Great French song from the late 40’s, if I remember correctly. Beautifully translated into English. Julianne has such a beautiful voice and a personality to match. Love her dearly. She would make a great Granddaughter. Wouldn’t I like to spoil her.

Julieanne, you are an Angel! Thank you for blessing us with your beautiful voice and Mandolin playing skills, and Matt's guitar playing talent. I am so impressed! Thank You, and God Bless Your Family and You!
Julianne, i grew up in a family band, and gospel touring big band, was a Nashville session guitarist for 10 years. Your still very young, and ppl can relate to your voice, its amazing and slightly vulnerable sounding (in a good way) especially vibrato that really grows on us, its so natural coming out of you, and then we get blown away at the same time by your mastery of harmony and pitch, its really unique vocal print that you already have, and you are still just a young lady, and we all love your family and their own talents are also unique, but coming from an ex professional recording musician, you have got the it factor, and just stay pure to your heart, and keep family always close, and you will become even more a renowned musician and singer

The Petersens love to surprise! This performance was anything but shit, but rather a successful expansion of the stylistic repertoire, the Petersens can also do French chanson. And ... Translation of Pierre Fresneau's message "but why do you both come out of French public toilets?" Julianne I think a trip by you to Paris us in the offing, maybe we will hear you perform this Edith Piaf classic song under the Eiffel Tower?
@pierre fresneau.....their unusual cuteness is why we watch them & coming out of a port-o-potty (port-a-potty) is magical, LoL!! I adore anything that @Julianne Petersen and her family does, they're magnifique!! Is that right?! 😁😁😁
I once sang an entire french song about gossiping with my high school chamber choir called Je Le Vous Diray and I understand the struggle of pronunciation. Our teacher just about had a fit trying to get us to say the words like we were from anywhere other than America. I think you did great with it, but once again I'm American so I don't know. You have a beautiful voice and I am astounded by your musical skill every time I listen to you. Fantastic job once again!
Beautiful! In my experience, as a speaker of about seven languages with varying degrees of competence, mother-tongue speakers don't expect you to do it perfectly. They just appreciate that you showed sufficeint respect for their language to try. Brava, la straniera!
Ma cherie...Julliane. You have such poise and grace even when you and your brother simultaneously exit from this.....chemical toilet. Bravo... that shows an uncommon level of humility. You all get it. You know what time it is.
Julianne, your comment: "...My SINCEREST apologies to every French person who I offended by trying to pronounce "rose." " You made up for it by the most enchanting way you pronounced the word "love" :-)
My Grandmother had this tune on a musical box .. When I was a child in the mid 1950s. ..I would play it, and listen to it for hours, without never knowing it's connection, and significance with Edith Piaf, Nazis, and the Second World War. XX
This is one of the best videos I've seen I love it when Julianne carries on and sings and Matt follows up behind her this is so treasurable I'd love to see it more often
Never figured out before how it is hard for american to pronounce "Rose", it seems like you say "Rouge" (red) or just "Ross" like the guy in Friends, Anyway, beautiful work and I find it very funny to sing such a song with sanitations in the background ! Sam from France
Pronouncing the French R is difficult to learn for non French speakers. I took two years of French in High School and two in College, and Julianne still did a better job than me. I love listening to her unique voice.
@@JuliannePetersen It was great Julianne! Ofcourse Edith Piaf is, well Edith Piaf. There is no one really to compare to, so no one should. What you did here, is different and beautiful in its own right. You have an extremely nice and interesting voice. I thought at first you had a natural fast vibrato at higher notes, but after hearing a lot more from you, im sure its because of being nervous. Its fitting though to this song. Being nervous at performing is often a good thing, bc it makes your voice break and tremor and for this type of song that is golden. Also love your 'roots' and 'fields of gold'! And 'gentle on my mind' too. If you keep this up, im going to have to buy an album from you. Great effort on the french 'R'. Now try a dutch 'g' (german 'ch').... it will help on that french 'r', bc that g starts in the back of the mouth/throat. The french 'r' is the same sort of sound, starting deep and rolling to mid mouth. English 'r' is up front in the mouth. If you find all that interesting, that is. You did fine ;] (can also buy a french renault car and then tell every person you meet it is a real 'renault'. ;p I also love your youthfull innocence, bashfullness ('hi' and 'thank you') and your beautifull smile. Please dont change ;] Keep doing what you do girl.
Thank you both and to the rest of your family as well, for sharing these songs with us. Julianne, you are my favorite, but I know I'm not alone. You radiate something very pure and I am happy that you allow me and everyone else to experience this feeling. Well done!

@pierre fresneau.....their unusual cuteness is why we watch them & coming out of a port-o-potty (port-a-potty) is magical, LoL!! I adore anything that @Julianne Petersen and her family does, they're magnifique!! Is that right?! 😁😁😁
Mdrr excellent !
Je vous le dirais
When you can’t take a dump because 2 ppl are singing in front of the Johns at the Park XD lol love it, beautiful as always Julianne!
I tell you what though I’d rather crap myself then interrupt the music
A compliment I never thought I’d hear, but thank you!
Julianne Petersen Sorry it’s crude! Thanks for the music I’m a huge fan :D I do fiddle, wish I could join in sometimes! :)
Beautiful! In my experience, as a speaker of about seven languages with varying degrees of competence, mother-tongue speakers don't expect you to do it perfectly. They just appreciate that you showed sufficeint respect for their language to try. Brava, la straniera!
Well crap, I wasn't expecting that intro.
Lol
@Tug....that intro is the BEST!!! 😂😂😂
Well, as long as you weren't pissed about it....
XX
It's obvious that Julianne thinks (and sings) outside the box (jon).
This is one of the best videos I've seen I love it when Julianne carries on and sings and Matt follows up behind her this is so treasurable I'd love to see it more often
Never figured out before how it is hard for american to pronounce "Rose", it seems like you say "Rouge" (red) or just "Ross" like the guy in Friends,
Anyway, beautiful work and I find it very funny to sing such a song with sanitations in the background !
Sam from France
Sam Chayton tout à fait d’accord 😉
Haha yeah she messed that one up
For me, it was super hard! I rewinded Édith Piaf 100x trying to figure it out 🙈
Pronouncing the French R is difficult to learn for non French speakers.
You did fine ;]
(can also buy a french renault car and then tell every person you meet it is a real 'renault'. ;p
I also love your youthfull innocence, bashfullness ('hi' and 'thank you') and your beautifull smile. Please dont change ;]
Keep doing what you do girl.
Thank you both and to the rest of your family as well, for sharing these songs with us. Julianne, you are my favorite, but I know I'm not alone. You radiate something very pure and I am happy that you allow me and everyone else to experience this feeling. Well done!
Voice just like a beautiful perfume Julie. John.
