  • Hello Fellow Crafters and Creatives!
In this time lapsed video I have altered the colour of some handmade paper from Dolly Dimples, using Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Sprays. This paper is amazing. I have had large sheets for a good while but am only just getting to start using them. They take colour from the Oxide spays very well and, despite starting with a dark colour, the end result shows the spray colours used.
The papers are very fibrous and so tearing them was difficult. When I struggled to tear in desired direction I simply added another water line on the back of the paper as well as the front. This meant the thicker fibres were getting wet and so were easier to tear.
When tearing this kind of paper, you will find the fibres leave a worn looking edge. If you desire a cleaner edge you can use a paper trimmer or scissors with no problems.
Because of the fabulously undulating nature of this handmade paper, I was able to use dry brushing with Pretty Amazing Mousses, from Pretty Gets Gritty to show off the texture and add a bit of shimmer.
I've then bound some copier paper, with a torn edge in keeping with the cover, into it using a simple binding method.
Finally I applied a previously decorated cog from my stash as a front focal image.
    HaPpY CrAfTiNg!
