I’m half way through sewing this for the first time and this video was a GAME CHANGER, thank you so much - knowing that it would work without fusible interfacing was such a relief because I hate the feel of it too, AND you’ve planted the idea of decorative buttons over functional ones too so I might also have to take your lead with that 😅 this video was such a public service and I love all the different versions too, so creative - thanks again!
Thanks for this video, so many fabulous ideas and tips - your quilted jackets video was great too. I have steam train envy, what a beautiful sound 🤩 Thanks again!
I love the red and white version you are wearing at the end of the video. Friday pattern company are very easy to follow aren’t they. You’re making me look at my wardrobe differently than I ever have before, and I’m 65 x
Hi, Sam! Your tops are beautiful! I love to use quilting cotton. I know it doesn't have the drape like viscose/rayon, but it feels so good. You can wear anything and make it look good.😊 Girl..... that red and white zebra print dress!!!! WOW👌
Love the dress idea Sam, your red and white version is lovely. It's a great pattern. With loads of variations like you said, so plenty of mileage for your money.
Thank you so much for this video. It was full of helpful information, such as the interface, the button holes, types of fabric, and more. My favorite is the comment you made- “by this time I was getting to know the pattern pretty well” which rang a bell for me. This is the reason we sew, to create a garment that fits our body. And, by spending time with the pattern and sewing different versions and with different fabrics. Also, by understanding the construction, I feel will meet that goal. This video has inspired me to go back to my sewing room, sit in front of my pattern until I get to know the pattern and get the fit right for me. Thank you!
Great vlog. Love your thought process and getting the most from your patterns and the most from your hobby. Your patina hacks are amazing. Definitely a ‘Tried and true’ pattern for you. You will have encouraged a lot of us who maybe thought this pattern wasn’t for them to have another look.
I love all of the hacks and now I'm probably going to have to try this pattern out. BTW, I ABSOLUTELY LOVE ❤️ the black belt. Thank you, as always, for sharing your wonderful talent with us.
I'm not a fan of interfacing either. I use cotton voile as a sew-in interfacing for collars and button plackets. It feels really nice. I love seeing all your patinas!
Patina is one of my favourite blouse patterns - so versatile and quick to make up. I love the last dress your wearing - very inspired to make a similar one for autumn
I love the Patina blouse and. Your fabric choices are gorgeous 🫶🏻 I’ve got 9ne cut out and it’s probably gonna get pumped up the sewing plans now it will be whirring through my mind 🤫😇
Hi Sam, I have the pattern ages and just never got round to trying it. I absolutely love the different looks you have created and will certainly be using some of the tips you have given here. Thanks so much for the time you took to do this video, I love this type of content and love the makes you create. I agree with the others, the red and white version is stunning. X
It is the Friday Pattern Company. You didn’t have the full name of the company in your video title, so here it is! Just in case anyone wants to purchase the pattern. The owner loves to see your pattern hacks, by the way - if you have comments or suggestions, she sometimes makes her own videos incorporating your alterations. It’s a great company.
First time viewer. I have the Patina on my cutting table so searching for other versions. Considering your channel name you must check out the sequined collar version done by @pollysews.
I would love more information about the skirt that you sewed for your red dress. Was it a pattern or did you just gather material for an attached skirt or is it a separate skirt pattern? The outfit is very attractive and I would love to make something similar.❤️
I’ve made this pattern and the sleeves were huge. I made short sleeve version. Has anyone else had this issue? I used seersucker, maybe not enough drape? Thanks for your hacks. I want to try again.
Fab ideas. I don't have this pattern but you've totally inspired me 😊. My brain is now "buzzing 😅". I wonder if you added ties /now to the Jersey version would it solve the v at bust?? Thanks again

Thank you. Yes very much like cost per wear in an item of clothing. I might start putting a little dot on a pattern to see how often I see it.
