      Fully agreed. Large logos like this can usually be only found on cheap equipment. Premium products usually have a small logo somewhere. What Rode has done here seems to be calculated at exposing their brand to everyone watching streamers using this arm. Disappointing.

    Why would the cable Mangement ‘not’ be worked into the sleeve? The over-branded sleeve is also a deterant for many who don’t wish to be an advertisement for Rode. As an owner of the original this is quite disappointing. A lower profile mic arm would have been something many customers would be more interested in. Look at the Elgado low profile arm and it’s popularity, sleek design and good simplistic looks.

  • @marknortham5677

    Love the new PSA1+, just bought 3, however the huge logo plastered all over the arm absolutely ruins the look for video applications. One logo, tastefully placed and sized, not a huge contrast from the background colour, would be fine. However 4 logos, very large type, non-removable adds up to a huge distraction and non-professional look for video applications. Viewers should be focused on the content, not huge logos from gear suppliers. I cut off the neoprene sleeves and we're all set! A pity I had to do that - sticking black tape over them looked even worse! Please consider tasteful and professional branding going forward as some of the other commenters have said. Turning your products into billboards for your company is too much.

    • @marknortham5677

      @@Serkong Yes, I have several original PSA1s. I would definitely get the PSA1+, as the attachment end (where you hook up the mic) is better built and more adaptable to different sizes/shapes of microphones. Plus, the weight handling in the PSA1+ is superior.

    2:43 Pretty good idea with the office desk and cable ports, but there is usually a cable duct underneath. If I now use this cable port for the PSA1+, I can no longer reach this cable duct because the thread and the lock nut of the PSA1+ make access to this cable duct difficult or impossible. Is there a solution for this?

  • @GareWorks
    @GareWorks 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    I was going to buy a PSA1 this week but didn't get around to it yet. Now I'm not sure. This is definitely better... but the price difference in New Zealand is about $70 (to be fair, that's based on the cheapest price of the PSA1 - MSRP, it's closer to about $50 difference), and that's a LOT of extra money that could go towards other equipment. I don't mind paying for good hardware, but I'm not so sure this is it.
    The new head is nice, and the rubber additions to the desk mount are a must-have which really should have been there in the first model, but otherwise, it seems like the same arm except with a couple of ugly covers on it.
    I don't _mind_ the external cable management, but the covers feel like a bandaid solution, especially considering they're making up at least half of this "new" product. Seems like it'd be a better and likely cheaper solution to get third-party ones without giant logos on them instead.
    Honestly, the only real selling point for me is the mount being rubberised on both sides, but I feel like that should have been the case to begin with, and you can always get a different mount or modify the existing one, so again... I'm not really sold on this. I think I'll probably stick to my original plan of buying a PSA1. It'd be an easy decision if the price difference was much less, but as it is, I don't see $70 worth of extras over the original model (or even $50, for that matter).

  • @RavenSungOfficial
    @RavenSungOfficial 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Couldn’t you guys have the cables internal to the sleeves? Why are they outside, being unsightly, when the market is always looking for cleaner / sleeker cable management.
    Also that’s a nice big logo so you guys can have advertising without needing to pay streamers. Nice!
