I'm totally blind, and so am not sure what all you had to do to set up the phone. You said when you get to this part, not saying which part you mean. I cannot see the screen and in the past, have appreciated your narration. In the future, could you clarify what you're seeing? I'm also wondering how accessible this is with Voiceover.

Does it need internet to transfer or you could do it offline?
As far as i know..no internet is needed..as there is no icloud account involved..its not restoring from a backup file in icloud..its transferring from one phone to another..wirelessly..possibly via nfc Bluetooth or inbuilt wifi

Interesting video as always Brandon! This feature is actually ported from iOS 13, I guess it's necessary because since this is the last version to support on iOS devices with 1GB of ram.

Thanks for the review. One question please, what about the 3rd party apps data? You only mentioned apps credentials and login, but what about, let's say, WhatsApp Chats? Or games achievements? etc,

This is not a new feature, the Apple store genius did it for me when i upgraded from my 8 to the XS -- this is the same feature that's existed for about a year but with some refinements. I worked for T-Mobile and after the Apple Genuis showed me i started doing this for customers who came in to upgrade their ios devices.
Do not talk if you have no idea, it is not completely new. but it's about not having to sign in iCloud anymore and having to select backups. you can do it directly with the code and it's done

Virtual Party Center it's not. You are confusing it with the order way where icloud account used to "download" and fetch all the data back from cloud.. But here..its happening side by side..wirelessly and locally..not using icloud or any data usage

Was hoping it'd be similar to Smart Switch.. I'd much more prefer an iOS app that can be downloaded onto both iPhones no matter the iOS version allowing the user to select what they want to send. It would cut out having to be on 12.4 and having to be in setup mode. I wonder if you left iCloud on if it would inject the iCloud account onto the new phone? Which could lead to more problems for those who don't know their passwords but want data transferred 🙈

What if you have two iphones and both are setup and you only want the messages from the one iphone to the other? As icloud backing messages etc never work

Update‼️ it was due to the old phone getting backed up. After the back up completion it went smooth.

Thanks for the review and update.....however, I had an English teacher who taught us about run on sentences when we were writing a paper.....Your speaking so fast and it made it difficult to follow.....it seemed that you were just running sentences and thoughts together....made it difficult to follow
this is a great video. I came here wanting to transfer all my data to another iphone so I can have another iphone with all my apps backed up. I guess you could do a backup but i have found no backup software that transfers everything like an image such as this does. If you wanted to use each iphone, could you just get an extra Sim card that is pegged to your one number and use it for both iphones? Of course this would only be needed if I lost one of the phones and I still would have the same number for any apps that require my phone number for security issues. Maybe this is a crazy thing I wanted to do, but i do have an extra iphone and figured I would back up the one I use and not worry so much if it is lost or broken.

It did not work on my 2 new iPhones. Lost over 400 photos and took 3 days to restore from the pc. Then to top it off apple trade in cancelled my trade in. Apple losing my support very fast.
This is so far behind the times. Like why is this just now a thing... makes no sense. This has been on Android for years, even transfering data from iphones..... Its not incredible its them making a basic upgrade where it should have already been.

No it didn’t, this was just introduced with 12.4. Before you could only transfer via iCloud backups
@@BrandonButch this was a feature beforehand. I worked at T-Mobile and this is how we would transfer customers data that owned iPhones

ok, you forgot a single detail, you didn't check if you have your old messages from the other iphone.. because for me the messages is more important better than photos, cuz i used google photos that’s why...

Haschisch I nope I get it now. You could do the exact same thing previously except you needed both to be connected to the same WiFi network while now you bypass the external WiFi router. It’s a subtle difference. Thus the confusion.
TJ previously it required an iCloud backup to get all the data moved over whereas now no backup is required at all. The bubble that transfers the settings has been around since iOS 11 but not the data transfer without backup.
