I love both games a lot. Elden ring has just amazing combat, gameplay open world and the witcher 3 gave me the best gaming experience that I've ever had.

@@fawkkyutuu8851 the things you appreciate are definitely the foundations of it being one of the greatest titles as hailed by gamers all around the world given the critical reception of the game, but one thing that made me quit it in between was the underweight combat, just swinging around casting 5 repetitive spells dodging around didn't gave me the satisfaction i wanted, it's combat was what i feel where it lacked, and in terms of that i would prefer RDR 2 over Witcher 3, both have an awesome open world design but RDR 2 just feels like as if you are in the world no necessary inventory toggling,lots of menu options,hud options, so many things to take care of while Witcher 3 i felt detached from the world because of so many things loaded at once and plus the cranky animations too. Should i give the game one more try. RDR 2 felt more organic where was witcher felt more arcadey and bulked up

The Witcher 3 is truly a masterpiece, 7 years and is still looking better than most games nowadays. CDPR really drops the ball with CP2077
Not really, especially after update 1.5 and 1.6 on CP77. It's still the #2 single-player only game with the most positive reviews in Steam, second only to Witcher. And CDPR's sales this year is 8% more than last year and its mostly because of CP77 which is selling really well nowadays. I recommend checking it out now and don't think that it stayed just the same since release.
Bro cyberpunk 2077 after latest patches is truly a masterpiece. You just need a very powerful hardware and you will get to experience one of the most stunning game with one of the best story... I hated cp when it released but now after updating my device and latest patch it's my favourite game...

@Budget pc gaming absolutely, I still find myself sinking hours into it without even realising, there's still so many places I've not ventured to yet, and the majority of random side quests feel so well written and thought out, that its laughable you can simply miss out on them by not exploring. But "missing out" takes nothing away from the game of course, due to the fact that no you may not come across said quest (yet) you will surely come across something else on your path. I absolutely fell in love with the witcher, one of the few games ill sit and listen to all the dialogue options haha. Good day fine sir.

I play the game for 3 hours and uninstalled it. Maybe the game not for me, I don't care much about writing and storytelling in video games, I just wanted to have fun and the witcher 3 does not provide the fun as I had with Elden Ring.

The Witcher 3 is 7 years older than Elden Ring. Despite being older, I think the Witcher 3 looks much better overall. The modeling, textures and lighting in Witcher 3 (2015) look better than what is present in Elden Ring (2022). FromSoft games are never technical standouts. Elden Ring relies on strong art direction, to present itself in a manner that is generally visually satisfactory.
Hush elden ring has like five dragons within the game.A Secret magical cave that opens a portal to a whole new world.And npc’s that would put the witcher 3 to shame

@@dedpul5071 it's Just more times better than elden ring's graphical fidelity and the thing is much better than witcher you can swim on it, in elden ring it's just meh...but the gameplay is only acceptable to me also elden ring has great lod rendering so yeah the landscape is impressive tho but Witcher 3's Vegetation Is Way Dense so it's more detailed thus every quest is using a motion capture or keyframe whatsoever so it's feels like movie..the elden ring one it's completely static like they made it from GTA SA DYOM MOD lol I don't say DYOM MOD is bad so yeah it's lame

The developers actually wanted to make the game more visually amazing. Fidelity was a major focus. They were trying to push the pc generation at the time but had to step back and make some sweeping changes because the game wod have been unplayable on console even on low settings

Elden Ring is unique, and very good. Those who've played it (and can play it) have thoroughly enjoyed it. But there's a large portion of the population who are interested, but incapable of rising to its challenge.
Elden Ring, is also a one trick pony. Everything attacks you, and it's all about stronger and greater enemies.
Find tools to defeat enemy, beat enemy, rinse and repeat.
Elden Ring has great locations, and exploration is exceptional. But it is formulaic.
W3, if you're into fantasy, this game welcomes you no matter your skill, or dedication. It can be enjoyed as an interactive story, as a game, or as a gauntlet. There's something for everyone. If you want to seek out boss battles, you can. If you want to solve problems, you can. If you just want to explore and discover a living world with good and bad people, or tragic stories, you can. Also the number of stories and quests. They're organic, depending on many factors, a quest may be available or not, and it could change leading to other changes with other quests. So you feel your adventure is uniquely yours.
Masterpieces are inclusive, not exclusive.
@@kewlztertc5386 I know about all the good parts in Witcher no need to explain. I have more than 600 hours in this game and i would say I am a fan boy of witcher and also CDPR game style. I love Cyberpunk too and i would say there are not much devs who can tell you great stories in games like CDPR doing(i never played Last of Us so so i can't compare this).
It looks like you try to say Elden Ring is to hard so it can't be a masterpiece or whatever we call it. Its like if its not main stream enough so it can't be good.
I think its ok if the artist/devs say its the purpose to give you that special feeling.
Also tbh the game isn't that hard. Sure you will die many times but w progress the game becomes more and more easier, sure there are still harder bosses and some more harder optional bosses, but the game is just an RPG and scales w simple stats. I am not a Dark Souls gamer(never played this kind games) or some pro in this kind games and have right now 100h in Elden Ring and can "easy" progress in this. Even Kingdom Come as an example feels like a rly hard game in the first hours w this wierd sword combat system till you realize all depends on stats it can becomes a easy button mashing combat.
I think most of us has just forget how to play games and even more important how to learning the rules of a game. Elden Ring is nothing new, for me it feels like a game from the early 2000s with technique of these days.
Formulaic interesting and yes this is correct. I think this isn't a bad thing, it becomes a bad thing bcs of Ubisoft games. Most open world games are formulaic, even the Witcher. Quest are just trigger based, means you are just pushing the trigger to move forward in the quest(between trigger just some fights etc. . The narrative part in Witcher hide this in a good way. And sure Elden Ring is formulaic too but the environment is mostly unpredictable and surprising, variation of enemies and the freedom how you progress in this game can hide this too. Even it would be more visible, it doesn't matter bcs the gameplay part in Elden Ring is very good. Its like LoL Dota or what ever, in this kind games you doing the same thing over and over again but every game has different dynamic, similar to Edlen Ring, same boss but with decent changes gives you a new dynamic, even the whole game becomes a different game just w changing the class build(something i miss in the awesome Witcher world but i know its about Gerald and it wouldn't make sense having freedom in class build here). There are much more things both games do great to hide the formulaic thing.
In my opinion The Wticher 3 is a masterpiece(one of the best and maybe the best open world game I've ever played). About Elden Ring i can't say it right now bcs i didn't finished the game yet but for now I just can say it has maybe the best third person combat gameplay I've every played and the world designe is outstanding.
I loved Elden Ring in a way that I thought no game could even match it!!!!
But then played Bloodborne and Sekito and the Dark Souls and that changed!!!

@@JavierArochoVega first of all most of the builds aren't fun and aren't effective the best weapons in the game are specifically tailored to some classes . second the side quests in elden ring aren't good most of the time they feel cheap
and the story doesn't shine as well . having to read item descriptions to understand the story isnt good for an open world game. for the first 30 hours elden ring felt really good you constantly discovered new things and fought new enemies how ever after a certain amount of time you'll realise that the bosses and ruins and dungeons are most of the time copy and pasted you're just experiencing things that you did earlier. most of the time you exploring the world of elden ring is just you going from place to place wanting to find new enemies and that's just it . hell exploring in elden ring is an illusion its just the only thing that you do in elden ring which is killing enemies someware else the dungeons are the same and so are the ruins
at least in games like skyrim or the witcher 3 every time you found something it was new it made you feel like an adventurer you explored the world of the witcher 3 or skyrim not because of just finding new enemies to kill but for the story telling and adding to it by exploring the world. finding the witcher school diagrams and the witcher contracts or finding new characters or player choices elden ring doesn,t have these things in it's copy and pasted dungeons and ruins and the story telling in elden ring and it's side quests aren't as deep as the witcher 3 . even the side quests in the witcher 3 are amazingly well written especially the witcher contracts which some times will have a twist at the end of them. overall both games are good but i often find the only thing that elden ring is better than the witcher 3 at is some of the bosses and the combat and thats my problem the witcher 3 has more a meaning full main story and side quests and exploring the world doesn't feel copy and pasted and the environmental storytelling and details in its side quests are somewhat superior. exploring the world of elden ring gets repetitive after a certain amount of time but like skyrim in the witcher 3 if you dont explore the world you'll miss out on amazing storytelling and side quests and contracts
Witcher 3 has a world, you have a meaning, there is life going on around you, you have a mission: to solve some problems of that wretched world. People's lives are harsh and you are a force of good that tries to help them. You have a story and it has a meaning, dialogues are fantastic, a well-written game. Elden ring is just some battles with monsters who have no reason of being there and you have no reason either, just some hypothetical situations where you should be killing them because that's what the developer said. And the world in Elden Ring is very limited in colors, everything either grey or orange and all the textures have to be greyish/transparent that is just boring for the eyes. You don't feel being part of that world, it's cold and there is no reason why you should be there.

These games need to stop being compared. On a graphical level it’s fine, but people are actually debating which is the better game? They are completely different experiences. One emphasized immersion, quests, and a deep narrative. The other emphasizes exploration, combat, and character progression.
They're still very comparable imo due to genre.

No it's one of 5 kinds... despite it's shiny yellow trees it's the same medievil melanchoic undead scenario as Dark Souls 1- 3 and the two Demon Souls itarations. I was disappointed after the cool new journeys Bloodborne and Sekiro.

They bring back the cosmic horror and mystery elements from bloodborne and it completely differentiates itself from the drab and dying areas of the dark souls games. Nokron is one of the most aesthetically pleasing levels i have ever played. Same with the entrance to the mountaintop of giants and the Haligtree.

If Witcher 3 was nominated this year, it would still be the game of the year. It creates a more realistic world in a much larger area, with a better scenario. Not to mention the graphics and atmosphere. Until something better comes along, Witcher 3 is still the best RGP.

Okay I don’t hate Elden ring, in fact I like it very much but the amount of praise that it gets is just way too much, the open world to me felt really bland yet it does have spectacle I will give it that.
The Witcher 3 on the other hand deserves absolutely every ounce of praise and recognition that it deserves. Hands down one of the best RPG games of all time and it has definitely set a new bar for open world RPG’s.
I just feel that Elden ring didn’t even meet this bar not even close. In my opinion people praising the game for its open world is completely unjustified when you compare it to games like the Witcher 3.

At first I didn't have such a good experience with TW3, I found the game very robust and stuck, but after playing Elden Ring I started to have a different perspective on role-playing games, I want to give TW3 a second chance and experience everything it has to offer. best in the game, both are excellent games.

The scenarios of elden ring are just… stunning. I was speechless from start of the game to the end of it. It brings me back to some ds and bloodborne memories. Such as the dragonkin soldier battle. The mummies raising from the ground… Just like Bloodborne. I was like “holy fuck” for straight 10 min without moving.
Elden Ring is fun to play but got boring after the first play through, not to mention the empty world was depressing compared to The Witcher.

@@CITYZEN50 lol dude... I've played every souls game to date (sekiro and bloodborne included) and I can confidently say that ER is the most dissapointing game of the bunch after DS2.
I mean, the selling point of ER is the open world and sure it's wonderful the first time you see the landscape and the map is huge, but they didn't do anything new with it. It's basically DS3 again with little to no evolution regarding gameplay mechanics and graphics. The game literally feels, sounds, looks and performs like they took DS3 and slapped some some ENB on top and cranked the particle effects all the way up. It's fucking ridiculous that you need a 3060ti to be able to run this mid-range ps4 looking game at stable 60 fps in 1080p.

Witcher 3 by a long shot because it actually has a coherent story that is actually quite interesting, not that Elden Ring wasn't interesting, it was just really quite difficult to follow and it was rarely coherent, being a bit too cryptic, but thats generally how FromSoft games are.

The witcher 3 wins I just can't get into elden ring.
I went from Skyrim to the Witcher III then to Dark Souls III and they all became some of my favorite games of all time. The scale of Skyrim felt immense. The world felt populated and engaging and the mod community elevated it beyond all expectations. I'd still enjoy Skyrim if the devs would just leave it alone. Dark Souls III was everything I'd wanted in a Souls title, I could nitpick it to death only because I spent 2.5k hours on 3 platforms thoroughly invested. The Witcher III is an immersive stage populated with lovingly crafted characters whose stories fill hundreds of hours of play. I loved how Geralt wasn't central to the world's existence. Our Hero wasn't the story but only one of many trying desperately to carve out a living in crescendoing sets of circumstances that ultimately spiral out of control. The multiple plots and tangents woven together to create a overtly complicated story about a man's love for his horse.
Elden Ring had my attention from the first glints of a concept. I followed it's progress closely and was enthralled with the breadth and beauty of the world and monsters. After a bit the glow waned and I found myself wanting it to compare it to Siekero. Then the disappointments settled in. Void of humanity, Elden Ring went hollow. The world felt like noise and the bosses felt less like challenges and more like 'make-work'. I never got Co-Op to work consistently and when it did function, the abrupt and seemingly arbitrary failures to maintain the connection eroded what little joy there was left in it.
All that said, "they're masterworks all, you can't go wrong."

I have one single issue with Elden ring and that is that the enemies and my horse turn fucking invisible. I mean like, come on fromsoftware, the game looks like Dark souls 3 why does it have invisible enemies bug? This didn't even happen for me when I played God of War or Red dead redemption 2 and those games look far better.

I used to think these games were neck and neck. Now that I’ve dumped 100 hours into the Witcher, it’s not even close. Elden Ring just feels like complete brain rot. Just fighting and killing, killing and killing some more with zero purpose. When I play the Witcher, I feel ALIVE, I feel immersed. When I play elden ring I feel drained of my energy. Witcher 3 takes the cake all day

Elden ring has 146 different types of enemies if we count them without reusing with new magic or ability, while the witcher 3 has only 84 types of enemies so elden ring is better in enemy types
In rpg element elden ring you have many options you free to choose or change like weapons animation there are heavy and slow with high damage or light and fast with less damage and you have many magic abilities and ashes of war while the witcher 3 you only have five magic and one weapon bad animation you may get hit while doing it so elden ring is better as rpg element because you have many options,
Music is totally depends in your opinion so you shouldn’t compare the music but for my own opinion the elden ring has better music
Exploration you do not understand this point, exploration should attract your curiosity to just come and explore the world by the design of the world it self, that is the point. 1st i dont think having more enemies is better...i would rather have variety over quantity, but i guess it goes both ways.
2nd i think both of them have a good ammount of arsenal but i was talking about the gathering and crafting section. where witcher 3 exceeds elden ring
3rd i think you are correct music is a personal preference after all, i should have put it in the same section as Story and Graphics.
4th The thing about witcher exploration is that its not forced on you, rather you explore on your own or via bounty or main story also it gives me something to do while exploring other then collecting resources of killing monsters. (i guess this one also falls under personal preference)
Lastly if you have not played witcher 3 properly atleast the main story then i highly suggest you give it another try, if you think the game is too easy for you you can crank up the difficulty to the highest at which point it becomes a dark souls game. Every monster can kill you in 1 or 2 hits...if you dont learn there attack patterns . Also you can craft the narrative of your story and have multiple endings at the end...there is Good, semi good, mid , semi bad and bad. also each of the 2 dlc can be considered as full fledged stand alone games. I am still playing Elden ring so my openion might change slightly when i finish the game in the next month but till then Witcher 3 is in my top 5 rpg game list out there.

Second you didn’t only talk about crafting, you did compare between the all rpg elements, crafting is good in the witcher 3 but it was very complicated and also you need discover every corner in the world to get enough elements and then see the difference, elden ring has good a crafting as well, you can build by crafting the buffs that will helps you with bosses many bosses weak against the holy damage or bleed or lighting, or pomp or many thing, to give you example in your playthrough you will reach boss called “godskin duo” when you reach to this boss use the sleep arrows against him and you will see.
Last thing before I start playing the witcher 3 i heard many advises about how can you enjoy with game many people said you have to focus on playing the side quests and enhancing the magic I did these advices and then i enjoyed in the witcher 3 but it was incredible in storytelling and lore but other thing wasn’t good enough the attract me to complete the game,
I will give the game another try when the new gen version comes and I will see again

As for me i did Hearts of stone furst and then did half of main story then did all available side quest and bounty to make myself superstring then did rest of main story and then blood and wine. I still open the game from time to time to slay some griffins and explore and listen to the amazing ost and take some screenshots to set as wallpaper. The best fact that i like about witcher 3 is that you dont have to mod it at all unlike a certain game we know "S*y*im* .....

From a graphical standpoint Elden ring lose to a 7 years old game BUT the world design of Elden ring is far more impressive to me than The Witcher 3. Also, The Witcher 3 don't really benefit from being a video game, there is way too much cutscene and it feel like a movie. The Witcher 3 didn't push the medium of video game forward, they did a better version of Ubisoft open world formula and that's all.
are you out of your mind? for one, ubisoft didn't invent the open world, nor did they invent that "formula". quests were always a major part of morrowind, oblivion, skyrim, mass effect etc and in Elden ring the "quests" are essentially far more simplistic in comparison. The witcher 3 took what Elder Scrolls did and genuinely hand wrote every single quest, and exuded quality and REAL unique content amongst a 200 hour experience, whereas Elden Ring needs to pad those hours with repeat fights, and PVP.
The fact that the witcher 3 is still ahead of Elden Ring and every other RPG, in terms of varied quest quality, and consistent presentation means the witcher 3 moved the needle, not the other way around. So much so that games STILL don't do what the witcher 3 did as far as painstakingly hard work in making sure every quest is hand written. You never had quests like "the bloody baron" in a open world RPG before, not of that quality. Elden ring doesn't do that.
From just strips everything they aren't good at (storytelling)out of the game, and has you pretty much just...fight.

Being teleported to Crumbling farrum azula suspended in time & air was way more exciting as they gave you sneak peek before when you teleport from Liurnia ,
Or when Lyndell turns into Ashen capital when you return to it after burning the erd tree ,
Or when you get teleported to late game locations after opening trap chests ,
*There is way more focus on interconnectivity & level design*
More focus on designing alternate & interconnected pathways such as underground locations like Deeproot depths , Ainsel river , Subterranean Shunning Grounds or
