This recipe is truly the real deal. I've made it this exact same way, and it was a hit! Also impressed with how the creator was able to cut each cake in half successfully, being that it's so most. Will try my luck at trying to cut each circle in half next time. I love the fact that it's 4 layers. I've only made this cake in a 9x13 in pan.

Just tried this and just... Wow. I've been trying different recipes from TH-cam whenever I wanted to make a chocolate cake, and this is by far the most moist and chocolatey cake I've ever made. The texture is perfect too. I think I'll stick to this recipe. If you're reading the comments just to know if the recipe's good, then I'm telling ya, you have to make this. Although I just made it without the icing (because I'm too lazy for that and I didn't want extra sugar), I'm still crazy about it. I also didn't bake it as two different parts. My family members are usually picky about cakes and are quick to criticize, but they absolutely loved this and didn't say anything negative. I put chocolate chips in the ready batter and it was a very nice addition. Overall I'm sooo happy and grateful! I'll be sure to make the icing next time if I'm not lazy 😊👍 Edit: I made this again with the icing and needless to say, it was amazing.
@@forabetterworld7400 Sorry, I didn't use a round pan, it was a rectangular one but I don't care about this stuff. You just have to take it out when a knife comes out of it clean, aka when it's ready... Hope this helps 😊

Legit recipe. I used a very similar one and the cake was so moist and the boiling water was the key. The batter was very thin but it turned out perfect.

For the cream(frosting) we used this: Butter 1 cup Cocoa 1 1/2 cup Powdered Sugar 2 cups Milk 2/3 cup Vanilla Extract 1 tsp And the thing you're talking about is just cocoa, milk and powdered sugar. The amount is listed above here, but do not throw everything at once, just put a little bit of sugar, then little bit of cocoa and milk and again sugar, cocoa, milk so that your cream will be smooth. I've been making this cake for the past three years and it has never let me down. This is my most used recipe ever. My measurements have been off so many times due to lack od baking supplies but it has been delicious. It is soft, moist, and rich. Goes great with butter and whipped cream. I also like to add some chopped nuts to the batter like almonds and cashew to add a crunch. Hazelnut essence and coffee really uplift the cake and transform it. Lastly , I don't add boiling water mostly due to lack of patience and it turned out fine for me. Thanks!

@@SaadKhan-cq9pp It's 1 and 3/4 cup so you'd have to measure twice. It's almost two cups. Sugar quantity is fine if you use unsweetened cocoa but if you use sweetened cocoa, reduce the amount of sugar. I also add some youghrt to balance the flavors and it's great. It's all purpose flour. This one never fails Also , sometimes I add this batter to a mug and make a mug cake out of it when I’m lazy to bake the whole cake , and this way you can have a mug cake whenever you want, instead of eating the whole cake . The mug cake too tastes amazing when made with this batter . Add vanilla ice cream and Hershey’s chocolate syrup on the mug cake and you’ll be in heaven .

Made this chocolate cake just now.. turned out great! It's so soft and moist!! I reduced the amount of sugar to 1 and a quarter cup and I powdered it finely with a tsp of corn starch before adding to the batter as, in the video, it looked like icing sugar was used and the measurements do vary for powdered/ icing sugar and granulated sugar. It's still the perfect amount of sweetness, so feel free to reduce the sugar if you want. Also, I added a 1 tsp. of instant coffee powder in the hot water, and it enhanced the chocolate flavour. I didn't try the icing though (as I didn't have butter), but I used chocolate ganache frosting on it, and it goes excellent with this too. Thank you so much for this recipe :)

@@suegz139 I baked it in one pan and still came out great. Cooking time would be a little bit more than 30 mins. I checked mine after 20 mins and it is still jiggly. I covered it with aluminium foil and bake for another 15 mins.

This is the classic recipe on the back of the Hershey’s cocoa powder canister. Use buttermilk in place of milk and hot coffee in place of hot water to enrich the flavor even more! Ive been making this cake for years this way.

I once got visitors and made this cake from start to finish(ed) baking in 40 minutes 😁 Needless to say I maxed my oven for 15 minutes then reduced the heat (to 180 deg) baked for 23mins...Twas delicious 😋 😋

Just tried this and just... Wow. I've been trying different recipes from TH-cam whenever I wanted to make a chocolate cake, and this is by far the most moist and chocolatey cake I've ever made. The texture is perfect too. I think I'll stick to this recipe. If you're reading the comments just to know if the recipe's good, then I'm telling ya, you have to make this.
Although I just made it without the icing (because I'm too lazy for that and I didn't want extra sugar), I'm still crazy about it. I also didn't bake it as two different parts. My family members are usually picky about cakes and are quick to criticize, but they absolutely loved this and didn't say anything negative. I put chocolate chips in the ready batter and it was a very nice addition. Overall I'm sooo happy and grateful! I'll be sure to make the icing next time if I'm not lazy 😊👍

@@forabetterworld7400 Sorry, I didn't use a round pan, it was a rectangular one but I don't care about this stuff. You just have to take it out when a knife comes out of it clean, aka when it's ready... Hope this helps 😊

Legit recipe. I used a very similar one and the cake was so moist and the boiling water was the key. The batter was very thin but it turned out perfect.
Tried this recipe out for my parents anniversary, turned out to be a huge hit. I did my own small changes to the recipe and I kept it in the fridge overnight but overall a recommend recipe ❤️

For the cream(frosting) we used this:
Butter 1 cup
Cocoa 1 1/2 cup
Powdered Sugar 2 cups
Milk 2/3 cup
Vanilla Extract 1 tsp
And the thing you're talking about is just cocoa, milk and powdered sugar. The amount is listed above here, but do not throw everything at once, just put a little bit of sugar, then little bit of cocoa and milk and again sugar, cocoa, milk so that your cream will be smooth.

I've been making this cake for the past three years and it has never let me down. This is my most used recipe ever. My measurements have been off so many times due to lack od baking supplies but it has been delicious. It is soft, moist, and rich. Goes great with butter and whipped cream.
I also like to add some chopped nuts to the batter like almonds and cashew to add a crunch. Hazelnut essence and coffee really uplift the cake and transform it.
Lastly , I don't add boiling water mostly due to lack of patience and it turned out fine for me.

@@SaadKhan-cq9pp It's 1 and 3/4 cup so you'd have to measure twice. It's almost two cups. Sugar quantity is fine if you use unsweetened cocoa but if you use sweetened cocoa, reduce the amount of sugar. I also add some youghrt to balance the flavors and it's great. It's all purpose flour. The white one. Hope this helped!

I have been trying to make different things from cookies to brownies but all my attempts failed and this recipe is the first one that succeeded.
Some changes I made in the recipe:
I added 2 cups of flour
Only half a cup of boiling water
1/4 tsp salt
It took half an hour to be baked perfectly

Also , sometimes I add this batter to a mug and make a mug cake out of it when I’m lazy to bake the whole cake , and this way you can have a mug cake whenever you want, instead of eating the whole cake . The mug cake too tastes amazing when made with this batter . Add vanilla ice cream and Hershey’s chocolate syrup on the mug cake and you’ll be in heaven .

The icing was very overpowering... very moist and rich! Great for those into that. I recommend adding a little boiling water to the icing and less cocoa

Made this chocolate cake just now.. turned out great! It's so soft and moist!! I reduced the amount of sugar to 1 and a quarter cup and I powdered it finely with a tsp of corn starch before adding to the batter as, in the video, it looked like icing sugar was used and the measurements do vary for powdered/ icing sugar and granulated sugar. It's still the perfect amount of sweetness, so feel free to reduce the sugar if you want. Also, I added a 1 tsp. of instant coffee powder in the hot water, and it enhanced the chocolate flavour.
I didn't try the icing though (as I didn't have butter), but I used chocolate ganache frosting on it, and it goes excellent with this too.

@@suegz139 I baked it in one pan and still came out great. Cooking time would be a little bit more than 30 mins. I checked mine after 20 mins and it is still jiggly. I covered it with aluminium foil and bake for another 15 mins.

This is the classic recipe on the back of the Hershey’s cocoa powder canister. Use buttermilk in place of milk and hot coffee in place of hot water to enrich the flavor even more! Ive been making this cake for years this way.

Turned out great but I just did 2 things differently:
Added 2 tsp of instant coffee powder to the boiling water
Used 1 cup of cocoa powder for the icing

I once got visitors and made this cake from start to finish(ed) baking in 40 minutes 😁 Needless to say I maxed my oven for 15 minutes then reduced the heat (to 180 deg) baked for 23mins...Twas delicious 😋 😋
