up the positivity. Love u guys so much and congrats on the baby boy. ❤️❤️
My life has been flying by, it feels like yesterday Abby just announced she was pregnant! This is all insane!!
Edit: I love how confused and surprised they are by the breast pump their faces are like “what have we gotten out selves into” 😂
Nice
Is that all you care about is you being first to Matt and abby's video-
@@Paige.132 no lol I was just typing something so that way I could edit it and write what I really wanted to, that was just the first thing that came to my mind. I didn’t realize I was actually first lol
Hahahha i was thinking the same !!!!
Sameeeeee it felt like her announcement was so long ago but yesterday at the same time
I promise you swaddling will be your best friend. It's not that hard at all once you get use to doing it, it becomes natural I swaddled both of my boys and they love it!! ❤❤ so excited to see your baby boy! You guys are going to be great parents 🤗
I’m so excited for the baby to come you guys will be great parents 🙂
Don’t worry about over packing if you aren’t super far away from the hospital! Here’s what I brought☺️
Me: PJ’s, change of clothes to go home in (something loose fitting, I wore a loose dress but I changed when I got home because it was tricky to nurse in), shower stuff (that after labor shower is 🤌🏼), toiletries, hair ties, slippers, phone charger, hand sanitizer, a lot of people say to bring a pillow and blanket which I’m sure is a nice touch but I felt like it was unnecessary and didn’t want to tote it around. Whatever you need to make yourself the most comfortable and happy☺️
Husband: PJs, change of clothes, toiletries, chargers, snacks, blanket, pillow
Baby: going home outfit and whatever you want for hospital pictures.
Sending so much love from the UK xx
your baby boy is lucky to have you two as parents! god bless🤍
Omg I’m so excited for the baby, you guys have worked so hard for him! You guys are going to be great parents!❤️❤️
I definitely can’t wait to see Lil Dude! You’re definitely looking good Abby❤️ I love seeing the preparations for him🥰
Space is a cool theme. Lots of colors, sheets for the crib. Also it would be super easy to paint the nursery. Darker blue walls, lots of planets and either white dots for stars or those glow in the dark stick on stars, maybe both.
Yay! Abby your looking great. You and Matt are gonna be awesome parents! That baby gonna be lucky. 😄❤️
I hope this helps you guys. x
you guys are the cutest and are going to be such amazing parents! praying for a happy, healthy baby boy!!🤍🤍
This baby has the best parents, and also when little man is born the love comes instinctively and also I didn’t know how to swaddle and was horrible at trying to get it down pat, but there’s swaddles you can put that velcro, just saying ! ♥️
And also buying wipes and diapers when you go to the store helps so you don’t have to worry about going out all the time for them, it helps 😊
This baby boy is gonna have the best life! His parents are so joyful and full of happiness! 💞
I know you will 💖
Binging through Matt & Abby videos! - they are such a wholesome and sweet couple :)
For hospital bag focus on stuff for yourself. Hospital will have everything for baby if anything bring a going home outfit to take him home. For you I recommend toiletries, robe, slippers, and stretchy clothes to go home.
This was a super sweet video! You guys have the cutest baby boy decorations and clothes. I can’t wait to see the little dude! 💕
hospital bag must : Medication for your husband!
I can’t wait for the baby to be here! I love the space nursery idea! I’m so happy for you guys. Y’all are going to be the best parents! ❤️👶🏻
It’s so funny when Abby mentions wanting like 7 kids and Matt immediately has to say 3 😂
There’s no doubt in my mind that you guys will be the most loving parents ever. Can’t wait to meet the little dude 💕
totally unrelated but i love your pfp
@@JennaRose10 thank you!!
You guys should not worry about anything. Known and seeing how much you guys love each other, I know that this lil dude will be just fine.
Diaper bag recs:
For mom: 3 lounge comfy outfits like high waisted biker shorts or yoga pants (kinda makes your belly feel supported)
If nursing button up short or long sleeve shirts for sure
Nursing bras
High waisted underwear or depends if you want the diaper kind for after birth
Toiletries of any kind
Coconut oil for the nips for pumping or nursing it kinda preps them and it’s natural too
Dermoplast
Peri bottle
Nursing pad inserts for leakage
Blanket and pillow if you want your own cozy
For dads:
3 outfits
Under clothes
Jacket or sweatshirt for the AC of hospital
Socks
Shoes
Toiletries
Blanket
Pillow
(Long phone charger cords for both of you) laptop or iPad if you wanna watch a movie or a show after having the baby and while your at the hospital recovering
DEFINITELY snacks for Matt because us women can’t munch while were in labor the men don’t get food from the staff so I’d bring some fav snacks like protein bars, granola bars, fav drinks, cash for cafeteria so he can get real meals too. Make sure Matt eats cause nerves and labor/delivery can sometimes do a lot to a man and their sugar levels and cause lightheadedness so you wanna make sure their snacking and drinking liquids. Bring some extra for you too if you think you’ll want some after having the baby but you get fed meals Abby:)
For baby: bring any outfits you want him to wear, your own swaddle or swaddle blanket if you want him swaddled (I’d bring atleast 3 little outfits:)
CARSEAT LOL don’t forget that
Great ideas Shania, I was craving an Italian sub while I was in labor!
Love y’all! so excited for the baby!!
Also keep in mind that you don't need all that stuff social Media tells you to buy
The best thing we got when our son was born, a Lazyboy recliner. You will want to lay back with him and they are super comfortable. You will be able to read to him and fall asleep with him. You will be able to use it for many years. Plus he can use it when he gets older.
it’s so sweet how genuinely kind & grateful you guys are
On baby #3 here.
One thing I’ve learned about parenting is no matter how many books you read or advice is given, you can never be fully prepared. But it’s the best🥰
Everyone I know with 4 or more says 3 was the hardest!
i wanted to try a prenatal massage so bad but we didn't have the money now it's too late i had my son already lol
So true! Having our 3rd was so challenging but our 4th was a breeze.
Abby my oldest son was born in Phoenix 10/1/80, going to be 42 this year. You won't need many long pants or heavy clothes for him. Most of your clothes should be cotton since it will be cooler for him.
IM SO HAPPY FOR YOU ALL!!! I think this baby has some super awesome parents 😁🫶🏻 stay safe 😊😊
I love the idea of a space themed nursery! Congrats on the next chapter, so happy for you guys!
Still can't believe they are pregnant. Still can't believe matt is a dad & abby is a mom already. Time flies by so fast!!!!
