  • This is a video where I show why I like certain art crayons I have and why I dislike others. I also show a process based on mark making with the crayons.
I look at Dina Wakley Media Scribble Sticks, Jane Davenport Colorstick, and Tim Holtz Distress Crayons. I also compare with one type of oil pastel (Sennelier). Of the three type, my favourite is the Tim Holtz Distress Crayons. This is due to their creaminess, range of colours available and the way they work on my art.
In the video I look at mark making with each type on:
    Mixed media card
Mixed media card with a layer of gesso
Reaction to water being applied on each of these with a brush.
There will be plenty of other videos out there that look at these products and I am aware the type of crayon you favour depends wholly on the individual and the project you are doing. Tim Holtz is very good at showing how his products work and I would recommend taking a look at his TH-cam channel to find out more. Jane and Dina both have great channels too.
