Those tetris shapes seem to corispond to the factions in the top roght. They each have a particular shape next to their faction icon.
Government was T shaped.
Elites S shaped.
Busnesses line shaped.
And public 2×2.
And, no L block.
I'm unsure of their impact though, I'm not necessarily seeing any impact. E.g.; building a scryscraper monorail (4 in a row) appeared to have no impact on the public points... (see at around 13:00)
Perhaps you get a bonus specifically if you build the right buildings matching the corresponding shape? Or maybe there is no actual effect in this demo yet 🤷🏼♂️
@@thijsv948 The bonus only applies to the faction who's shape you built (monorail being commercial). At the end of the week, at around 13:05, they had 405 commercial points, cost of -150 (255 remaining), +40 from the monorail, for a total of 295.
@@thijsv948you gain 40 of the corresponding faction power each time you build one of those shapes. You could see that when pravus first built the 2x2 district of shops, gaining 40 worker power in return in the tutorial.
I like how the art deco aesthetic, symbolic of modernism and futurism in its prime, was chosen for a game where an AI is chief administrator of a city.😅😅😅 Good stuff.
My Life as a Teenage Robot also uses Art Deco.
I wonder if the game would give you options to become a rouge AI that becomes fed up with all the factions and their bickering, pointing out that they want a utopian society but will always self sabotage themselves with greed and petty reasons. Then you release the murder droids and build the city in your image without the pesky humanz

@@1337-Nathaniel Well, given that the word means red, and this would be a bloody outcome, it DOES fit. If on accident.
you see the shapes each faction wants next to the faction symbol in the top right corner and it annoyed me to no end that Pravus didn't see that
No. It's worse HE DID (Check 0:50)

Pravus moments after creating the hunger games: that’s disgusting, stop that
This have so much of a Transistor ambiance vibe, love it !
15:38 about the patterns that fuse your buildings
i haven't played this myself, but i think the patters shown next to the 4 factions may be a clue

"tetris T" + "teris S/lightning bolt" + "1x4" + "2x2"
There is a fridge brilliance behind the title and the game mechanic. In Thomas Moores' Utopia, each area (or faction) must have equal number of populations. In case there is a margin, migration happened to balance them out. Glad they took this in consideration.
I love the graphic and music. Look like the Tetris placement is removed in the real game, minus the 1x4 and 2x2.
Pravus, each faction has a different shape.
Wow, I feel like the developers were heavily inspired by the 1927 film 'Metropolis' with the art deco and everything
This games has potential, would love to see it realised. Maybe a story with multiple endings depending on which faction u support more or the choices u took ( like the robot is a person event decision leads to detroid become human scenario for the city) or maybe both, where which factions u support & the choices u make during decisions weave together to craft a story & an ending (so u can have high points for one faction, get that faction ending but itll be bad regardless because u took decisions that make the faction take u offline or reprom u or something), u can even have some choices be meaningless in the greater scheme, like agreeing to the request for more parks & fulfilling it simply gains u good pr with the citizens & well more parks & is this an act of virtue, while ignoring also yields no story changing result

“Or maybe just get good”
Hahaha!!!
Pan'orama: I see what you did there.
Technotopia: 😮
The artstyle is really good, ngl
the music as well
I highly recommend The Battle of Polytopia. One word: IMPERIALISM!
getting some real "New Capenna" vibes from Magic the Gathering from the fist view.
Both draw from the same aesthetic style, yes.
Ahhh glorious Art Deco.
you can actually see the valid patterns. look to the right of the symbols of the faction resources on the upper right of your screen.
14:42, maybe you should've picked the blue upgrade. you straight up picked the worst one lol. only -5 upkeep and 2nd in terms of resources.
Hey Pravus I think it would be cool to see you play Hollywood animal, seems like a game you would be good at
Reminds me of Laysara. The game’s got a gimmick; The game is going to lean into the gimmick. Could be fun down the line. We will see when the game comes out of Early Access.
Do a complete run when it's out!
Good to see you Pravus.
This video pretty much sums up my main issue with any game that uses cards as part of it's main gameplay,. RNG can end your game and there's usually nothing you can do about it. it's not unlike gambling.
True. I feel Against the Storm is still by far the best version of this kind of game, since you have plenty of tools to manipulate the RNG (especially after progressing metacurrency a bit) and most buildings generate several different types of outputs. This usually means that even if you didn't get THE building you wanted, you still get a building that does something to progress your run. Since each town you build only lasts few hours at most it is also one of the very few builders where I don't mind finite resources existing.
Truly glorious
The game theme gave me ALOT of Transistor vibe!
Interesting game. Thanks, Pravus. :D
Pravus,
Has anyone recommend you Filming Industry Tycoon Management game titled Hollywood Animal? A filming Management with dark story theme.
Praise Pravus
7:49 Honestly creating the purge sounds like something that would happen if we let Chat GPT run the world today
Pretty cool game!
Thanks for the gameplay!
In 2:22, when placing the Skyscraper, it is so unsatisfying, that its does not count as 1x4 with a monorail being created that links to the other one.
Edit: I see, another Sykscraper makes them all link.
I’m creating bioshock rapture but on land. Sweet XD
so much transistor aesthetic, lol
This game seems like very different take on some elements from Industries of Titan.
This was cool!😊
Style reminds of Transistor
Metropolis vibes of off this:)
Same thoughts
Se que no van a entender este comentario, pero igual lo voy a poner, si quieren, traduscanlo.
**Yo siendo un fan del Dieselpunk despues de ver metropolis y este juego**: Mi momento a llegado.
Pravus, you didn't complete the text of the tutorials! Making the shapes in the top left helps!
This type of game reminds me of Lapse
what a puzzling game
I actually wonder is there any other game where your character in the story is a AI?
Per Aspera is very much that.
