Interesting video Brian. I had a GSA last year as a courtesy bike when mine was in for a service, and I was an epic bike to ride. At the moment I'm running a 1200RT, and I have to say I love that bike, and while the GSA felt amazing, It wasn't enough to get me off the RT. That might change in the future, but I'll probably run the RT for a good few year yet. Great video, take care mate :)
Nice vid. BMW make a bloody good bike, not just the GS. I regret having to get shot of the RT cos I loved that bike. Did everything I needed it to and was capable of one helluva lot more than I could throw at it. A big thing that puts people off is the price and the servicing costs especially with labour at £90+vat the last time I took it to motorad. I do miss that shaft drive though, maybe we'll see another one soon😊
Do like the SOS function, I have seen this in cars but not on motorbikes certainly can be a lifesaver if your offroad. Sat nav for me is also an essential, I have never experienced the BMW Sat Nav but I'm sure it's very comprehensive. As far as servicing is concerned I also agree that better to do all you can. Can see you really love the bike and wish you many thousands of happy riding ahead. Cheers
nice round up, and with 30k under your belt it carries more weight than a quick 5 min test rider. They are popular for a reason, if they were shit they wouldn't be so popular - given the price. Wishing you many more happy miles.
Surely doing 30k miles on 1 of those is easy...Well compared to the 10k miles I done on my MT-125! 😉🤣👍 Good honest review mate & look forward to seeing what you end up with in the future, but i know your not doing anything soon hopefully for your wallets sake! 😉✌️
I got mine new on 72 plate its identical to yours i am on 8k now i adore it mine was one of the bikes that came with a temp fitted halogen headlight they fitted the led after 9 months. I also have the black small rallye screen but i prefer the big screen for tours. Off to italy on friday
Great information about the GS, they are cracking machines. My mate Alex has the GSA and also my mate Willie has just placed an order for a GSA and his is the low chassis one so I'll be able to ride it 😊 Your absolutely spot on about keeping the bike serviced, this goes for any car/ bike and I do all this work myself as like you say, the dealers charge a fortune. My Honda is out of warranty next month so that will never see a main dealer again unless something drastic goes wrong with it but it's Japanese so I'm not expecting anything to go wrong. My Honda has covered just over 10,000 miles and its had 3 services from the main dealer (to maintain the warranty) and I've serviced it 3 times myself and its also been touring Europe and has never missed a beat!
@thepeakybiker definitely the best way to go, and it also connects you to the bike more. The satisfaction you get doing your own servicing/ maintenance is great plus it gives you the opportunity to spot developing issues, and you can rectify them before they cause any issues!
@@thepeakybiker sos is ok but mines been in about 3 times for sos fault had new switch and some updates. Also mate i assume you are aware you can unlock sports dash using gs911

Best thing about the bike no chain and chain lube being thrown all over your legs after you e put it on

The new sat nav is great and the SOS send a call if you don’t answer it pings a location to the emergency services
Really liked that video, getting a good insight into the GS from a non GS owner 👍🏻
Thanks mate appreciate this
