    You've gone beyond with that ramp disaster - I only asked on your last video how would you repair a damaged hinge/pin on that ramp. Glad you fixed it!

      +gregtdude Spooky wasn't it? I'd be grateful if you woudl refrain from posting any requests for advice on Warlord repairs when I get back to that just in case they are the harbingers of real events!

    Good save! That's anyone's nightmare situation, thanks for sharing the mistakes and repairs as well as the successes.

      +Mikey R Yes, a scary one indeed and you're welcome! Next time I so something with hinges like this I'm going to reinforce the pin with wire. Thanks for watching :)

      leakycheese I had a look online, there's a shop in Crossgates that sells piano wire all the way up to 7mm, in .5mm increments, and brass sheet is easy to get. For my hinges, I'm now wondering about replacing the plastic and resin hinges on future kits entirely with steel and brass.

      +Mikey R Is that the Model Shop? They are a great place to get supplies like this and as my local hobby shop are my first point of call.
      After this incident I plan to reinforce hinges in the future with wire pins, you could go further as you say!

      leakycheese, that shop isn't so local to me now I don't pass through Leeds station every day. In York, we have a couple of good independent craft supply and modelling shops, but they don't have the range of stock that the Crossgates shop advertise on their site.

    I think an off white cream color for the interior would look really nice, and it would tie in well with the gold and red of the Custodes

      Hakeera Indeed, a good contrast. Thanks for watching :)

    Great work on the rebuild. I did this on a Dreadnought drop pod and ended up magnetizing the hinges. And take a look at Vallejo model air duck egg green for the interior. Really pale cool off-white.

    I saw a thread on one of the 30k forums where a guy was illuminating the interior of his Caestus with LEDs & conductive paint. Not a lot of follow ups after the initial mockup work though.

    Open heart surgery for resin made me choke on my own fluids, damn you leakycheese! Well recovered though my friend

    I can only imagine the French you must have spoken when you dropped the underside. Good repair job though; most skilful part of the build 😂

      Haha, it was a good thing the family was out at the time! Cheers, I was quite proud that I managed to fix that. Thanks for watching, Firstling :)

    Nicely done, as always, sorry to hear about the ramp disaster, but at least you fixed it without a major drama.
    30th Anniversary Marine, is just a dull, wasted opportunity, could have been something really special, but as it is any half way competent modeller can 'kit bash' a proxy for this easily- for shame GW

      +Ted Williams Cheers mate, it was a scary one for sure, although it has given me a great idea for future builds to prevent this happening.
      I've put you down for 'Meh' in the poll.
      Thanks for watching :)

    With so many modellers going for magnetising components I would appreciate your views on whether FW should start including magnets in their kits and put less reliance on pins for gun cupolas etc

    • @leakycheese
      @leakycheese  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +gregtdude Good question. My take on it is I think they should do more of the same with models such as the Achillus, Telemon, Barracuda and Kharon which come with magnet recesses moulded into the parts which make a modellers life easy.... and sure apply it to areas like gun pins as you say. Including magnets in their kits for me is a no as it will drive the cost up (extra labour, storage, packaging etc.) and the quality of magnets might not be as good as those you can very easily source from eBay.
      Thanks for watching :)

    Great video and high quality content as for all the other videos! True labor of love you put into
    I would suggest the interior to be painted in aircraft grey or maybe a very light bluish grey :- )
    Do you think these colours may be suitable?
    Btw, I'm really impressed by how many FW kits you own, I wish I could afford such a thing!
    Keep it up with the good stuff

    For the poll, I do like the veteran sarge, though I will personally be painting him as a lieutenant, as I think he'd be wasted as a mere sergeant.

    Kind of mixed about the anniversary model. On one hand I'm glad they made it a really usable and subtle figure. But on the other hand I can't help but feel that this Space Marine veteran was already in the works, they forgot about the anniversary and quickly repackaged the kit to give it a new purpose.

    Great Video as always, I am new to modeling (been painting for ages) but not taken the time, quite often as I've bought alot of second hand models from Ebay to really clean models up before painting. I was wondering about all the the tools, glues and fillers that you use. Have you done a video about what each one is and what there uses are? i would appreaciate one, whats the accelerant for?
    Additionally have you got any images of your painted models and will there be more videos about your TITAN!!!!?

    • @leakycheese
      @leakycheese  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Alan Shroue I did a video talking about the tools and adhesives I use check it out here: th-cam.com/video/fmpoVuX1BOg/w-d-xo.html. The accelerant sets superglue almost instantly and I find a handy thing to have about if I want to speed up some glue setting. There is also a series on resin model build and prep in my how-to and modelling playlist along with loads of other demos as well.
      I have some models I could share pictues of, although my more recent stuff is all Battletech. I'll be painting this next! Thanks for watching :)

    An ostentatious interior for a drop ship in mostly gold to carry around guys decked out in head to toe baroque golden armour would be at least a little apt.
